I was first matched with Lane through the Marina Counseling Center, and couldn’t have been more fortunate. It takes me a long time to open up to people, but the level of patience Lane had with me was something I hadn’t experienced before. She helped me gain confidence and acceptance, and never trivialized issues the way that I had been brought up to do. Instead, she made me feel seen and safe. Often one or two of her questions or the way she reframed an issue would jumpstart me into thinking about situations in entirely new and fascinating ways. She saw me through several major transitions during my two years with her, and I felt incredibly supported through each one.
