Teresa Caffese spent 23 years in the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office before leaving the office in January 2011 to open her own private criminal litigation practice. Ms. Caffese served as Chief Attorney for the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office from 2003 until 2011.

In over 2 decades of criminal defense practice Teresa has represented thousands of clients in state and federal courts.

Teresa has zealously represented and achieved an exceptional percentage of positive outcomes for clients charged with misdemeanor and felonies including DUIs, drug possession and sales, domestic violence, fraud or theft and high-​profile homicides. She has personally litigated over 100 jury trials and often is complimented by jurors at the end of a case.

Peers and legal groups have recognized Teresa’s distinguished career in many ways. She has been honored as a trial attorney by numerous legal groups and selected as one of the Top Women Litigators in California. She serves on criminal law advisory committees for the San Francisco Bar Association and the California Bar Association. Teresa is a Fellow of both the American College of Trial Lawyers and the International Academy of Trial Lawyers.
