Jeffrey’s Toys

Love looking at toys, I can’t lie. Jeffrey’s has a good selection. Closing, obviously, so that’s it.
I really hope a high-​end restaurant serving artisanal, local organic New American food comes in, San Francisco is really lacking in those! Or perhaps a spot that sells glasses frames that really help you show off your unique style? Oh lord, PLEASE!

I’ve come here before to grab a quick toy.
I think today is the last day it’s open. I don’t see that many comic and toy stores in the area so this is going to be a pretty big loss to Market. I’m not sure what is going to replace it but chances it will be a restaurant of some sort.
It looks like SF is getting too expensive for its own good. The rent for this establishment jumped up 4 times. Tech Boom Casualty.

I cannot walk by this shop without walking in… and I always make a purchase. Fun things!
They have the plastic horses… They have the little ceramic animals glued onto the cards (tons of them)… Magic tricks… Board games… Great selection of stickers…
Every toy that you can imagine & in all price ranges. I think that if you needed to buy someone a gift, in any age range, you will find something here.
This shop is a jewel amongst all SF businesses. Fun businesses like this are few & far between.

If I ever need to buy toys (which isn’t often at the moment) I will come here. I love supporting local businesses. Since this is a ‘mom&pop’ store, the prices are increased a little, but any business in San Francisco has a high price tag to stay open. Support local businesses and shop at Jeffrey’s.

The other reviews and Unilocal pictures have made such an emphasis on Comic Books, but there’s a lot of other interactive toys and collectibles here, and I’m most grateful for a stack of beautiful children infant books that I picked up, including «Where Do Kisses Come From?» and «The Real Mother Goose.» Also intros to «Beauty and the Beast» and «Jungle Book.» For the older 8 – 14 kids, Spiderman and Batman toys that you ogle at but fear the cost. I found my map of the world on laminate with some stickers, and bought it. Unfortunately, it took four hours of my day to drive to San Francisco and park in the Financial District to get this, and I found a better map of the world two days later at CVS. Still, I don’t regret the adventure of making it here. It’s probably the best toy store in San Francisco, but it still doesn’t replace the absence of the now gone FAO Shwarz of San Francisco. #godswitness

Being that I’m a kid at heart, this place gets all 5s. Great selection of toys, comic books, board games, toy guns, etc. If I can give them 6 starts I would, the extra star for their location. You don’t have too many options downtown especially near the financial district and whether your in a hurry to buy something or even if you do have the time this is a great spot to go birthday shopping or if your collecting toys as a hobby. They have it all! Service is also great here too, they were always there to point me to the right direction without asking, just seeing the confused expression on my face was enough. I bought a spider man piggy bank for my coworkers sons bday.

Jeffrey’s Toys is great! I worked there for over 5 years back in the 80’s when they were located on Sutter street until lease expired. It is a family owned business and toys are unique! Location on market is convenient and they even gift wrap for free!

Boooooooo for charging me .50 for a bag and not telling me you were charging me that much. I’m still trying to understand how an item at 19.98 comes to 22.23! *sigh*
On a brighter note I found something cute for my daughter although they ran out of glitter (fairy dust) I’m still satisfied. There is also I very nice older women that I had a very pleasant conversation (I know that’s not a word) with.

I didn’t have a chance to look through the toys because I made a beeline straight to the comic books.
Gloria is very friendly and helpful. She was able to help me look through all the stacks of comics, and I couldn’t find the specific comic that I was looking for.
That was fine, she provided me with the contact information for the «comic guy», John. I can’t wait to have more time to actually cruise through the store.

I’ve visited this store several times. Very limited back-​stock on comics. Not well stocked on new comics either. I asked a sales associate for assistance in finding a new comic that was released today and she went in the back for a few minutes and came out and just said; «We don’t have it» without explanation of why.
I give them two stars as their toy and game selection is pretty good, though fairly overpriced.
I wouldn’t recommend this store for your regular comic book shopping. It’s probably a good idea to call ahead to make sure they have what you’re looking for in stock (even if it’s new comic-​book-​Wednesday morning).

