This is my favorite Thai spot in the city! The staff are really friendly and they greet me using my name and they know my order. My favorite dish is the pumpkin curry with tofu. SO yummy!

This was my go to Thai spot in the city as you can read my precious review. Until something has changed. I don’t know what it is but it’s changed. The flavors became less exciting and much more bland although it may be healthier but I’m not ordering here to have less sodium I’m ordering here on my chest days. The quality of the dishes have definitely fell short and is not up to par and I’m very sad about it. Come back!

Not too bad for a thai place near japantown, sf. Seems family owned. Food was alright but the service was definitely friendly. Not too wow’ed by the food but if in the area for a movie, not a bad place to check out

Great food. Service was terribly slow. Not that busy but everything seemed to move extremely slowly. It was painful.

Home style Thai made literally by a single cook. Don’t ever expect to receive your food at the same time. And if there are a bunch of people, then just forget it. Spicy is never spicy enough and they don’t have a spice rack. When you ask, they will give you hot sauce or red pepper depending on how they translate your request and never actually ask which one you want.

Very good Thai. Really recommend the pumpkin curry. It exceeded my expectations. Also do the coconut sticky rice. You really need to come here. Shut up. Just come here.

Whenever we’re in Japantown we come to Jitlada. We love Thai food and this is the best I’ve had so far.

I really enjoyed my togo order. Stuffed Eggplant app, Green Curry Chicken main. The eggplant app far exceeded expectations. Green Curry was very good; I ordered hot, should’ve gone xtra hot. Used EAT24 to place/pay for order. Worked great!

Fantastic Thai cuisine! The restaurant was surprisingly pretty empty on a weekend evening. Service was quick and attentive. We ordered the basil stuffed eggplant($ 10). This was such a unique delicious appetizer. You could really taste the strong basil flavor in the sauce. We loved it! For an entrée got the pad kee mao($ 11) with beef. The flavors were so savory and again you could really taste the basil which was great! The flat thick noodles were cooked so well. It’s a large serving size and you could share this dish alone with another person and be full. The other entrée we got was the yellow curry($ 11) with chicken. Wow this was the highlight of the meal for me. A bit spicy but perfectly flavored and hit the spot. Loved how soft the potatoes were. Unfortunately it doesn’t come with rice so we ordered a bowl for an extra $ 2.

Came here for dinner on a Sunday around 7pm, and the restaurant was surprisingly pretty empty. I ordered the pumpkin curry with prawns with a side of brown rice. The prawns were overcooked, and I wish there was a variety of vegetables besides just kabocha, but the flavor of the curry and the large pieces of kabocha were super satisfying. It was a large enough portion that I ended up not really eating my rice, so you can easily share a curry dish, a bowl of rice, and an appetizer! One thing that I didn’t like was that there was a delay of around 10 – 15 minutes from when the first person got their entrée to the last. The timing could definitely be better. Other than that, service was friendly and decently attentive.

I randomly stumble across Thai restaurants when I need a snack. Sunday evening– decent amount of people. The layout is pretty unique but it works well. The Christmas balls dangling on the ceiling are cool. Service– it was okay. Not the best nor the worst. Food– I Ordered«Wrap me Up» for $ 10, it’s on the Chef special menu. It is 6 large spinach leaves, each topped with toasted coconut, mine had like 2 teeny cubes of the following:(per leaf) red onion(supposed to be shallots), carrot, ginger, and 1⁄3 of a shrimp. It was served with a tamarind sauce. Pretty presentation. Good mix of flavors but it wasn’t satisfying. I was sad with the teeny amount of shrimp. It was a very sweet dish, I wish there was a little more«oomph» to it. Ps– for the bathrooms you have to go all the way back, get a key & go through the kitchen. Maybe someday I’ll stumble across this place again and try an entrée.

I had the chicken sausage soup which had vermicelli noodles and egg drop. It’s a light and healthy alternative to an entrée when eaten with a bowl of white rice. My boyfriend got a pad kee mow which was fine. I was a bit confused that rice doesn’t come with entrees such as curry. But they are options as a side, along with brown rice, coconut sticky rice, and peanut sauce(why??). I liked the atmosphere, fairly fancy décor and normal(not shady) customers. I’d come here again to try the black sticky rice with mango, and some type of curry next time when I’m really hungry.

