Nice little place to grab a croissant or some hot tea. The owners are a bit snappy to each other but I love seeing a quirk or two in service. It’s so boring to experience absolutely perfect humans behind the counter. The owners are very kind but my parents said they didn’t like the coffee very much. My mother loves her white chocolate chip cookie and my chai tea was delicious(and they had soy milk on hand!). Definitely stop by if you want a cheap, quick snack.

All about supporting small, family and immigrant-owned businesses! Especially the two folks who run this place — so kind and accommodating. And gotta love me some Mitchell’s thin mint ice cream! A very happy and cheap alternative to the more expensive gelato you’ll usually find around North Beach. Everyone should stop by!

Found this place walking around looking for food. If your here the patti melt croissants and French toast are awesome. Yeah it’s small but it’s an eatery. So eat and enjoy. My family loved it and will be back again to explore the menu. Btw the coffee was good too.

Barely passable steak sandwich that was made with canned cheese for $ 7.95, $ 2 more for iced tea that is cheaply made. This place will probably survive by catching unaware tourists who stumble on this place amid finer venues in north beach.

Excellent, fresh bagel sandwiches and never a wait. My goto for a quick morning meal before commuting out of the city.

This place has AMAZING breakfast sandwiches! I had the breakfast croissant with turkey jalapeños and avocado. My mouth is watering thinking about it and I already just ate one! The other restaurants nearby are all just a hype. Come here if you want a very delicious breakfast bagel of croissant sandwich!

The food was delicious. I had a breakfast bagel with cream cheese, bacon, egg & avocado & a great iced soy mocha. This is definitely a laid back experience, came here on a Sunday with some girlfriends and we sat on the patio.

I ordered the French toast here, it was pretty good but the rest of my food was slightly bland. The service was fast, almost to the point of being rushed. It looks like they also have a small selection of pastries. Overall, I would come again for an easy and inexpensive breakfast.

Maybe two. Three. Four. Five bites. Soon my delicious Belgium waffle topped with fruit was gone. Three. Four. Five sips. Soon my mild sugar free vanilla Americano was gone. $ 10 plus tax for the above. WiFi included. Perfect combo on a cold city day. Décor isn’t anything special. Exceptionally kind and attentive staff are. Justa do it.

Justa Bite has an interesting menu that includes, salads, sammies, omelets, Chinese food, and pastries. So what does one order at a place like this? The chef salad. It was ok, everything tasted fresh, I added avo to it, which was good. For the full review please visit:

I was meeting friends… so I got there a little early and, as I got two feet in the door, the gentleman behind the counter(whom I could barely see) yelled: YOUWANTCOFFEE? got up to the counter and said, O I am waiting for some co-workers & will wait for them to come., and sat down in EMPTY café. After a minute(maybe less), he said: You cannot wait in here. So I stood outside the door to wait for co-workers in the cold. NEVERAGAIN!!!

Worst place ever! I live down the street and decided to try this out one day. Walked in to 2 old Asian people who were very rude. We ordered a sandwich and fries and threw it away. It was impossible to speak to the owner about how wrong the order was and i gave up. I honestly don’t know how they stay in business– they probably have owned teh building for ages in their family and have low overhead. Its always empty and if someone is inside its either a soon to be disappointed tourist or little Chinese kids after school. Go anywhere around there and you will be pleased.

I don’t know why I decided to come here when there’s a gazillion other(BETTER!) places in the North Beach area. I arrived lugging my laptop and backpack because I was determined to have a productive day ie not be on any social media sites and actually get some work done that needed completing. I blame my choice of coming here on the fact that I was tired, my back hurt, and I was cranky about having to do work… that can definitely hinder one’s common sense. Or maybe it was because they had signs in the windows that said they had Mitchell’s ice cream and cookies. I don’t know. ANYWAY. It was COMPLETELY empty inside and very drafty. The elderly couple that greeted me were very blunt and didn’t give me a warm welcome at all. «Hi, what do you want.» — that’s literally how they greeted me I ended up getting a cookie(which wasn’t too bad, but I could’ve baked my own) and a cappuccino. I settled into a corner table and got my laptop out, ready to work diligently. After about, say, 30 minutes, I was feeling the effects of drinking a cupful of tea so I asked the lady if I could use their bathroom and she said they didn’t have a bathroom. WHAT??? No bathroom? –_– So I ended up packing my stuff and going to the library across the street. I guess the good part of the day was that I actually got stuff done at the library.

