I have never been compelled to review a business on Unilocal until recently when I found out that my art dealer, Joe, had created a profile.
Joe is truly a neighborhood treasure. A fixture in his community for over 15 years now. He displays his art in his marvelous home and invites the public twice a year for an open show. These events have all the panache you would expect from a major gallery showing, yet one thing is different. The prices! You would likely be able to buy 5 pieces from Joe with the money you would spend on 1 from a gallery downtown.
Upon arrival to the show you will be plied with a healthy glass of wine and then you are free to peruse the vast quantities of high quality pieces that reside in Joes collection. A task I have yet to fully complete despite numerous visits. There’s absolutely zero pressure on you to buy anything and Joe is happy to any questions you may have in great detail.
You will not find a more honest, decent man to buy art from; no matter where you look. I, myself, have purchased several pieces from Joe and hope to continue doing so for many years to come.

We met Joe more than 15 years ago. We wandered into a show he was doing and saw a piece that we really liked. After talking with him we got a good feeling about the guy and decided to buy the piece. Since then, we’ve purchased many works of art from Joe. And we’ve since met many other people who are repeat customers. He carefully checks the provenance of the pieces that he sells, and he charges a fair price. You really can’t go wrong buying from Joe. He has an extensive inventory (prints, oils, and sculptures), good prices, and he’s a delightful person. What more can you ask for?

Have you ever found an art dealer that you trusted? It’s mostly sell, sell, sell and at the highest price possible. Well meet Joe. He is the owner of Joseph Grossman Fine Art and where I procure all my art. He is honest, knowledgeable and will tell you the real value of a painting. There are so many pieces to choose from and it is forever changing as he is constantly collecting. The gallery is in Joe’s house, where art can be seen by appointment, or if you are on his mailing list, he has two open houses during the year. Joe and his wife Julie are delightful. Come look at the art, have a glass of wine, and walk out with an understanding of art that you didn’t have before and hopefully a fabulous piece of art at a very fair price.

Joseph Grossman Fine Art has been a wonderful resource for my wife and I. We discovered them years ago when we lived nearby. We have made their open houses ‘must attend’ events when he has them. He has periodic open houses and they are delightful and informative. He usually has them a few times a year. He and his wife, Julie, are such gracious hosts. We have purchased pieces from him and would again. His prices are reasonable and doing business with him is a pleasure.

Joseph is the nicest most honest art collector and seller out there. He is originally from France and will offer you a glass of wine when you visit him because tradition and religion come first. It was an amazing experience buying art from Joe. Not only does he know everything about the art he collects but what makes his art special is he personally travels to France to buy them. Also it should be noted that he is very non-​chalant and easy to talk to. He never pressures you to buy anything which makes a big difference in my opinion.
Even if you dont plan to buy art from him it may help to visit him as you will leave learning something from the experience.
