Jeanne grew up in California and is raising three kids in San Francisco. She worked in the Superior Court Law and Motion, Presiding and Probate Departments. She practiced civil litigation for several years before embarking on estate planning, trust and probate law. Ms. Darrah also serves as a Judge Pro Tem in the San Francisco Probate Department.

Because estate planning is so intimate and personal, you need a lawyer who is both knowledgeable and caring. Jeanne is both. She gently and painlessly led my wife and I through the headache of creating a living trust. She knows the field cold and expertly guided us through all the complex decisions we had to make. We are a couple in our late 30s with a 5 month-​old baby in San Francisco. We approached Jeanne to help us sort out our estate matters, including writing wills, setting up trusts, etc. Jeanne was absolutely amazing! Jeanne Darrah worked with our family to get all our papers in order: wills for two adults, a trust for our house, powers of attorney for both of us, as well as other paperwork we didn’t even know we needed. It was a package deal, so there were no financial surprises. I thought the price was extremely reasonable for the amount of time and attention she devoted to it.
She had a detailed, multi-​page questionnaire that we filled out before our first meeting, so we had gathered most of the information she needed, and we didn’t waste a bunch of time when we met. In that initial meeting, she spent about two hours asking us questions and listening to us, so the papers she drew up matched our financial situation and our intentions, as well as our (pretty complicated) family situation.
We met in her home office in Bernal Heights, which was easier to get to than her office downtown. It was a comfortable homey atmosphere in which to discuss hopes for what our later life will look like and what legacy we might like to leave.
She registered some documents for us, and notarized others, and delivered hard copies and electronic copies of all the papers when she said she would. No drama. We highly recommend her!
