I was glad I gave this Potrero Hill hidden gem a couple visits before they closed. It’s a disappointment because Kitchen Mojo had quite an interesting Korean/Latin-fusion menu, and there were still some dishes I wanted to try(ie: snapper tacos). The first visit, we tried the shrimp kimchi po boy sandwich and the grilled BBQ chicken and kimchi burrito. The shrimp kimchi po boy is supposedly their best-seller, and I understood why. The fresh bread roll was very soft with slightly crispy and flaky edges and the shrimp were fresh, meaty, and lightly battered without being too greasy. The kimchi was very mild, so it didn’t mask any of the other flavors of the sandwich. I thought the grilled BBQ chicken and kimchi burrito was slightly tastier than the po boy. The chicken pieces were smokey, yet moist. The kimchi was spicy and the julienne vegetables added a nice crunch. Rice wasn’t used as a filler in the burrito, so overall there was a fair balance of ingredients. The second visit, we tried the spicy pork cheesesteak sandwich and the bibimbap. The spicy pork cheesesteak was more on the mild side, and the ingredients were simple, consisting of only pork and cheese. Therefore, the sandwich was lacking in terms of flavor and variety. The bibimbap was tasty and offered in a huge portion. The kalbi(BBQ beef short ribs) was good, and kimchi added a nice kick to the dish. Fresh julienne vegetables were abundant and the dish had a lot of colors, textures, and flavor. The fried egg was cooked nicely too. However, I always prefer my bibimbap to be served in a dolsot(stone pot) because I love the crispy rice at the bottom of the bowl. Overall, Kitchen Mojo was a great place to stop by for late lunch, especially because they(used to be) opened until 4PM. Their shared private parking lot made it convenient for parking too. However, the two times I ate here, the restaurant was only a quarter full, suggesting slow business. It’s unfortunate that they’re closed now.

I really love the blackened snapper tacos. There is some sort of mango or pineapple salsa which compliments the spiciness perfectly. I will definitely go back to try more dishes!

Is Kitchen Mojo now out of business? I’ve tried to go twice in the past couple weeks for lunch, but it hasn’t been open. The second time there was no menu on the board and the hours weren’t posted on the door anymore. The phones also appear to be disconnected. Sad…I really wanted to try the Popcorn Shrimp Kimchee Po Boy that everyone talks about.

This place has such an interesting variety of food. I come here every now and then for lunch with my friend who works near by. I’ve order food ranging from an enchilada to a bibimbap. Crazy combo huh? My first time here, I ordered the Korean Spicy Chicken Pineapple tacos. It was too spicy for my liking. But it comes in 3’s! I was filled up by 2. I’ve also tried the bibim salad which tasted super healthy. My friend got the bibimbap, which LOOKEDSOFREAKINGGOOD and it also tasted freaking good! The enchilada comes with curry. I was really skeptical about ordering it because I don’t like curry, but to my surprise I enjoyed it very much. Another good salad they have here is their turkey cobb, the dressing is so gooooooddd! There is also outdoor seating with umbrellas! I really like eating outside on nice sunny days, it just makes work days feel so much better. Last thing, the owners are SUPER nice! Especially the lady who works the register, She’s the sweetest!

Ordered their Philly Cheesesteak. Spicy stuff. Not too spicy, but has a kick. Not bad. Came with fries. Oddly enough these fries are the closest thing I’ve ever had to McDonalds fries, outside of McDonalds of course. Strange surprise. So I guess it has that going for it. Overall I liked it.

Whoa, I’m pretty surprised by the good ratings on Unilocal for this place. Not sure if I’ll be back. I ordered the spicy pork egg scramble. It was so salty I could barely finish it. My coworkers ordered similar flavored dishes and they either threw it away or saved it for another meal(not wanting to waste food). Definitely spoons and spoons of MSG. My pork was pretty dry, and the«ring of scramble egg» was literally that, not sure if one full egg was used. Don’t be fooled by how good it smells in the restaurant, and how good the food looks. I haven’t tried other items so it might just be the egg scramble, but honestly I don’t have much faith in a place that clearly uses loads of MSG. Also, it’s kind of deceptive of them to charge you $ 0.10 plastic bag right up front(without asking you), and then when they give you your take-out order they don’t give you the bag. They ask you whether you want one, but of course you say no as everyone usually does, unless you paid attention to the purchase. Not a huge deal, but still.

