Business Owner

Kristen received her Master of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACTCM), and her bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of California, San Diego. Additional professional development has included various trainings in orthopedics and sports medicine, as well as completion of the Advanced Study Program in Traditional Chinese Medicine in Hangzhou, China. She is certified in Advanced Constitutional Facial Acupuncture, and has studied extensively under Dr. Edith Ubuntu Chan, DAOM, L.Ac., who is best known for her exceptional work as a holistic sports medicine practitioner.

Kristen has over 1000 hours of training in various bodywork modalities, including Shiatsu, Tui Na (Chinese orthopedic massage), and Thai massage. Most recently, she has been inspired by the work of Ortho-​Bionomy, a gentle system of healing developed to support the body in its own process of self-​recovery.

Kristen is so thoughtful, attentive and a natural healer. She is helping me with chronic shoulder pain, and any other random issue that happens to bubble up that week. She listens and takes great care in providing treatments to make symptoms go away. More than anyone i’ve worked with in natural medicine, it seems like Kristen sincerely cares about what’s going on with my body, which feels special. She’s so great to work with and I couldn’t recommend her more.

Kristen is an excellent acupuncturist. I initially found her when I was trying to solve an issue with my hand. In less than 24 hours, I went from having a fully functioning hand to not being able to pick up a water bottle. After seeing a number of healers and doctors, and at the suggestion of a friend, I went to see Kristen. By the end of day two with her, my hand was back to 80% and is now functioning fully. Needless to say, I’m continuing to see her for a range of other issues I’d like to see improve.

Kristen is great! She is by far the best acupuncturist and massage therapist that I have had the pleasure of working with. My weekly acupuncture sessions with Kristen were always the most relaxing time of the week for me. The only reason that I cannot see her any longer is because I moved from SF. Kristen is wonderful to work with. She is highly knowledgeable and always took the time to ensure that she knew exactly what was plaguing me and then did a great job of educating me on her process. I learned many things from Kristen that I now apply to my life. On top of being an expert at her craft, she is also a great conversationalist and an all around awesome person. Sessions with Kristen always left me feeling better physically, emotionally and spiritually. Yay for Kristen!

I’ve been to a great many places & Kristen is by far the best massage therapist & acupuncturist I’ve known. Just amazing. She knows what she’s doing and is able to work magic when others can’t. After finding her, I went exclusively to Kristen for over a year until I moved away to NYC. I’ve been looking for a replacement in the east coast– and have yet to find anyone who comes close. I wish she had a New York office!!!

Kristen is a truly gifted healer in both massage and acupuncture. She is a great listener, is calm and intuitive. I always have tight muscles from stress and Kristen is very patient in working with me. After our sessions I feel so relaxed, sleep better and feel calmer. I have been going to Kristen for over 2 years, and I hope she never moves her practice out of the city! She is an awesome masseuse and practitioner of Chinese methods of body work. Whether I go for general relaxation, specific issues — such as shoulder injury, back pain, or in association with enhance chiropractic treatment she nails it with laser accuracy. She often discovers things during treatment that were difficult for me to describe. I truly enjoy her treatments and holistic approaches.
And I get better results with her methods than from Western medicine. I had seen multiple sports orthopedic Dr. s for a shoulder injury — infrequent nagging sharp pain, incurred at the gym a couple years prior. They could find nothing, and suggested aspirin. I asked Kristen about it and she fixed it with 1 visit using acupuncture and suction cup treatment. She explained everything she was doing, how it will help, and what I’ll experience. Alternative — yes, surprises — no, only that she fixed it in a matter of minutes! I was amazed and grateful.
I strongly recommend Kristen — she’ll listen, understand, quickly find the root cause, and treat with great results.

Kristen introduced me to a new level of relaxation I had never experienced before.
I went to Kristen for my chronic neck /​shoulder pain. I was nervous given that this was only my second experience with acupuncture. Kristen made sure I was comfortable and relaxed throughout the entire session. She is an excellent communicator as well as healer and made me feel at ease.
