Architectural Graphics Systems was established in 1956 in San Francisco. We are a manufacturer of interior and exterior signage. Over the years, we have manufactured and installed signs for some of San Francisco’s iconic landmarks like the Bank of America building, Transamerica building, Embarcadero Center and Hilton Hotel.

It does not matter if you need one sign or hundred. We are here to support you with your branding needs. Our goal is to meet or exceed your expectations in our service, quality and delivery date.

Our services include manufacturing, installation of signage, sign permits, site survey, shop drawings and samples.

History

Established in 1956.

Architectural Graphic Systems was established in San Francisco on Mission and Second Street. We are a California sign contractor with a C-​45 contractor license. We are a family owned and operated sign company.

Meet the Manager

Manager

My work history with AGS started in 1972. I was taught the fundamentals of sign making by great craftsmen. I learned all there was to know about hot stamping, engraving and silks-​creening. My knowledge and skills steadily improved when I moved on to fabricating interior and exterior signage. As my experience and confidence grew I was sent out with the installation crews to the various job sites where I learned more on the job training. In 1977 I moved to the front offices working alongside my father, Erik, learning all the aspects of estimating, sales and project management. Then in March 1979 I took over the day-​to-​day operations of AGS. If it was not for my father’s encouragement and trust in me I would have never learned the fundamentals of successful business management and the importance of superior customer service.
