Established in 1999.

Raquel started performing in 1999. In 2003, she took her band to work for Princess Cruise line for a year cruising along the Caribbean islands from Puerto Rico and the Mexican Riviera.

She performed at festivals like San Jose Jazz Festival and other summer outdoor festivals in San Francisco.

She wrote songs and recorded three albums. In 2010 she was hired to record a Basque song for Grammy winner, Kepa Junkera, who is a master of the Basque trikitixa accordion, for his trilogy album.

Raquel donates 10% of her proceeds to non-​profit organizations since 2011.

Raquel is an eight-​time award singer-​songwriter. In addition of performing for private events as a jazz and Latin music singer, she also has a Filipino world music band that features her talent as a singer-​songwriter and a dancer in her own style.

Raquel is also a graphic designer and website designer.

Her husband is also a professional musician and the musical director of Raq Filipina. Both are dedicated to their musical world.

After a long tedious research for a Jazz band for my husband’s surprise 50th last month, I selected Raquel and her band. And I am glad I did, she is so professional and an absolute pleasure to work with. She and I spoke on the phone few times before the event, she took all the information and on the day of the event reached right on time to set up and play. My husband is a big jazz fan and he was very impressed with Raquel’s talent. I had 80 people at the party, each and everyone came to me during the party and afterwards to tell me what a gem I had discovered. I totally recommend her and her band. What an amazing performance. Raq and band played for our corporate dinner cruise for a group out of Greece and even during dinner they were receiving applause after each song. We hired Raq and her band to play for our company Holiday Party. She (and the guys) were awesome! They played different styles of music for each part of the party (cocktails, during the meal, etc). We had great music but could still talk during the dinner. She had my co-​workers up and dancing after dinner. Everyone really enjoyed her and the band. I would highly recommend Raq for an event.

Raq and her band were amazing for our Wedding, and we wish we could give them 10 stars!
At our wedding, Raq and her band played for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, including the dancing. Bossa Nova, Latin, Motown, and some contemporary stuff was thrown in – It was amazing!
People came up to me after and during the reception and told me that I had set a new bar hiring this band. Mission accomplished!
Raq worked great coordinating with our wedding planner, and when were in a pinch for some mic equipment for the ceremony, she generously offered her equipment.

Raquel and her band were excellent! Raquel is an amazing singer. Raquel worked with me on the choice of music to be sung and met my needs with the selection of Spanish and English song choices. Wedding September 6th 2014 at Rosewood Sandhill
Robert and I hired Raquel and her Band for our Wedding Reception in September… and we couldn’t have picked a more perfect artist. Raquel was amazing and exceeded our expectations. For our party, we chose Bossa Nova and Latin Jazz… which she nailed. Raquel is a true professional with a pitch perfect sensual voice and a warm elegant style. Her Band is equally talented with amazing instrumentals and guitar and together they made perfect music for a perfect evening. We received endless praise about Raquel from guests and staff alike. My husband and I hired Raquel and her band to play for a dinner party after our wedding reception in October. My husband was raised in Brazil and I knew that it would be a special treat to have bossa nova (and other latin jazz) for him and his family incorporated into the evening. One of our guests was personal friends with Jobim so we wanted someone that our guests would really appreicate. We hadn’t seen Raquel perform live and so were simply going off of her referrals and a few video clips we found online.
I must say that I am so grateful that we hired Raquel. She and her band raised the calibre of our celebration and most of our guests thanked us afterward for the «gift» of her music for the evening. Our friend that had known Jobim (composer of «the girl from impanema») told Raquel that he loved her music and that Jobim himself would have appreciated her performance of his music.
We were not sure if our guests would dance much that night but Raquel’s music lifts you out of your seat and you just can’t help yourself! She played exactly the music that we requested, was a complete professional and delight to work with. We highly recommend Raquel and suspect she raises the calibre at every event she performs.

We hired Raquel for an alumni reception at the Disney Museum, and our guests are still raving about the band. The music was perfect for the atmosphere, we even had people dancing, which we never get. It was lively enough to keep the crowd entertained, but not so overwhelming that people were still able to carry on conversations.
Raquel was great to work with, professional, and just really a nice person.

