Kaiser Permanente Pediatrics and Radiology Department

Love, love, love Dr. Kota. She really cares about my child. She makes my child feel at ease and has great conversations with me about what is going on. She never tries to rush us out and spends a lot of time in the room discussing best treatment.

There is not any options of 0 star. They are letting me die of cough. Only cough. But they are not giving right medicine to me. Its more than two weeks. i am confused, how di they treat other people ???

Maybe I went on a bad day but everyone here just seemed so occupuied with their own personal conversations. Totally not professional for such an important establishment like a hospital!
Upon registering for a blood test, the clerk at the front was gossiping away in Spanish with whom looks like the Hospital janitor sitting on the floor behind her desk. She didn’t even greet me or anything just held out her hands for my cards and asked if I was there for a blood test.
She decided to hand me my paperwork on the opposite side of the counter from where I was standing. I guess she’s too lazy to work those shoulder muscles at the higher counter from where I’m standing.
Yeah ok whatever, go back to gossiping about your Novelas.
Then inside the lab the two «techs» were going on and on about their personal lives… WHILE DRAWING BLOOD!
When the guy tech was done, he just called out «next». Hellooo, we were issued numbers for a reason. On a busy day how could you call out «next». Luckily I didn’t get this bafoon because he asked the next patient all about his personal life and racial makeup for no reason other than just to make small talk.
My tech was a little less nosy about me but still all into the other tables conversations about their racial histories. So much that she even pauses between tasks to butt in on their conversations. After a glare from me she finally shuts up and focuses.
Kaiser is the cheapest option for me and many people. Unfortunately it comes with this kind of high school socializing work environment. Totally inappropriate. Totally unprofessional.
Since I’m stuck with Kaiser, I’d rather go over to the main building on Geary. Even though it’s a bit of a wait, the workers there are a bit better behaved.

I am not a huge fan of Kaiser, but it is always the cheapest option and more and more employers start to offer this as the only option. I hate that if you go to one Doctor at Kaiser and decide you need the second opinion, even if you see another Doctor in a completely different location, everything is in the system and the second Doctor just agrees with the first. We had to get a second opinion for our daughter at another hospital and pay out of pocket, because we were not comfortable with the diagnosis. I am glad we did because we were able to treat our child. She just had a gluten allergy, not crazy stuff that Kaiser was telling us.

Their appointment system is easy to use. Checking in is very quick. Their waiting room is spacious and has a fish tank and some play areas.
The nurses and doctors are friendly, informative, and so great with little ones. The pediatrician we had before Kaiser would rush out of the room ASAP when my babe got fussy. The staff here, though, is so sweet. They are great at redirecting curious babies, letting them have their own measuring tape or letting them hold the cord of the stethoscope. We meet with Dr. Lee and he’s great. Very thorough and he gives me lots of useful info about caring for my baby. The times my bb had to get shots, the nurses were quick and he hardly cried. I love Kaiser so far!
The only issue you have to watch out for is parking. Avoid the garage at all costs. If it’s full, you have to drive around the entire thing, with crazy traffic, to get out. Street parking is easier and quicker.

WOW what a great first experience with the Kaiser group. I’m used to paper work at every location, no one takes notes, less then clean facilities, referrals to other locations that would’ve taken weeks and unknown costs.
Also love that everyone seemed to be concerned with healthy living i.e. do you smoke, do you exercise, do you eat right, etc… Which is what the general public desperately needs!
Expectations way surpassed!

when my husband’s company switched to kaiser, i was really apprehensive about the care we were going to receive for our son. i’ve heard horror stories and figured we were really in for it.
it has now been a year that we’ve been with kaiser and we have definitely visited this location more than a few times for check-​ups, bad colds, shots, ear infections and all the other things that come with having a young child. i received a recommendation from a friend to see dr. dewey woo and he is currently my son’s primary doctor. we have been incredibly happy with his care. his bed-​side manner is gentle and kind, which makes my son very comfortable and check-​ups run smoothly. he is thorough during routine check-​ups as well as patient and willing to answer all and any questions you may have, no matter how simple the issue or worrisome you may be.
not only is the doctor great, the rest of the staff is pleasant– nurses, front office, pharmacy staff, parking attendant– have all been good encounters. i’m very pleased and almost surprised! this isn’t the awful and sluggish kaiser care i had heard of!
whenever my son has a high fever or we have other concerns, we call kaiser and are able to speak to the nurses immediately. they will usually set up a phone appointment with our doctor within the hour and this can sometimes save you the trip of coming in if it ends up not being as serious as you thought. it’s a great perk. also, if you do end up having to go in last minute – we have had no problems setting up an appointment at the end of the day or even on a weekend or holiday. we’ve continuously received respectful, prompt and wonderful care from this location.
