I’ve had 2 cleanings here now and really enjoyed my experience. I’ve seen the dentist many many times since I acquired weak teeth from my mom so I take effort in making sure they’re taken care of. Since my insurance pays for bi-​annual cleaning, I might as well take advantage of it.
The office is located smack in the center of Union Square, in the northwest corned of the Macy’s building. Just tell the receptionist out front that you’re going to see Dr Jang and you don’t need to sign in.
The office is nice and clean and quiet. All the equipment is pretty new and clean as expected. Dr Jang creates a nice, peaceful environment as you lay in your chair getting your teeth worked on. Fortunately I haven’t had to come with major problems yet, just teeth cleaning so I can’t really speak on any other procedures that Dr Jang does but I will say that she does a thorough job cleaning teeth. Yes, she doesn’t pawn off the work to a dental hygienist… she takes the time to evaluate your teeth and clean each pearly white!
Dr Jang was also the first dentist to ever have the courage to tell me the truth about my teeth instead of just passing the buck and I appreciate her honesty. She took the time to explain things in detail and did a good job reassuring and educating.
A nice touch was the followup letter I received after my first visit with a floss-​to-​go card that fits in a wallet. I’ve never seen anything like that and I thought that was a cool thing to receive in the mail.
Overall, I highly recommend Dr Jang and her team. She’ll listen, take the time and treat you right!

I needed a dentist urgently after my filling came out. My coworker recommended me Dr Gail. I want to thank Dr Gail and her staff for their awesome work! They are very friendly and nice people. Clean and comfortable place. I will come back for a thorough examination. Well deserved 5 stars from me.

As an employee of a dental lab we see a dentist from a behind the scenes perspective.(Hint;besides asking your friends for recommendations consider calling your local dental lab for theirs).
Dr Gail’s impressions sent (for 28 years) to our dental lab were taken as taught in school (full upper and lower using a metal tray).Many dentists learn quicker and cheaper ways to take an impression (that impression material is expensive and takes more chair-​time).
Her prescriptions were written very carefully and included alerts for her concerns.
If we sent a crown to her that she didn’t find 100% satisfactory she would return it until we got it right.
If I were looking for a dentist, Dr Gail would be at the top of my list!

Gail Jang is THE DENTIST OF THE PEOPLE. she keeps all our teeth SHARP so that we live to fight and BITE another day.
she really is old school. in 18 years in san francisco, trying a few dentists a later avoided, she really does stick around. she cares. she’s a perfectionist. i’m so broke right now, a friend suggested i go to a dental school.

with all that gail jang did, i realized it’s an art. i was mortified to imagine putting my head in the hands of a rookie. eek. these teeth things don’t grow back, y’all.

Dr Gail is a great dentist. She genuinely wants to make you feel welcome and important, and she does all the work meticulously herself, including sharpening her instruments! I’ve been coming to her for years. Sure, Remy the reciptionist is a little scattered, but it doesn’t bother me a bit. (hint, when she calls to remind you about your appointment, just shout out the time and she will be impressed).

Gail Jang is a great old school dentist. The best, actually. She takes care of ALL your dental needs. No pirate minimum by California law like almost all dentists these days.
Her office uses the technique, described by one frustrated gal who wanted to get the best, to dissuade obvious non-​candidates who THINK they deserve the best, but don’t, because they are whiners.
Dr. Jang knows all your teeth. She cleans them, checks your gums, does all the dental work herself, and fixes teeth with crowns, fillings, etc. on a par with the very best dentists. She’s a perfectionist, a caring woman, smart, and an extremely good dentist.

Dr. Jang is the terrific kinda dentist that cleans your choppers herself and gives a dang about your teeth. I was so used to my NY dentist who had his dental assistant to the work, then breezed in to poke my gums and tell me to floss more. Dr. Jang won’t treat you like an imbecile if you haven’t been flossing enough, but she’ll lay on the right amount of guilt to make you want to floss more to make her happy. Remy is at the front desk and will make you feel welcome, even if you don’t have dental insurance.
