Ladies Who Lunch Catering and Events

I have been leery of using catering companies, but NO MORE! Ladies Who Lunch has changed my whole take on catering — WOW! Janet Weisberg listens to your wants and needs and creates a delicious menu based on fresh, healthy, organic and YUMMY food. Our Chef, Chef Chadwick Crawford was incredible, gracious, and professional. Hats off to our server as well, Yolanda Soler!
The day went smoothly, the food spoke for itself and the experienced staff made it easy. If you want food your guests will repeatedly tell you is fantastic, a staff that knows their stuff and a an Event Director who knows what she is doing, look no further.
Our menu consisted of:
Hearts of Romaine with Heirloom Beets, Shaved Bosc Pear & Toasted Pistachio with Meyer Lemon Vinaigrette
Spring Root Vegetables with Cippolini Onions and Tarragon Infused Olive Oil
Organic Farro Pearls with Forest Mushrooms, Roasted Red Peppers and Green Garlic
Grilled Pacific Bluenose Bass with Pimenton and Caper Roasted Tomatoes
Grilled Bavette of natural beef with tellicherry pepper demi glacé
Dessert — Strawberry Tart with Mint Laced Chantilly
BTW — there weren’t ANY leftovers!

Janet and her team are phenomenal! We utilized their catering services for our annual company picnic, and everything went off without a hitch. They came early to setup, stayed after to cleanup, and even picked up/​dropped off our Keg at BevMo. The food was fantastic, and they provide everything from plates/​napkins, to disposable cutlery, to juice boxes for the kids. We even requested additional ice & buckets for us to chill some Chimay, and they offered to pick that up for us as well (in order to have it chilled and ready for when our guests arrived).
They were so helpful in accommodating all dairy-​free, and gluten-​intolerant guests, by providing us with an itemized list of what they could/​could not eat. There was also a wide variety of food to choose from – not just your run-​of-​the-​mill burgers and hot dogs. There were hand-​made kobe beef burgers, veggie burgers, all beef hot dogs, chicken-​apple-​sausages, turkey sausages, and a variety of sauces and fixings.
I look forward to working with Ladies who Lunch for many years to come!

Adam has been to our place and served a business-​team dinner of 8. Wo-​hoo! The food was amazingly great. As in: been to a super-​fancy restaurant with 3 courses taste-​sensation, but it all happened at our place.
Adam was not only a nice guy but also very professional. A one-​man-​show of great cook and cool waiter guy. The food was super delicious, wine recommendations (these guys don’t have a liquor license so I shopped at Bevmo before) particularly helpful. Everyone enjoyed the event. Definitely worth a thought if you want something different than the usual catering stuff.
Adam carried all necessary things to our place and immediately when the last guests left he was out the door carrying all his belongings with him. Never thought that our San Francisco suburban home kitchen was able to cook all this amazing food! I absolutely recommend booking him!

As a wedding planner, I am neurotic about details, service and quality of food. Ladies Who Lunch surpassed my expectations and blew it out of the park!
I had met Janet last November at the TEDxFiDiWomen’s Event. I was so impressed with the food at the event that I kept her card because I knew that I wanted to work with her in the future.
Fast forward, I’ve got a 200 guest Vintage Formal Wedding Reception and my clients are passionate about food. We have a mind-​blowing tasting with Janet and Adam — we knew that they were the perfect caterer for this occasion. They were so great about customizing the flavors to reflect my clients’ taste and personality.
The guests were flabbergasted with quality and selection. There was a caterer attending as a guest who was totally blown away as well. Adam and his team were so meticulous and put so much love and attention to the food — everyone was so happy with the evening.
I’m working with LWL for a corporate reunion event in a couple of weeks and I can’t wait!
Brides — you will have peace of mind, delighted family & friends and a happy stomach by choosing LWL. I would give them 10 stars if I could.

The short version — good service, reasonable prices, a willingness to work within your budget, and most of all, delish nibblins.
Long version — Janet, who was my main contact, was quick to respond to questions and accommodate my requests. I had a small housewarming party for about 30 guests, so I didn’t need to go overboard, but still wanted yummy food to enjoy. Janet came up with an amazing menu (listed below) that fell squarely in my budget. The chef who came over, Chick Lewis, could not have been nicer or more professional. And even better, the food was amazing! All my guests raved about it and I had no leftovers. It was all consumed well before the night was over.
Here’s the menu (along with some commentary):
–Green Chile and Cheese Gougeres with Avocado Mousse (these went the fastest, probably because they were HEAVENLY)
–Housemade Baby Gnocchi with Heirloom Tomato Sauce and Savory Herbs (served on small appetizer spoons provided) (my 2^nd fave of the night)
–Grilled Bavette of Natural Beef on Crostini with Horseradish Aioli and Micro Greens (people raved about this all night long)
–Roasted Bell Peppers and Herbed Goat Cheese Panini with Arugula (needed a little kick to spice it up)
–Corn soup shooters with lime and cumin crème (on provided shooter (glasses) (delish hot, not as much as it cooled)
–assortment of Kingdom Cake Mini Cupcakes (huge hit with everyone)

