Description

Specialties

I specialize in helping singers in their quest to strengthen their voice, change their style, as well as lower or raise their key. Also, I help people who think they can’t sing, or think they are tone deaf, begin to experience the joy of singing. The two methods I use to teach are «Natural Singing» and «Dramatic Singing». Natural Singing teaches students that the muscles engaged when singing move involuntarily. Dramatic Singing teaches students what I have come to learn over the years: if you can talk you can sing. Singing is sheer joy.

To give students practice singing in front of others, I offer a Sunday singing party from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, in a «safe for singing» environment.

History

Established in 1987.

I have been successfully using my own teaching method which is different from any that I have experienced or read about. To date, I have had only private students who were referred by other students or other musicians. I am starting to advertise for students wanting group lessons. My methods include Dramatic Singing for pitch challenges, and Natural Singing to protect the throat.

Meet the Business Owner

Heather V.

Business Owner

I started formal voice training in 1979. My major at San Francisco State University was «Teaching Creative Arts». I soon developed a successful teaching method for the young child in all areas of the creative arts. I owned and operated a creative arts preschool in the inner sunset. In addition, I developed a successful method for teaching adults to sing. Also, I write and perform jazz/blues as «Lady Love». I sing and teach in all genres, and I perform at every opportunity «just for the fun of it.»

«Sheet music will be transposed to your key for a low cost. Myself and musician friends use them regularly.»
