A new popup in SOMA is gonna get flooded with Unilocalers. So many that the first week they opened we ate them right out of their supply of pastrami. For shame turning hungry customers away without sandwiches. For shame! I came back the next week and found the saneiches had really Fantastic pastrami! Not cheap but really good! I wish the sandwich was grilled and had some melted Swiss. That’d be primo! Friends had the pulled pork sandwich and claimed it was better. I’ll check it out when I’m up for pork.

Jablow’s got a new pop-up location inside Dada Bar on 2nd! Word is that this spot will be the regular Tuesday/Thursday lunch location. Came here with a *bunch*(like 40 or 50) of co-workers after one of them suggested it. They were serving pastrami sandwiches and pulled pork sandwiches; the recommendation from Ben C. was the pastrami(«much better than Wise Sons»), so we all started ordering that. We exhausted the pastrami supply halfway through the line! Everyone else wound up getting the pulled pork. I had the pastrami sandwich. Excellent! The bread was ever so slightly soggy by the time we got back to the office and sat down to eat but I won’t hold that against them. The meat itself was fantastic — smoky, salty, spicy. Everything I want in pastrami. The coleslaw on top was tangy and crunchy and the mustard was nice and spicy(I think I’ll ask for a little more of that next time). Those who got the pulled pork said it was excellent; one adventurous soul got both and said the pulled pork was actually a better sandwich than the pastrami. Guess I’ll go back on Tuesday to find out for myself. A great addition to the SOMA/FiDi lunch scene. Rock on, Jablow’s!