Delicious Saturday brunch spot! Easy parking and very dog-friendly patio outside. A great alternative to Plow if you’re in the neighborhood. Owners are so sweet and clearly take a lot of pride in filling tummies with delicious, flavorful food. Don’t miss the pulled pork hash or the ranchero for breakfast. Crispy potatoes and perfectly poached eggs :)

I always have a satisfactory lunch experience here. The owners are nice and loves to follow up with their customers ensuring they liked their meal. The entrees are a twist of the usual Korean fanfare with slight hints of Latin and American. My go-to dish is the Korean marinated short rib bimbimbap. Lots of carbs and protein.

I haven’t Unilocaled in probably a few years… but had to dig up the old password so I could review this place… Have you ever had a meal so good you wanted to lick your fingers, lips, chin, the inside of your mouth, and the container your food came in? Well, that was my experience today. Pork Katsu Sandwich with fries. Yummy bread, awesome sauce, and crispy fried pork with some cooling veggies that complemented everything perfectly. Hit the spot perfectly. My coworker had the same thing except with salad instead of fries, and she had the same urge to lick everything that I had. The first time I came here I had the chicken tacos. Also delicious! It’s also a good amount of food for $ 9 – 10. My experience with the staff was good, also. Very friendly and professional. I will be going back, most definitely!!!

What a terrific surprise! I was waiting for my wife yesterday and she said I should get lunch at Sally’s. When I got there it was crowded, hot inside and it smelled strongly of pancake syrup. The menu seemed underwhelming. So I wandered next door to Kitchen Mojo and one look at the menu told me I had to try it. I was a bit nervous because the place with the boring menu was packed and Kitchen Mojo with the interesting menu was a bit quiet. But I’m brave. I ordered the Shrimp Kimchi Po Boy with a salad and was blown away with the flavor and freshness that leapt out of the bun. I half expected the bread to blunt the taste of the shrimp or the Kimchi to overwhelm the shrimp but they all sung together like a chorus. The shrimp was flavorful and juicy, the kimchi was there and there was something else that I wish I had analyzed now that I’m writing this but it all worked together wonderfully. The salad was mixed greens with julienned cucumbers and a nice dressing on the side at least good enough not to make me wish I’d ordered the fries! An Anchor Steam on tap was just the thing to wash it down. For me a perfect lunch — I could have asked for nothing more. Thus 5 stars. I’m so glad I don’t(always?/usually?) listen to my wife.

I really want to like this place — it’s close to my house, super convenient. In all fairness, I only tried the turkey cobb salad. It was very«meh». It was an uninspired cobb: just turkey, avocado, small amount of tomato, mushrooms, red onion, romaine lettuce, no cheese, and fried wontons. Portion size was medium, not too small, not huge. For $ 10, I would expect a little more than a lot of lettuce and a little bit of toppings. I wouldn’t go back for a salad, but I might try the bibimbap to see if it’s better…

Got the chicken tacos, fries and a salad. I found a big piece of chicken bone in one of my tacos! I could have choked on it! The only edible thing we ordered was the fries! And they weren’t that spectacular. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place.

I LOVE Kitchen Mojo — I’ve been there four times and have gotten something different each time, never disappointed. The korean flavors are a really great surprise that makes me realize how long it’s been since something tasted this NEW. Love the Kimchi Shrimp Po Boy and the Korean Chicken Tacos. Great price and quick service round it out well. Mike and Winona are very welcoming and fun to talk to as well. Highly recommended!

I remember being pleased to read three years ago that Pizza Nostra had been bought by Winona and Michael who used to own Choppers which was one of my favorite places for lunch. Loved Pizza Nostra until it was sold. The new owners just didn’t get it. So … I was really happy when Winona and Michael took the restaurant back and re-opened it as Kitchen Mojo. Great and innovative food and Winona’s creative side really gets a chance to shine in this new restaurant. I have also been a fan of HRD’s novel spin on Korean/Mexican cuisine and was happy to know that David, of HRD, had partnered with Winona in Kitchen Mojo. Clearly, it’s a successful partnership. Everything is so good, and I’m looking forward to trying the bibimbap salad on my next visit. It looked amazing when served to the adjacent table. Oh, and their fries are terrific!

