Whoa, I never wrote a review for HUF. I loved this place – the guys & the products they offered. They really brought skatewear/​streetwear to SF more-​so. The guys who worked here are really friendly, helpful, & great to talk to about anything. I would come stop by this location throughout their 9 years the most, since I live in the neighborhood. I will miss their parties. Hayes Street annual holiday block parties will never be the same. RIP HUFSF. :[

I went to this store last week for a party they were hosting with free beer and free tacos! There were ample cans of PBR (some cooled in trash cans and others warm from the box) and even a taco truck parked in front. The taco truck only took tickets. You had to ask for a ticket from someone that worked there. It was a little awkward because it was hard to tell who worked there. Everyone was just hanging out.
This tiny shop had some rad decks and sneaks. I found the Mexico 66 kicks from Onitsuka Tiger I have been searching for for only $ 44! Half off! But of course they didn’t have them in my size unfortunately. Total bummer. My search continues…
The employees were helpful and told me to check the blog because they always post their new shipments online.
Rad shoes, but cliquey atmosphere.
Definite bonus stars for hosting a party with free beer + tacos, on a Saturday night no less.

Went here this morning to pick up some shoes before a hair appointment at OxenRose.
Good customer service (unlike the spacers at the stussy store) and great deal on the sale shoes… got a sweet pair as a gift for 40% off.
Definitely will be doing some Christmas shopping here… hopefully they have some good sales before then!

Oh HUF, my bank account blames you for its recent missing funds. I was checking the latest shoe releases on the HUF website, and I saw a pair of Vans that I just HAD to have. Came in the store and successfully got the last 8.5’s. It’s a nice, chill spot that doesn’t have a lot of traffic like Foot Locker does. It’s kinda pricey, but sometimes they have shoes on sale, and you can buy these in-​store, unlike those infamous warehouse sales they hold occasionally.
Also, one of the cashier’s name is DON PAPA. Seriously. It’s on the receipt.

Careful buying gifts at this store. The recipient will not be able to exchange for something else.
Last week, my wife bought me a pair of Adidas for my birthday. Although I’m a fan of Adidas, this style wasn’t me. I went into the store today to see if I could exchange for another pair. I was informed the shoes were on sale, and could not be returned.
When I mentioned the shoes I want to exchange were also on sale, it didn’t matter. They were also Adidas. Didn’t matter. They are the same price. Didn’t matter.
There is a reason why stores that focus on customer service succeed, and stores that do not fail. It is sad that a great store, with an excellent selection, is going to enforce short-​sighted «rules». I will never shop here again, and will make sure to voice my dissent to anybody that cares to ask… or doesn’t.

Pretty much the only decent streetwear store in SF ^^
I was spoiled by LA/​NY shopping. But Huf is somewhat comparable to Undefeated… they have a decent selection of brands but I’ve also noticed many disappear over the last 2 ½ years. I remember when they had a huge warehouse clearance sale and I scooped 2 Ice Cream hoodies for $ 280 (total). I don’t know what happened, but I can still find Visvim stuff here so that keeps me happy *heart*
Try to hit up Huf when they’re having New Era sales. I think they did 2/​$ 50 at one point? I always buy these as gifts for friends before I go anywhere else in the country… that H is just hot, and more fun to sport than a standard Giants hat.

I just purchased a pair of hi-​tops here that my friend identified as «B-​Girl Shoes». I have therefore dubbed them my «Poser Shoes», and on their maiden voyage I have chosen to hide them under wide-​leg, almost-​to-​the-​ground jeans. I’m digging the little hint of black and neon pink awesomeness peeking out, and maybe one day my secret breakdancing superhero self will make an appearance and reveal them in their full glory.
My segue into the Poser Shoes was a pretty killer pair of neon purple, orange and green Nike Dunks that blended more easily into my wardrobe. I got compliments on them on a regular basis, and pretty much wore them into the ground. These were replaced by a less striking but still fab pair of red, hot pink and cream Nike Airs.
I have a weakness for good shoes, and HUF never disappoints. I intentionally visit no more than once a year, because I always find something I can’t leave without.

One of the boutiques I always go to when heading to SF. Best selection of Nikes, Vans, and major names. The simplicity of the store is what i like most. This shoe store only has 2 walls of shoes… yes. that’s it! But the selection is great! The service there is always chill and laid back. Although they some times overprice their kicks, most of the time they set it at retail.
But above all, how many stores do you know have Nike Tier 0 accounts? Yes, this is the highest ranked Nike account! So if you want the best and most limited Nike kicks, this is the place to be at!

These feets need the style, for sure. I hoof it to HUF when I need (yeah, Want really) a new pair of sneaker type shoes. Why are they called sneakers?
Here is what wikiipedia says: Sneakers are footwear of flexible material, typically featuring a sole made of rubber. Sneakers were originally sporting apparel, but are today worn much more widely as casual footwear. They are now very popular, especially with young people. Sneakers or canvas shoes are casual athletic shoes.
The British English equivalent of «sneaker» is «trainer» in its modern meaning; however, the traditional «sneaker» (pictured) is closer to the British «plimsoll». In some urban areas in the United States, the slang for sneakers are kicks. In Hiberno-​English the term is runners. In South African English the term used is takkies.
I come to HUF to browse the sale rack. Last years sneakers/​trainers/​plimsoli/​takkies are out of fashion, but I can ride with last year’s trend. I like the prices and will not go to a Shoe Pavilion.