This place is where breakfast goes to die. No, where ALLFOOD goes to die. The owner is not familiar with his own menu. Their sandwiches are bland, their fries oily, omelets nasty and they cannot get an order right. Martin L said NOBELLPEPPERS three times, and I saw the man write it down. Out comes the omelet… with bell peppers! And when we told him he just said OH, OHOH then backed away quickly. No apology. Eric T. ordered vegetable dumplings because we had a vegetarian. Alas, they were pork dumplings. We ordered two servings of fries, but only got one. And he brought his little notepad to us so we can see he only wrote down one order. How is that our fault? Food is terrible, service is terrible. There’s no one eating here for a good reason! Not worth the risk! Wait the 1 hour at Mama’s PLEASE.

This place was soooo bad. We were in SF for one night, and in the morning we were planning to go to Mama’s for breakfast(based off the great Unilocal reviews). When we showed up to Mama’s on a Friday morning with a line down the block, we decided to find another breakfast spot. My boyfriend wanted something«basic,» meaning eggs and toast, not some«fancy» place with pastries and the like. We came across Justa Bite, and the menu appeared to be ok. The first red flag that we ignored was that no one else was there. Not a single person eating or drinking coffee. The second red flag were the flies that were everywhere. The older gentleman that helped us was nice enough, but the food was simply inedible. Everything we ordered was drowning in oil: the eggs were flat and greasy, the hashbrowns left a film in my mouth. I tried putting ketchup on the hashbrowns to make them edible, but the ketchup could hardly be defined as such. It was simply red sauce that held no similarities to what any American would call ketchup. Even the coffee was bad. It was weak and I’m sure the cream curdled in my cup. Because my boyfriend eats just about anything, he didn’t think it was that bad, but I walked out hungry and a little angry that we chose to stay here. After«eating,» I asked to use their bathroom. I would have preferred to pee in my pants than use their facilities. Clearly this was not a public restroom, but c’mon. It was tiny — I couldn’t help but touch the dirty walls just standing in there, and there was no soap or hot water in the sink. NOHOTWATERCOMINGOUTOFTHESINK! I’m no health inspector, but I’m pretty sure that is a major violation. Save your money and go elsewhere!

I didn’t have much time, no cash, and I wanted justa bite. I saw the Visa logo in the window and the menu looked okay so I went in. I wasn’t sure what I wanted so it took me 5 to 10 minutes to choose. The man a the counter was friendly and patient until I pulled out my Visa card. «No, $ 10 minimum for credit card» What! my order was nearly $ 7 and didn’t most places stop doing this in like 1998? And even then it was usually $ 5 and sometimes $ 3. So I told him to «forget it» in a firm but polite tone. This angered him, «fine!» Clearly is was my fault that he has a dumb ass credit card policy. Now that I’ve read the newer reviews here before writing this one, I’m thinking about sending him a thank you note for saving me from the food!

A cute, quaint, chinese-owned café in North Beach. I don’t know why, but I was suffering from a really bad cold, and I had their lemon ginger tea. For some reason I felt so much better sitting there, sipping it. It’s a small place, great to watch the rain fall. I did not try the food so I could not vouch for that. I did see that they have a plethora of cookies and mitchell’s ice cream. The woman behind the counter was very nice to me… but I can see how she might be a bit surly, as she brushed off some people who tried to come and get quarters in change to pay the meter. Yet and still the pastries and coffee in this café are probably cheaper than you wll get in the Italian cafes in North Beach, so if you just want to go in for a quick coffee, tea, or pastry, I guess it’s a pretty okay place.

Free wi-fi is the only plus at this bare-minimum coffeehouse. I went in for the wireless and felt compelled to review. Well, there’s free wi-fi — but then only one electrical socket to plug into in the whole place. In the back of the baked goods cooler. If you order a scoop of Mitchell’s ice cream here, you are charged an extra 25¢ for a cone, or for a cup-and-spoon. This struck me as incredibly stupid. Just raise your original asking price, don’t insult the customer. Perhaps I could’ve saved 25¢ by asking the woman behind the counter to scoop it into my hand. The fact that their background ambiance consists of blasting Muzak versions of soundtrack music doesn’t help anything. Lots of Muzak-ized Titanic soundtrack. [shudder] Another reason that during my time at Justa Bite I was the only person sitting in the entire place on a weekday. And no customers stopped in. I can’t imagine this place being long for this world under its current owners. Recommended? = Authoritatively no. Within easy ambling distance there’re far-better cafes with better atmosphere, seating, and offerings. I don’t know if the people behind this establishment are doing their best, but it certainly doesn’t feel like it.
