Through both subtle and deep modalities, I facilitate opening and releasing of deep patterns of tension so that you may feel more alive and balanced in your body and life. I work with specific injuries & chronic pain patterns to help restore movement and ease to your body. WIth CranioSacral Therapy, I help to promote the health of your entire mind & body through deep relaxation.

History

Established in 2008.

In 2003, I graduated from NHI with a foundation in both Western and Eastern styles of massage including Swedish, Deep Tissue, Lymphatic, Pre-​natal, Shiatsu and Thai. I am currently deepening my study of Biodynamic CranioSacral Therapy, which works with your nervous system to release tension, create relaxataion, deepen sleep, and restore health.

My bodywork practice is fueled by my passion for learning, combined with an interest in wellness. I believe that health is our inherent nature, and it’s my commitment to help people find balance in their bodies and lives so that they may experience their optimal health daily.

Growing up in the Bay Area, where I was able to take dance, swim, and ski, gave me an appreciation of the human body and all of its abilities. While living in Lake Tahoe, I practiced yoga and met bodyworkers who inspired me to pursue a career in health.

Since 2004, I have worked in some of the top spas and wellness centers in San Francisco, including Bliss Spa and SenSpa Presidio. In 2008, I started my own private practice, Currently, I have a studio at Synergy Wellness and work with clients in home. In my practice, I have worked with a wide range of clients, many with special needs, including stressed-​out executives, pregnant women, families, competitive athletes and the elderly.

Katie is wonderful. I have very tight muscles (particularly calf, shoulder, and neck muscles), which require very deep tissue work. She works on me in a way that goes deep into the muscles to release them while minimizing my discomfort. Her demeanor is attentive, but relaxed. It’s a pleasure to see someone as knowledgeable, skilled, and caring as she is.

I’ve been getting bodywork from Katie since soon after arriving in SF, and every session has been transformative in unlocking my body further. She has an excellent understanding of the body and how forces and tension move through it such that she can find the core tightness that is pulling my body out of alignment, even when that is distant from the location of pain I’m aware of. This means that sessions with her are deeply healing and transformative, rather than just treating the symptom.
The wide range of techniques at her disposal allows her to tackle any problem with a variety of approaches and find the way that will be most receptive to your body and condition. Further, she is full of knowledge and one of my great joys is geeking out about bodies and discussing her insights during the session, so that I come away with both a happy body, and new ideas.
I’ve had *lots* of body work in my life, from a range of modalities and skill levels. For me Katie ranks in the top tier of expert healers and is who I recommend to all my friends when they ask for help with their bodies.

Katie brings both a deep technical understanding of massage and healing modalities as well as intuitive touch that makes each session with her phenomenal. I’ve been seeing Katie for 5 months now, and my body is so much the better for it. Whether it’s deep work on a specific area, an all over gentle massage, or, possibly best of all, craniosacral work, Katie always exceeds my expectations for a massage therapist. I can’t recommend her enough!

I have been searching for the right massage therapist for many years and now I have found her! Katie is amazingly strong, careful, and knows the human body well. She has a great intuition and can find those spots in your body that really need to be worked on — even if they aren’t the ones you thought of! I have also done one Cranio-​Sacral session with her that helped open up my chonically clogged sinuses!
I highly recommend Katie, especially if you’re looking for a deeply therpeutic massage. Nothing better than a massage with Katie, an epsom salt bath, and off to bed!
