Amazing! Def recommend– liked my hair style. Will come back for sure! Took 3 hrs but didn’t feel like it, store is cute, cash only but she will take Venmo.

After thinking about it and talking about it for months, I finally booked an appointment for blue ombré. Omg, I couldn’t be happier! Jade was running a bit late with the last appointment when I went, but I didn’t mind this time since I wasn’t in any particular rush. I had a few ideas in mind, and she was great at helping me choose what would work well for my face shape, hair length, etc. I love the blend and keeping the roots the original colour will help the grow-​out look better since it’s already the colour it needs to be. The process was long-​ish which was to be expected with hair colouring, but like I said, I couldn’t be happier. I definitely want to book my next hair appointment with her when the time comes.
The shop was a cute little salon on Larkin St, amongst a bunch of apartment buildings in Nob Hill. It was easy to find since it was one of the few businesses on the street. The décor is really nice and modern with mirrors everywhere so you can admire your new ‘do before you leave ;) There were a fair number of people going in and out while I was there, and I got the impression that they’re regulars which speaks well of a business. Can’t wait to go back!

Love Jade! She does a great job and is awesome and funny. Flexible with her schedule too. She also wants you to love your look, and when mine wasn’t blonde enough she let me come back in for a touch up on her ASAP. ¹⁰⁄₁₀!

You can definately trust Jade with your hair, she knows everything needed to treat your hair right. I have my hair done twice with Jade, first time she fixed my ugly orange red tone hair to a beautiful Ombré with no harsh line. Today, she spent 4 hours transforming my hair to a purple/​pink Ombrè as you can see from the pictures. You will not regret getting your hair done with Jade, and you will leave the salon with a smile:)
PS: She is also very flexible with time which is always a plus with hair appointments.

This has got to be one of the most frustrating experiences I have ever delt with. Jade only takes/​talks/​responds to email appointments and the first time I emailed her she gave me an open date of 9÷9÷15. I emailed her within 24 hours saying I’d take it and another one day later after no response to confirm. She emailed back saying that she was busy and would actually be able to do my hair on ⁹⁄₁₀ instead. I confirmed and said I would take it. She confirmed this time.
On the day of, I take off work a early to show up to my appointment on time and wait. After 30 minutes, Jade does not show up. Her co-​workers call and text her only to receive no response and her co-​workers tell me to check my email.
She emails me at noon asking to confirm and again at 3pm telling me that a previous client didn’t show up the day before so if I didn’t respond, she would not show. Being someone who works and runs around the city all day, I am unable to check my personal email at leisure. Especially since my office doesn’t allow us to be on personal sites during office hours.
I just wish Jade would have given me 24 hours notice instead of emailing me at 3pm saying she wasn’t going to show. :(
I left my number at the salon asking her to call or text if she does respond which she then EMAILED me saying sorry I wasn’t able to confirm my appointment for her to come in 5 hours before the appointment later that evening.
She then emailed saying she could come in at 8pm. I asked her to call me and gave her my number. No response.
Truly unprofessional. Spent $ 20 on useless cab fare, going on a trip with grown out hair tomorrow, and regretting canceling plans on friends to get my hair done.
I won’t be back because she probably won’t show. And truly saddened because she did my friend Helens hair beautifully. Oh well. :(

Go see jade! She works magic with hair. I normal have Frizzy and dry hair but she makes it so silky smooth. She’s very knowledgeable of hair color blends and how to keep your hair healthy!

I’ve been getting my hair done with Jade for more than a year now. She both cuts and colors my hair. She really is the best colorist for dark hair! I’m Indian and my dark hair can be tricky. If colored incorrectly, it can become brassy red. I’ve gone Ombré twice with Jade, and the results were amazing! She achieved this beautiful golden brown color that no other colorist has been able to create for me.
Recently, I went back to my original dark brown color and also got a Brazilian Hair Straightening treatment. The results are gorgeous! My hair is so shiny and soft. I don’t know what took my so long to get the treatment. I recommend her to all my friends with dark hair, and they’ve all been thrilled with their new look. Also, as a side note, she is super fun to chat with while getting my hair done. I’m going back to Jade in July and can’t wait to see what she does with my hair. :)