So glad we choose Turnaround Band with Raquel Berlind as the lead singer for our wedding reception.
We wanted to go with a classy feel, decided to go with a live band. It made a huge difference and Turnaround and Raquel really showed up for us. They were very professional and a tight group that clearly love what they do.
They provided music during the cocktail reception and during the dinner.
Raquel worked with us, they learned the first dance we requested and even introduced an amazing dance teacher to give us a few lessons. The first dance was so much fun and everyone was surprised (even me!).
Raquel has great energy and a great voice.

Raquel and her band played at our wedding reception held at the Grand Island Mansion. They were outstanding! I heard her play in a friends wedding and I arranged for her to play in my wedding as well. The music was amazing and Raquel is so sweet and thoughtful. We hired Raquel and her latin band, Bolero y Mas, to play at our wedding in Monterey. They played soft jazzy tunes and bossa nova for the dinner portion and upbeat latin tunes full of energy and rhythm for the dancing portion. The dance floor was packed until late hours of the night! We don’t have enough words to describe how amazing it was. We heard so many wonderful things on how much fun our guests had that night and we are still hearing our guests compliment the band and Raquel’s magical voice. Her husband, who is also in the band, even did a fantastic job with our announcements.
One thing that really made the night special for us was that the band learned a song for us to play for our choreographed first dance. We intentionally chose to have it be the first song of the night, before dinner. Our unique dance surprised our guests and the band’s incredible sound completely blew our guests away!!! It was fantastic and we are so happy to have had them perform at our wedding. Having our wedding in a beautiful hotel next to the ocean with the wonderful music of the band, it really made our night spectacular. and a night to remember!

Raquel and her husband throw together the most perfect ensembles for your event. Being a music major through college as well as a drummer currently, when I first heard them at a wedding I was photographing, upon completing their first phrase, I was just mesmerized. Raquel’s soulful and smooth voice, her husbands amazing musicianship as well as their wide range of genres, makes them one of my highest respected groups out there. I photograph over 75 events per year and hear a lot of entertainment. Raquel and her husband are definitely at the top of my list!

This band is amazing. Not only was Raquel a great singer and the band amazing musicians, but they also were a pleasure to work with. They even learned a song for me for our first dance at the wedding. I could not have asked for a better band or group to work with during this very special event. Raquel & Bolero y Mas– I heard the CD and decided then and there she was going to be my wedding singer! Asi de facil, yes, the band is THAT good!
A little background: Raquel con Bolero y Mas performed at BAHIA’s 35th Anniversary and Silent Auction Fundraiser back in June. I was unable to attend but kept hearing great things about their sound. My sisters attended the even and suggested I seriously consider her to sing at my wedding. I looked at her very busy calendar and went to see her and the band perform at Cocina Poblana in Jack London Square.
They were having a birthday party for Raquel and she was singing so beautifully. My fiancé and I had told her we were there to see her and she was so cute, and dedicated a song to us, I still remember… «besame, besame mucho… como si fuera la ultima vez»… Great Great voice!!! Juan and I made our final decision that night.
Top things I knew I wanted from a band:
1. A woman «singer»
2. that SHE be soulful, romantic, charismatic, diverse musically
3. Instruments had to be on point (no squeaky stuff)
Raquel was that and so much more! She not only had the crowd going, she exceeded my husband’s and my expectations to the fullest. I love Raquel’s style. Shes such a unique woman, her dress, speech, and aura purely glow.
The last thing I needed was stress at my wedding, Raquel and the band totally DELIVERED, w/​a Capital D!
Theres so much to say about her and the band. The guys are totally fun, energetic and majorly talented!
Overall dealing with Raquel from day 1 and signing a contract was easy as 123. No hassle, no worries and an extremely happy happy ending!

Raquel con Bolero y Mas recently performed at our Excelsior’s small fair in May 2010. She draws her audience in with her charisma and energy and sultry dance moves. She performed latin jazz and bossa nova music. Raquel voice is quite sensual and it’s a pleasure to have a talented artist like her in the bay area. She has a wonderful band of skilled musicians that deliver the complete package of excellence. We look forward to each show because she brings a creative flair to her show.

I first saw Raquel and the group perform at the Embarcadero in San Francisco in September which I believe was a part of the People in Plazas concert series. I usually watch the weekly performances but I was definitely enthused by this band in particular because I couldn’t believe the energy in the crowd when they were performing! EVERYONE was dancing! They were wonderful and I was even able to grab their CD which even my 3 year old is addicted to track #1 «Mi Vida Con Tigo»…can’t wait to hear some more and watch them live again!!!