We had a casual party last night for my son’s college admitted students. Enoch was our chef and Paula our server. As always with LWL, first rate!
It helps that both chefs — Adam and Enoch know my home and kitchen and dive right in. Food is always wonderful –whether it is a drop off for a high school lacrosse party, dinner for 12 with wine pairings, or as last night — casual supper for college students and parents.
One could not go wrong having this professional staff in your home. I would recommend you get to know them as they thrive on repeat business and give you phenomenal value, service and exceptional food.

I could go on and on about LWL, but all you need to know is that Adam and Janet are a joy to work with and their product is exquisite.
In general, I have lower expectations for catered food than restaurant food, but Chef Adam transcends that. Before choosing a caterer for our wedding last November, I remember reading a review for another caterer that described the food as «The best wedding food I’ve ever had». Well, with Ladies Who Lunch, your guests will be treated to some of the best *food* they’ve ever had. Period. A year+ later and our guests are still talking about the food and desserts!
I mean, Adam used to be the cheese guy for the French Laundry. How hot is that?
Aside from my wedding, I’ve worked with LWL on small professional events as well. Janet and the operations staff have always gone above and beyond to work within budget and logistical constraints, and always with a smile.
Adam and Janet obviously love what they do. You’ll love what they do, too!

Outstanding menu and service provided by Ladies Who Lunch for our recent Confrerie Des St. Vincente luncheon at CrushPad in Napa. Janet and Adam put on an amazing meal with several special treats that exceeded even our best hopes and they made our event a complete and smashing success. We very much look forward to working with Ladies Who Lunch in the future and greatly appreciate all the efforts they went to make sure we were 110% satisfied with their work. Kudos!

Gayle and I ended up drastically changing our Wedding plans from a Napa Wine Country ceremony to a small family affair at Civic Center Park in Walnut Creek. We also chose another caterer for reasons related to the complications of Wedding planning, and not as any reflection on the fine spread and service provided by Ladies who Lunch. And after having previously attended my friend Lisa’s party that was catered by them, I can tell you that the other highly positive reviews on Unilocal are spot on.

I was lucky enough to work with Ladies Who Lunch for an evening event last week.
What can I say? Socks officially blown off. Here’s what they served our group of 20:
–Truffle scented pain perdue with San Marzano tomato jam
–Homemade gnocchi w/​Honjimeiji mushrooms in a sherry vinegar beurre monte
–Celery root soup with Carrot «pearls» and caramelized onions
–Duck prosciutto with horseradish emulsion & pickled pearl onions
–Cauliflower panna cotta with American Sturgeon caviar
–Smoked white bean purée w/​balsamic glazed figs on toasted brioche
My absolute favorite was the cauliflower w/​caviar. I would never think of putting those two things together, but then again I am not the culinary director @ LWL, that is Adam Sanchez, whose impressive resume includes a couple of years at French Laundry.
In addition to food beautifully and creatively presented, the service provided is always tops. You can count on the consistency of what the kitchen presents as well as «front of house» as they work with the same crew consistently… if you work with a lot of catering companies you’ll appreciate this, it can be a real event killer when you can’t predict who is going to show up to serve the party, how much they’ll understand about fine and graceful service, etc… so, the nice thing about LWL is that they just reliably get it. Makes life a lot easier and putting on an event a lot less painless.
They can also take on orchestrating your entire event from flowers to design… if you’re not a control freak like me:-)

Last Friday was the first time we’ve had Ladies who Lunch cater our company lunches and it was fantastic.
For the main entrée they offered Coq au Vin with applewood smoked bacon, red wine, and thyme with buttered egg noodles. A nice spinach salad with citrus, pomegranate seeds and goat cheese, dressed with balsamic vinaigrette. And also for non meat eaters they had a vegetarian option of mushroom ragout over butter egg noodles
The chicken was wonderful, it was moist and tender and appeared to to be slow cooked in broth. The tastes were nicely balanced and flavor was wonderful without being too overpowering. I also sampled the mushroom ragout over egg noodles as well which was amazing.
I also pigged out on the spinach salad, the spinach was perfectly complimented by the citrus, pomegranate and goat cheese. A light vinaigrette covered the salad.
For a catering company, I must give Ladies who Lunch 4 stars as there are clear limitations to catered food. Presentation and food was wonderful.