I had been looking for someone to do my hair in San Francisco for quite awhile and finally landed on Jade! I came in for an ombré and we had a blast chatting while she did my hair. As a careful stylist with a first time client probably should, she didn’t take my black hair as light as I would have liked the first time around. No problem! We scheduled a second appointment at no additional cost to me and she got it exactly right the second time. She even fixed up a couple of my layers by trimming them at no additional cost. I will definitely be back :)

I LOVE MY HAIR EVERY TIME I LEAVE THIS PLACE!!! I dread getting my hair color because it’s such a long process and that causes me to delay my appointments, but it was definitely time for another visit. It was long overdue, but I came back recently for my 2^nd session and I’m in love with what Jade has done to my hair again. Will definitely try to come back more often because Jade makes it easy and comfortable to discuss the next possible hair adventure (although I might end up sticking to the ashy blonde look because she does it so well)!

I am on this «re-​branding» mission and just came back from Jade today for an ombré and haircut. I was super nervous since I had long, blackish-​brown, and boring thin hair. It’s been awhile since I did anything «fun». She is extremely professional and confident in her abilities. And she should be! I am so happy I went with her. I love love love my hair. She asks for pictures on pinterest and asks a lot of questions along the way to make sure she understands your vision. I would say to trust her more than you trust yourself… haha. She knows what she’s doing. There was a few times I wanted more pop but 100% glad she went not too crazy this 1^st time.
I plan to be back soon.

I’ve been wanting a change in my hair color for quite some time now and was over experimenting with box dyes (lol — I don’t think I’ll ever be going back now). Thankfully, I found Jade through Unilocal and was easily able to make an appointment with her through text. I sent her some pictures to get an estimate of what I wanted and what my hair currently looked like and she was able to get back to me right away.
My hair was previously dyed red, but Jade was able to lift the color and gave me the color for the ombré I wanted. She was super informative with what she was planning to do with my hair and I am very satisfied with how it turned out. 3 hours went by so fast since she was so easy to talk and connect to. Though I had a time constraint because I had work immediately after, she got me out on time and with some beautiful curls too!

I’ve always had anxiety when going to a stylist because I usually go in with the anticipation and hope of what I want my hair to look like when I leave and often have been disappointed with the results. That however all changed after Jade.
My last haircut prior to her had been months and I was coloring my hair from a box because as stated earlier I never got the results that I wanted was tired of wasting money on something I wasn’t happy with. I had just had a baby and was feeling pretty poopy and blah.
Jade took the time to ask me questions, made me feel so comfortable, and alleviated all my worries and anxiety. She made gave me soft layers and gave me an ombré color… Which I was kinda worried about but turned out amazing!!! She made this tired momma feel alive and gave me back the pep that had gone missing after popping out the kid.
I got compliments while walking to my car and husband loved it. I’ve totally found my new stylist and there’s no longer any anxiety about getting my hair cut. I can’t wait to see her again and she what magical wonders she’ll do next for my hair.

I HAVE FINALLY FOUND a hair stylist who LISTENS and actually does EXACTLY what you want! My hair looks like one of the hairstyles I would pin on Pinterest, yeah THAT GOOD.
Jade is beyond amazing. We had conversations as if we knew each other for years, she makes you feel welcomed and comfortable from the moment you walk in. I told her how I had the worst experience when I got my first ombré (about 2 years ago) and how I was worried about my hair getting too damaged like before and that I really liked the V-​shape look. She showed/​told me every thing she was doing (and before she did it) so that I wouldn’t worry and the outcome is beyond what I expected.
I abdolutely love my hair and I’ve been receiving compliments left and right! Thank you so so much Jade!