Although I rarely buy because I’m so picky about my sneakers, I always check Huf and they always have fresh kicks.
Their selection is a bit limited, but it’s also exclusive. If you’re a sneakerhead, SF is slightly lacking compared to some places in LA and Brooklyn/​NYC. We get stuff, but the real gems are hard to come by– but when they come by, they’re usually at Huf.
They might not always have what I want, but I don’t ever walk by without stopping in.

I’ve been to this Huf store a lot less than the Sutter location only because it is hard to find parking here on a daily basis.
Besides parking, this hayes location is better than the sutter location with shoe selection. for clothing, the sutter location is better.
at hayes, the customer service has been better than the sutter location since the last 5 years i’ve been getting stuff at Huf. This location always has a filled up on sale rack and got the good deals. I’d rather come here from now on than the sutter location, great place to go to for urban footwear and clothing.

Oh how I heart thee. I went looking for a simple everyday sneaker and left with so much more. You outfitted me with sweet black Nike hi-​tops, re-​laced them to up the ante, and gave me a few ideas on how to rock the new shoe. Oh darling, you are the cherry on my sundae.

Over 10 years ago, my first skateboard ever said Hufnagel on the bottom of it. I loved that thing, and I love this shoe store named after the same man.
They always have the coolest kicks.

My brother has dragged me into this store more times than I can count.
He loves sneakers and this is one of his favorite places — and he lives in Phoenix. I think the only reason he visits me is so we can spend the weekend shoe shopping.
The section for women if pretty much nothing but I did find a pair I wanted…
They guys who work there barely even acknowledged me but they were nice since my brother bought 3 pairs of shoes himself. Plus he is a shoe freak and only seems to buy hard to find sneaks. He had been drooling over a few pairs on the website and he had to try them on and buy them.
Not the most helpful staff in the words but they have a great mens selection of kicks that you cannot buy anywhere else.

This is more of the skate shop version of Huf with shoes and t-​shirts mostly and some decks and hats. I went here once back in the day and copped an Adidas Mr. Wong t-​shirt just cause I thought the controversy behind the t-​shirt was funny that I was learning about it in one of my Asian American Cultures classes. I’d only go here if I knew there was something here that I wanted, otherwise I’d just go to the Huf on Sutter or just hit up Haight Street. They carry more skate shoes here vs. the other Huf on Sutter and carry mostly Nike and Adidas.
I think Keith Hufnagel geared Huf a little more towards the fashion end of things, whereas Bob Schmelzer geared Circle A in San Jose a little more towards the skater, but both get it done when it comes to your fashion needs. And these are 2 of my favorite Skate Shops in the bay area.

I’m not sure why everyone says they have horrible customer service. When I walked in, the two workers were more than happy to talk about all the kicks and help me find my size. Walking in, you can just see the two walls lined with kicks, like so
. They were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. They even have a 40% off sale section. Sweeet!
If you’re looking for anything other than kicks, you’re in the wrong store. Head over to the HUF store on Sutter.

Yes, kicks, shoes, those things you put on your feet that complete your outfit. You know the ones and for those of us with a draw to cool foot accouterments, the good ones can definitely be found here. Especially if you are a penis card carrier.
The selection for chicks was a little slim, but if I were a dude, yay, I would be loving this place. And so SF dudes and visitors alike, if ya want some dope shoes, come hither and be fitted with fabulous foot ware.

***FYI for he ppl that has given low ratings for bad selection and customer svc, I have some news for you! HUF is a collector’s store. It’s not supposed to have a wide selection. Stores like these only cater to the enthusiasts… like an art gallery. It’s supposed to have expensive shit you can’t get any place else in the area. That’s the point. That’s the sell. That’s the rub.***
But I have to make a correction to Alan M’s review. «You would go to this store because they ALWAYS CARRY SNEAKERS THAT ARE [NOT] FOUND IN FOOTLOCKER AND NIKETOWN.» I don’t think you understand the true nature of stores like these or the culture! But I do understand about customer svc, tho. The thing is about these kind of stores is that the staff can easily spot «window-​shoppers». If you are one, then you will be ignored. Plus, the merchandise is geared for the «enthusiasts.» The staff doesn’t need to meet and greet to non-​enthusiasts. As I said, it’s an art gallery. If you are not an enthusiast and think these shoes are overpriced, then HUF is not for you… Foot Locker is a better option for the weak.
in my opinion, HUF SF, a great store to be at. They have collaborations with brands like Nike and Adidas. Also, HUF is also known for their New Era Fitted caps that are sweeping the nation. When such collaborations come out, ppl line up for days just to get a specific shoe or cap. Crazy! They also carry brands, such as Billionaire Boys Club and The Hundreds, that aren’t really available in regular stores.
To me the customer svc does need to improve a little hence the 1-​star deduction, but over all it is a great store if you are into custom kicks/​fitteds/​hoodies. Even if they are a little pricey, it is worth a buy because you will NEVER EVER get these items at any other boutique or get FAKE VARIANTS on eBay!

OOhhhh… I just bought the flyest f’in kicks here yesterday.
Get this… pinstripe, custom made HUF adidas! All those bitches are gonna be wanting to lick the soles of my feet now. HUF partnered with Adidas to create these urban inspired kicks that come with 3 different shoelace options — including pinstripe!
I can’t wait to show these off this week. I know it’s a sin to covet but, i guarantee someone’s gonna be drueling over these phat sneakers this week. Take a picture bitches, take a picture…
