Henry’s features exceptional and quickly delivered fine Chinese food.

Terrible food for lunch. My expert Chinese food critic agrees. Much better places near by!

I recently discovered a Henry’s in the Mission district! How happy am I!!! I’ve been here twice and the food and service doesn’t disappoint. The fried rice is the and can’t go wrong. I would have given them 5 stars, but recently learned that some of their chicken dishes are made with dark meat. I ordered their sweet and sour chicken but failed to ask if it was white meat(my fault), because I assumed it would be. Alas, it was not. Although the crunchy coating and flavor of the sweet and sour dark meat chicken was good, so if you prefer dark meat, I highly recommend Henry’s Hunan!

Solid curry dishes. Very fast. Always nice to try new places around the house. Easy takeout.

I don’t understand the high reviews for this place. I just ordered takeout and got the following: Fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, Mongolian beef, and orange sauce chicken. The sweet and sour chicken tasted nothing like it’s supposed to. The fried rice had absolutely no flavor or color — it just tasted like rice with salt. Orange chicken wasn’t that bad. I would probably assume this place rushed our order which is maybe why it sucks, but I will definitely not be coming back.

Have eaten here a number of times with the boyfriend. The food is yummy and always fills me up! But what makes the experience even better is the quick service and the kind staff! They are so sweet and nice. They really make you feel welcomed. Thanks guys!

Great service, started with the meat pie yummy… ask to have the Mongolian beef a little spicy and they got it just right. The bar next door was bustling with lively music. IT’S A YES I WILLGOBACK

I was at a friends house in the area and was starving! Saw that Henry’s Hunan was just a block away and decided to try a few things. The Mongolian beef was so tender and the flavor was amazing! Sweet and sour chicken was just as appetizing! Overall, I ate there a week ago and can’t stop thinking about it!!!

I’ve been coming here for years. The food is good, but what put me over the edge is when my family and I sad down before two large groups came in. They served this group, they ate, got the bill, and we were still waiting for our food!!! The owner served her people first which was bullshit!!! FROMNOWONILLGOTOMANDARINHOUSEONMISSIONANDCORTLAND!!! This was probably the worst Chinese food ever. We didn’t come on a busy night, as there were only two other tables but maybe they were busy with takeout orders. Or maybe they had a new chef in training. I don’t know but it was really bad. Hot and sour soup: it was a suspension rather than soup because of the overload of corn starch. Instead of the hot coming from white pepper, there was an abuse of red pepper flakes. I had to use my hot tea to get the suspension some give just so I could spoon it. Terrible. Veggie egg rolls: the only good thing of the night. They were crispy and filled with fresh cabbage and fungus. Hunan spareribs: this was a health hazard. The meat had bone shards! You couldn’t even eat around the bone because of the tiny bites of shard sitting off the cut end.. . And in the rest of the dish. And the meat was probably bad or double cooked because it was dark, dry and tasted funky. Waste of a dish and money. Orange chicken: crispy but heavily battered and you can taste the peanut in the peanut oil. Combination fried rice: straightforward and the main thing that filled our tummies House special bean curd: what is the difference between bean curd and fried tofu? This dish was basically fried tofu triangles covered in a gloopy bean sauce that just sat on top of the said tofu rather than being absorbed in to it. Thank you for ruining Friday night dinner out and wasting $ 60. The service was friendly but not really attentive or efficient. There is nothing Hunan about this restaurant which didn’t even utilize any dry chilies but instead relies on red pepper flakes. I can’t believe that I would have rather had Panda Express.. .

It took an hour and a half to get my food delivered first of all and by the time it got here wasn’t hot anymore. Also, the food tastes extremely bland. The only thing I enjoyed were the dumplings. The orange chicken should not be called that, there’s nothing about it that is similar to what orange chicken is supposed to fast like. Awful. Only reason I order from here is because Crazy Pepper is closed in Monday’s.

Exploring the area around my new home for delicious meals, I found this cute spot. MSG gives me horrific migraines so I was overjoyed to read they don’t use it to season here! At the back of the menu they list their healthy food practices which include less sodium and no corn syrup or starch, fresh vegetables and trimming the fat when possible. Was I in heaven? The interior is humble but clean and the wait staff is very kind and attentive. I ordered the much talked of Diana’s Famous Meat Pie as an appetizer and found it delicious and unusual. The garlic chicken was moist, tender and flavorful with perfectly cooked(not too much) bamboo shoots, bell pepper and carrots, thinly sliced. The fortune cookie they offered at the end was one of the best I’ve had. They offer free delivery-yipee! And I will definitely be back soon.

