Jim and his wife are super sweet people. They always greet me and say goodbye whenever I am in there. Their sausage croissant sandwich is great! They have a big selection of candy, drinks, and even some alcohol. This corner spot also offers B’fast sandwiches(as mentioned earlier) and even some lunch items. If you use a CC just know that there’s a $.50 additional charge.

Popped in twice. First was the Chicken Salad sammich and the next time was the BLT. I asked for a fresh BLT and didnt want the one made an hour ago sitting on the counter wrapped and ready to go. Dude was like«its gonna take 5 mins». Well then ill wait 5 mins, LOL! He looked hella pissed but at the end was back to his little ol’ self thanking my money! Place is good because they use that heavy«aint so good for you» mayo. Just ask for it on the lighter side or none at all and your good. He is kinda pricey for a lil hole in the wall that sells socks too. At least the meat isnt skimp!

I finally decided to give it a shot after reading previous review. I too got an avocado sammich. It was good enough, but my one complaint I got is this: quoted price was $ 4.75 but when I got ready to pay, the price became $ 5.25. I hate surprises and wish they would just state the price after taxes already. It makes me feel deceived if I can’t see the price advertised. Anywho, it looked like they had a variety of things to choose — from sammiches, to a few hot food dishes, cup of noodles, hard boiled eggs(50¢), or chips(small ones $ 1), etc. The lady tried to get me to try the curry chicken by saying she’d give me extra chicken, but I’m not a big fan in the first place of that dish. I asked for chicken teriyaki but she said that was yesterday. I think I will have to revisit to see what that’s all about. TBC…

My friend and I went into this place after running out of places to get vegan lunch in the area. My friend was asked«What girl is that for?» while his avocado sandwich was made. He ran with it and it was a running thing for a few weeks. Now we have a vegan Korean noodle dish prepared specially for us every Thursday. This sign says it all: The outside matches the rest of Illinois street, a bit nondescript and gritty. The inside is a bit under-lit. But it is the only place in town you can get both your sandwich and socks. There is your basic sandwich menu, including avocado, daily specials like soup or spaghetti, boxes of chips, a wide selection of beverages, and a variety of sundries, even some clothing.
