With over 15 year’s experience, Hilary has worked with hundreds of clients in a variety of corporate, educational and non-​profit environments (Google, IBM, Wells-​Fargo, GAP, UCBerkley, SFState, Pixar, KQED). A former employee of Procter & Gamble, a college administrator and counselor, a high school founder and start up entrepreneur, her clients range in background, interest and age.

Her approach is collaborative. She helps clients gain a clear understanding about their goals, interests and skills in order to develop successful strategic plans. Hilary coaches people on work issues and assists them in developing increased capacity to navigate office politics and interpersonal dynamics.

Professionally trained with two masters degrees in Career Counseling and Development and Educational Administrational and Training, Hilary is a certified administrator of the Myers Briggs Type Indicator. Hilary is fantastic! She has been helping me for the past couple of months through my career transition. She’s extremely knowledgable, encouraging, and flexible. When I first came in I had a vague idea where I wanted to go, but I really had no idea how to approach getting there. She helped me to solidify what it was that I wanted to do and then plot out how to go about meeting my goals. She has been guiding me every step of the way — from resume and LinkedIn assistance to interview tips, networking, and professionalism on-​the-​job. There isn’t anything that is career-​related that she couldn’t help you tackle.

Looking for a job with the help of a career coach is a great investment, finding a good coach is not easy. After interviewing with several coaches I found Hilary Romanoff.
While many other coaches work on «3 session packages» (how can you possibly know that finding a job will take 3 sessions?!) Hilary was completely transparent and honest that there are many element affecting the process of finding the Right Job. In my case I wasn’t just looking for a job, I was moving from one profession in to another.
Fear, questioning, confusion, stress were always part of my journey to get a job, Hilary firmly but compasionate approach helped me to move forward. I can’t recommend enough her human and effective approach in the tortuous job hunting process.

One of my most trusted friends recommended Hilary to me when I expressed the need for some career guidance. It would be an understatement to say that she exceeded my expectations!
Hilary is a combination of career counselor, therapist, and good friend. She helped me assess my personality type and understand where I naturally excel and why I struggle in other areas. I have finally been able to forgive myself for not being good at things that other people find easy and just concentrate on how I can succeed using my own areas of talent.
Most importantly, Hilary helped me understand what I needed to find long-​term happiness in my professional life. I used the exercises that we had done together to make an educated decision before accepting a new position and was able to move forward with confidence.
I love my new job! I am by no means the stereotypical «professional» or corporate employee. Hilary helped me find (and recognize) my niche in the professional world. Well worth the investment.

I consulted with Hilary during a recent period of unemployment. I was recovering from an unpleasant experience with a former employer, and Hilary’s guidance helped me recenter myself by addressing my goals, skills, and job searching strategies. I found her to be very helpful in clarifying what was important to me, and what action steps I would need to take. It took some time and effort on my part, but I eventually was able to get a job in a new industry of interest, which fit in with my personal and financial goals, and provided me with a challenging opportunity to use my skills. If you are currently unemployed or underemployed and don’t know what to do next, I would definitely recommend meeting with Hilary.

She provided me with excellent resources for networking, and helped me excel in understanding career-​related topics when I needed it the most. She stays very current and looks beyond by organizing helpful group workshops, covering many different topics. It took me many months to finally contact Hilary because I had a certain idea of what a career counselor was like. I was afraid a counselor would be very «corporate» or condescending.
Well, I was extremely surprised and relieved when I started working with Hilary. She made me feel really good about my options and her approach is very thoughtful and intelligent.