Lovely place, take it from a 30 year old kid :). Reasonably priced, and long lovely aisles full of toys, right from the cutie ones to the weird ones :)
Got small figurines for 50c each, and they are totally weird and adorn my office desk.

Yet again I realise that there is a place for which I should have written a review long ago and thought that I did. Anyway, this is a great little old toy store in downtown San Francisco that we have been going to for years. It’s an unusual holdover from the past, a traditional family-​run toy store and one in an area that used to be a major daily shopping part of town but which no longer is much of a regular shopping area and instead more of a business and tourist spot. The place is chock full of real toys, games and comics tightly packed into every corner of the place, with a great selection and variety plus good prices. They have old-​fashioned and new-​style toys, simple and complex ones. This is the kind of toy store I grew up going to but now rarely find. It’s a tradition for us to go here whenever downtown on Market Street.

As many of the young generation moves on to media and video games, many toy stores are struggling to survive T. T, luckily, Jeffreys is one of the last surviving genuine toy stores in the city.
Great mix of older classic kind of toys and more modern deviants. And OMG PLUSHIES! ^^, so many! I love going to the area of stuffed animals, plushies, and puppets toward the back, they have a HUGE selection and have basically any animal you can think of. Super super awesome!
The store also has a pretty good selection of comics in the back for those that are into that. Cool stuff ^ ^
The staff here is pretty friendly, quite a few times I have gone in and they will ask if I needed help finding anything. Definitely there to assist if needed.
The prices are a bit high ish Ill admit, which is a shame, but honestly, a toy store being a business that is having a rough time, PLUS being in the middle of one of the busiest spots in the city? It’s kind of expected.

This place is pretty damned nifty! I couldn’t pass it up on my way to get some Chinese food. My geekdar alarm went off and I swerved into its wide doors, only to be found in labyrinthean row upon row of various goods.
Specialty lego kits.
Various card games.
Word puzzles.
Jigsaw puzzles.
Toys and figurines galore.
Stuffed animals.
My favorite section in the store? The comic book section, of course! It’s not huge but they really do have a decent amount of graphic novels, including volumes of some of my favorites (the Walking Dead, Preacher), and at standard pricing. There are also action figures and figurines as well.
I just wish the aisles weren’t so claustrophobic and small. But otherwise, pretty snazzy.

I remember the old store and it had a hobby shop. No more and parking is a bear. Take muni. Market is a horrible street.
Once there it was a nice toy store, really meant for kids, not adults. It lost its luster from its former glory on Sutter I believe.
There are way better toys stores in the bay area but if price and selection is not an issue, check it out.

Due at a dinner tonight to celebrate the birthday of a four year old and haven’t yet bought a gift? If you work in SoMa or the FiDi, you’re in luck if you can make it to Jeffrey’s Toys. I came here armed with a couple of ideas (legos, puzzles) and found the place easy to navigate. Within a few minutes I was able to find two suitable gifts and after a couple more minutes I walked out of the store with both boxes wrapped in dragon themed wrapping paper.

If you have trouble remembering what you might have liked to play with at age four or six or nine, no problem. Many of the items here are marked with an age appropriateness level to help you along.
I was on a pretty focused mission so I didn’t see much beyond the puzzles, legos and science experiment sections (which were well stocked) but my sense is that Jeffrey’s Toys probably has most of the games, dolls, crafts and comics you could could want.

facebook stalker, Toy hunters, frustrated chumps socialites, or basically bad hygiene practicers, sad but true.

But that’s besides the point…
The point is A place like «Jeffrey’s toys» Brings out the inner geek in me.
The location is convenient for the downtown work dogs
and parents with strollers to take their bratty-​nose kids here.
If you walking around the area you can’t but help to want to stop in.

***This toy store seems to have a good selection of toys and games; while there was nothing here that I felt was incredibly unique, it is probably a good spot if you are looking for a gift***
I imagine parking is hard to find and expensive around here.

Toys, toys and more toys!
Came in here to grab something for a newborn baby to be and this place is not only convenient, but also quite entertaining.
While I was browsing around, they had creative toys as well as simple play things.
I got a couple of items and they offer complimentary gift wrapping as well as mini theme cards. Service indeed! I am bad on gift wrapping so I’m glad that they did it for me!