Top dishes: Trout in banana leaf Pumpkin curry with tofu — tofu soaks up the flavor well Skip next time: Evil princess — review highlight, unique dish, but I like many of the other great dishes better

Ambience is super nice and food is quite good. I’m not really buying their special menu thingy. However, we got 3 dishes and they were all very tasty Tom yum: pretty standard dish. Portion is pretty big and everything tastes fresh. We also ordered a noodle dish that was the first one in the menu which I forgot the name. It has coconut based sauce. Service was quite slow so be prepared for that

There’s a restaurant in LA with the same name and I’ve always thought that restaurant was overrated. So when my friend suggested Jitlada before our movie at Sundance Kabuki Theater, negative thoughts came to mind and I was initially hesitant. I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. I love that you can just walk right in. I’m so tired of waiting in never-ending lines or making reservations weeks in advance just to eat in this city. We ordered the Crying Tiger salad, Khao Soi noodles, and Red Curry. The flavors are definitely toned down for the American palate(unlike the Thai places in Thai Town LA) but still delicious. The Crying Tiger could’ve used a bit more of a kick. I thought it was odd that the noodles in the Khao Soi were linguine but I suppose it tasted alright. The red curry had a disproportionate amount of veggies compared to meat but my friend enjoyed it, nonetheless. With 1 thai iced tea and 1 brown rice, total damage with tax and tip was about $ 45. I guess it’s cheaper than the incredibly overpriced Osha and grading on a curve, I rate it 4 stars.

Came here for dinner last night with my husband, looking to cure our post-vacation Blues. We just got back from a two week vacation in Thailand, where we developed a severe addiction to khao soi and panang curry. This place did not disappoint! While the khao soi wasn’t exactly like chiang mai’s version, it was tasty and the panang curry was great. Crowd-wise, it was moderately busy for an early Friday night dinner. No reservations needed. Also, my Thailand loving heart melted when I heard the staff greet one of their regulars with a friendly«sawasdee ka»(Thai for«hello»). We will definitely be back!

Disclaimer: I live so close to this place that Unilocal is suggesting that I check-in even though I’m sitting at home, so this review may be biased by the fact that it is so ridiculously convenient. But still I think my opinion is valid when I say that this is a really solid Thai place: it serves delicious and reliable food and is(somehow) never crowded. And I went to school in a city with pretty great Thai food, so I have pretty high standards. I recommend getting a curry with rice, as all of the curries I’ve had have been delicious. Of all the curries I’ve tried, green curry is my favorite. It’s really flavorful and thick with a nice hint of coconut. If spicy food is your thing, get the Evil Princess Curry, which is spicy and savory. It’s unlike any other curry I’ve tried so far. The Red Curry is also delicious, though a bit on the salty side. I have yet to try the noodles, but my friends have had good things to say about the Pad Thai and Pad See Ew(I think the Pad See Ew might go by a different name, though). Portions are very generous and prices are quite reasonable. Service is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is calm and cozy(like the rest of Japantown, except when there’s ramen/JPop festivals). If you’re in the area and looking for something other than ramen and Korean food, walk up Buchanan and visit this unassuming restaurant with great Thai food.

This place is authentic, delicious and a hidden gem! I came here with friends on a Saturday night and was surprised to find that there was no wait at all. I recommend getting the green curry, mango salad and Evil Princess curry. The curries are creamy and rich. Rice doesn’t come with the dishes so you’d need to order that separately.

3.5 stars. Pretty solid food but can’t distinguish it from many thai places in the city. Tom kha gai soup w ith coconut milk: wish that they haf a better ingredient to liquid ratio but taste of the soup was good. Evil princess curry with chicken: it was so so. Wasn’t blown away especially given how many people recommended it. I prefer my curries to be hearty and has quite a bit of vegetables and chicken, and this one just didn’t meet the expectation. The napa cabbage and spinach shrank quite a bit in the curry soup — not sure if they are the best ingredients to put inside a curry. Sauteed eggplant with tofu: liked the eggplant — the tofu was mediocre. Given how many restaurants there are in SF, I probably won’t be back here. Thai basil downtown is much better.