It’s been about 2 – 3 weeks since I went to Jade for my ombré. I have had dark, long hair as long as I can remember, so I was a little scared to go for the big change. However, i am so glad I did!
Jade did an amazing job with my hair. She was very patient and made sure my hair was turning out exactly how I wanted it. The blending was perfect and there were no harsh lines at all, which was my main concern regarding ombré. When she removed the foils from my hair the first time, it turned out that my hair had not lightened as fast as we expected, and I wanted the tips to be very blonde instead of light brown, so she actually re-​did all of ends of my hair and let it sit for another 20m just to make sure I had the color I wanted, no extra charge :) in the mean time, she went to the café next door and even brought me the most delicious little sandwich that I inhaled in like 20 seconds.
The whole experience was wonderful. She is very easy to talk to and the time will fly by. Hard to say when you are sitting in a salon for 3 – 4 hours! But Jade makes everything painless and breezy. She also gave me a great hair cut; not too over the top but making the layers a little shorter and taking some weight off the top. Exactly what I wanted. Overall I am still very pleased with the whole thing. I received a tonn of compliments from all my friends immediately, especially from my boyfriend. He had forgotten I was dying my hair and went absolutely crazy when he saw how amazing I looked. I am enjoying every bit of the new me.
I will definitely be going back for my future touch ups and any other adventurous ideas I may have. She has great hair herself so you know she’s doing something right. This review is long overdue as I got my hair done by Jade in April, but I had to write this because of how great Jade is & because I’m still in love with my hair 4 months later.
Before finding Jade, I had previously gotten my hair ombré dyed and I was really disappointed with how unnoticeable & subtle it turned out. So this time around (~1 year later) I decided I had to do my homework and find the best ombré stylist in the city — enter Jade.
Prior to the appointment, we emailed back and forth about what color & style I was looking for which made things really easy. When I arrived Jade told me what style would look best with my hair & the color I wanted. She convinced me to go a little lighter than I originally wanted to, but I was SO HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS. I cannot say more about Jade, she was extremely friendly and professional. I was amazed at how quick & painless she made my appointment.
I will definitely be going back to her again. If she moved out of the city/​bay area I would be devastated!

FINALLY I FOUND THE BEST HAIR STYLIST!
After jumping from salon to salon for the last few years in SF and Berkeley, I finally found someone who is on the same page and has an eye for what looks good! Jade is super sweet and from the moment I walked in she made me feel welcome.
A little history: I had never dyed my hair before and one day I decided to go to a salon on Grant St. to get some color. I ended up walking out with highlights that I didn’t really want and was a bit disappointed. After doing much searching on Unilocal,I found Jade (lucky me!). She was easy to schedule an appointment with (through email) and available after 5 (which is great if you are working in the city).
We emailed back and forth and I decided to go with Ombré and a Brazillian Blowout (to reduce my frizz). The actual appointment was a great experience, Jade is very knowledgeable and amazing at what she does. She was also very easy to talk to and time flew by. Her prices are also very reasonable
Very pleased with how my hair turned out. She even drove me back to BART because it was late by the time we finished (talk about going above and beyond).
Totally recommend and would definitely go back!

Does your stylist offer to give you a lift home because it’s gotten too dark to take the bus? Does the guest next to you buy you dinner because you’re both at the salon well past dinnertime? Preposterous right? But all these unexpectedly wonderful touches made for the most out-​of-​this-​world salon experience.
Going above and beyond is an understatement when it comes to the fierce Ms. Jade Mendoza. A month in advance, we started exchanging emails chatting about the depth and color of ombré I wanted. She was super responsive and shared several photos of medium length styles for inspiration. Most salons operate within daytime business hours but she said she would be happy to take me in at 5:30 once I was done with work.
When I arrived at the cute Nob Hill salon, I was supplied with bottomless green tea and Jade thoughtfully explained what she thought my hair could a.) handle and b.) would look the most natural (well, as natural as you can get when it comes to ombré). Deftly wrapping up my thick, heavy hair is no small feat and the entire process took five hours but it flew by in the blink of an eye. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the four of us (two guests, two stylists) kept up a lively conversation the entire time. We bonded over everything from sushi to celebrities to must-​follow Instagram handles for cute animal pics.
The end result was a gorgeous ashy blonde that blended up into warmer colors and then into my roots. Jade carefully framed my face and styled my hair straight so I could see the ombré to the fullest. She wisely said that if someone immediately curls your hair after an ombré job, they most likely messed it up and are hiding their harsh lines. Tsk tsk.
All in all, I couldn’t be more pleased and will be back in a heartbeat to touch it up or hey, go down another hair route all together. Because hair isn’t something to cry over ladies. Be wild, be adventurous. :)