Market and Rye next door had a line that was too long… so a friend and I wandered into Kitchen Mojo. We stood outside of the store trying to decipher the menu and needless to say, were pretty confused at what the place was. I think they describe themselves as an Asian Mexican American Fusion. Not gonna lie, that’s definitely one of the more interesting combinations that I’ve ever had. The place is pretty small but cozy enough and had enough seats for the people that were around. I ordered the pork katsu with white rice and my friend just had a turkey burger. Overall, my pork katsu was alright. Okay sticky rice, crispy pork in curry sauce that flavored my rice, and an interesting side salad. I don’t even know what the vegetable is called in English, but I’ve only ever had it while eating in my Chinese household, so it was definitely a surprise to see it being served in a restaurant. It wasn’t bad, but maybe I’m just not into that kind of taste yet. Price wise… pretty typical of the area. $ 10 lunch. It wasn’t a bad experience, but I’m not sure I would cite it as the best place ever. People next to me ordered the Kalbi bibimbap which smelled delicious. I just felt a bit weird ordering bibimbap in an Japanese? Place? I definitely agree with the person below who said it is quite the identity crisis. tldr; nothing special? Nothing that blew my mind. Might go back to try out some of the more fusion-esque dishes

I really wanted to like this place because the owners were very friendly, but unfortunately I was disappointed by the food. I ordered the shrimp po’ boy and while it was served on a fresh roll(it had that lovely fresh bread smell), the shrimp was overcooked, and my fries, while moist on the inside, were not crispy on the outside. Plus there were only 4 shrimps on my $ 10 sandwich. In general, the Korean flavors are extremely mild, nothing like HRD Café’s bold flavors. In my opinion, successful fusion food mixes bold flavors from different cuisines to create something extraordinary, doing a half-assed job of each flavor profile just doesn’t cut it. Here is the menu: But note that chicken katsu has been replaced by pork katsu.

WHYDID I MOVEAWAY?!! Having lived in Pot Hill for almost 3 years, I wasn’t surrounded by a lot of food choices. Of course when I move away does my favorite restaurant(HRD) decide to partner up with a Pot Hill local to create Kitchen Mojo! Since it’s only opened for lunch(M-F 12−2PM, Sat/Sun 11−4PM…I think so call to make sure first!), getting here was always a bit tricky for me. I finally was able to go this past weekend. I was so confused when walking in because I noticed it was the old owners of Pizza Nostra staffing the place and no one from the usual HRD crowd. But then I saw the menu and got overwhelmed deciding what to order because it all sounded SOGOOD! Ended up going with their Fried Shrimp Po Boy with korean coleslaw and kimchi aioli sauce. Side of fries topped the meal. Po Boy was delicious, shrimp was fat and juicy, and the coleslaw(which I don’t usually like) made for a great fusion in my mouth. Portions are huge a la HRD style as always. Great space with lots of inside and outside seating with a small parking lot. Since Kitchen Mojo has done almost no marketing, not too many people know about it yet so start going now because not too long from now, lines will be forming out the door.

This place is located in pot hill next to market & rye. It just recently opened but I’ve heard really good things about it. It has a cool and relaxed feel to it. I recommend eating outside with a beer in one hand and a sandwich in the other. I got the shrimp Po boy and it was delicious. The bread was just the right texture. I’ll definitely be back.

Kitchen Mojo occupies the middle space in this commercial strip. managed to get a parking space in the lot before the lunch crowd arrived. drill: order and pay at cashier station(cash only now). food brought to table. menu: salad, hamburgers, sammies, some asian fusion eats: fried crisp pork katsu(8.75) –panko fried pork loin with lettuce, cabbage, tonkatsu sauce, wasabi, cheese etc in bun. –sammie small, pork dry, flavors not tasted thru the bun –pork katsu outside the bun was tasty. –lots of shoestring fries, crispy, tasty –more confusion than fusion, identity crisis 3 stars. not a good value. crumbs: –sammie small, burger @8.75 –service ok, not that busy. –parking maybe an issue if busy. –credit cards will be accepted soon.

If you took HRD café, added street parking, room for your elbows, and removed the line to order, this is called Kitchen Mojo. Give em a shot. You won’t be sorry.
