Lance Mason’s PickUp 101

PickUp 101 appears to be a group of naturals (which they claim they are not) who recognized the Silicon Valley situation — i.e. lots of highly paid technical guys and few attractive girls — and decided to make some money out of it — their weekend seminar costs $ 2400.
I bought a SureFire Attraction Secrets ($ 78), and held a VIP Lounge membership ($ 78/​mo) for a couple of months. Here is the summary:
Pros:
— The generic content of what they teach, i.e. dress tips, body language, being funny and cocky is useful to a novice in a PU-​field.
— The money you spend on the seminar will be a motivator for you to go practice these skills everyday to get your money worth.
Cons:
— The CDs/​manuals have 10% of useful material at most, the rest is just a space-​filler.
— Same about the newsletter, that they send weekly. It has 5−10% of useful content and the rest is just an ad to enroll in their $ 2400 program.
— Worst customer service ever. Whenever I tried to call I faced the answering machine
— Even if you take the seminar/​workshops for $ 2400 — the momentum will fade if you don’t practice everyday, which most probably will be the case.
To summarize, you are better off using common sense.

As with any review you shouldn’t pay attention to a one or five star rating from someone with five or fewer total reviews. These types are either posting to get paid or posting to grind an ax.
That isn’t the Unilocal way people.

Three stars is because the service isn’t that great. As you most likely know there are pick up places all over the country and this one isn’t all that good… in fact. None of them are very good.
I even subscribed to the ‘VIP club’ for 3 months or so to see what I was missing out on. In reality all the shit that you pay for from these people (save the in person training) is disseminated about 2 weeks later to the general news letter to inflate the value of the club. I don’t see any worth in this at all.
At the same time just because I didn’t like it doesn’t mean that it can’t be cool for someone else and I would recommend this place to some friends that need to grow up when it comes to meeting and attracting women.
Mostly I wanted to point out to anyone reading the reviews of that place that just about every review is from someone that has one or two reviews and they are obviously shilling for the pickup 101 people or they have been burned by them for one reason or another.
I was inspired to write a review mostly because I think that anyone asking their newsletter readers (via an e-​mail that was supposed to be deleted from their directory) to give their joint 5 stars to reverse their negative reviews is totally bullshit.

So, the first time i heard about this. My number one reaction was «SKEPTICAL.» I personally thought that its a joke. And then, i see how it works, how cool the instructors were and i think this workshop actually does help the very many CLUELESS guys out there. Its not sleazy at all. They really teach you how to be confident and how to be comfortable with yourself and how to work your game. I can think of a couple of guys who could benefit from this (people i know). If you have the money, you should try it. Who knows, it might change your life. :)

For those of you still on the fence regarding this company and their product:
First a little back story: I remember for the bulk of my life I was a total introvert with no social skills whatsover. It wasn’t until I discovered the existence of «Pick Up Artists» 2 years ago that my life took a turn for the better. For the better part of last year I was basically freewheelin’ it, using techniques posted on the Internet, with mild to no success.
I had heard about PickUp101 and took their Art Of Attraction course this past January 2006. I will state, for the record and for perpetuity, that it was the best money I have ever spent on anything. Ever. In fact I’ll be attending their Art Of Rapport workshop next weekend, and it’s going to be awesome.
While taking Art Of Attraction, I was surprised to find out I had been doing it all wrong. Over the course of the weekend I was able to iron out a LOT of kinks in my delivery and projection of Self. You’d be surprised to learn just how quickly attraction happens, and PU101 taught me exactly how to recognize it and react to it.
Don’t think that what they teach is to pick up skanky bar chicks for one-​night stands. It is, in fact, FAR DIFFERENT and more widely applicable than you could potentially imagine.
The long and the short of it: even if you *think* you’re doing OK in the realm of being the social animal you were born to be, chances are you’ll still learn a LOT from this group of guys (and lovely ladies, on occasion).