Not your average Chinese food restaurant. Henry really is wonderful. And the food is fantastic. I’ve tried many different dishes and everything I’ve eaten has been delicious. Sometimes I need to say«not too spicy», but that’s easy enough. Last time I was there, after a patron finished her meal, she gave Henry a big hug. As I said, not your average restaurant. :-)

I first came across this restaurant while volunteering for Sunday Streets. Apparently the owner partnered with the organization to provide free food for all volunteers. Right away, you know that this is a good place. I looked it up on Unilocal, and awesome! It has 4 stars. So I was pretty stoked to try it. While we were waiting for our orders, they even brought us water. Much kindness, so hooked, very appreciative. The food was not bad for a Chinese/Hunan restaurant, but it wasn’t spectacular. All my friends and I got the rice plates, which came with soy sauce and sweet sour sauce. Ultimately, the food wasn’t that spectacular, but still satisfied my taste buds. I wouldn’t come back, but I had a good time just because of their service. Eat well and prosper,

I’ve been to a different location for dining in for several years but I’m no longer frequenting that location. It’s been a while, so I figured I’d give this location a try, for delivery. Luckily, it’s the same menu. Same recipes. REVIEWISFORDELIVERYONLY. Egg rolls = crispy. Vegetarian egg rolls. Hot and sour soup = piping hot and perfect blend of spice, heat and sourness. Quart sized container. Soup is comprised of tofu, shredded vegetables(bamboo shoots, black fungus(wood ear mushroom), carrots, scallions, and egg whites. Broccoli beef = crunchy broccoli with sliced beef in a delicious brown sauce. Not too greasy. Orange sauce chicken = deep fried battered chicken in a sticky orange sauce with some julienned green peppers. Love the sauce. Prices = moderate. All of the above was $ 37.50 with tax.

Great food great service. I was there today and had Diana’s meat pie, VJ Chicken extra spicy, curry shrimp extra spicy and kung pao Shrimp… extra spicy. The food was delicious and full of flavor. Eddy is a great manager with great people skills. The staff was attentive and provided top service. This is my favorite Henry’s Hunan. Keep up the great work Eddy!!!

Came here for soup takeout, a good if odd experience. I walked in through the wrong door, which is easy to do because this business also seems to be a thoroughly non-Chinese-restaurant-vibe dive bar. The bar is connected to a retro-furnished Chinese restaurant through an interior door. But the restaurant and the dive each have their own door. Anyway, the dude at the counter was super friendly and had me on my way with two large soups for a total of $ 14: the« Unilocal-famous» hot and sour soup, and the won ton soup which I opted to try based on me liking this elsewhere. The Unilocaliverse was wrong! The hot and sour was just fine but the won ton soup was aMAZing… that magical savory broth that can give chicken noodle a run for its money. Get that instead. Actually get it with the hot and sour soup so you realize how right I am.

I’m a Henry’s fan. When I lived in Noe they were my favorite Chinese delivery. Now they’re in NB(north beach) too. Love. My man lives in outer mission so we ordered from this location online. The goods: Diana’s meat pie. Get this. We both LOVED it. Never had it before & that’s a downright shame. We will never order from Henry’s without ordering this again. Serious. Pot stickers. Solid. I actually prefer pot stickers the Japanese way, gyoza, which are fried. But that’s just me & should not cause anyone to refrain from getting these. Chicken fried rice. Oh how I LOVE fried rice! Since I was a kid. One of the only things I can eat by the plateful repeatedly. Usually it’s pork, but we ordered chicken instead because Henry’s uses ham instead of BBQ pork pieces. This version is neither greasy or dry; neither over or under seasoned. No skimping on chicken either. Happiness on a plate. Spicy curry pork chow mein. Wow. Best chow mein I’ve had in recent memory. Nice & spicy. I drool. Orange chicken. What orange chicken always should be… sticky, tangy, fried decadence. Mongolian beef. Flavorful. Cooked well. Read: not rubbery. There it is. My Henry’s Hunan go-to’s. Always a great meal.

I made a mistake coming here during a Giants game, since the restaurant shared their space with a bar and the noise level was high. I got fried rice and kung pao chicken. The fried rice was kinda tasteless, however I like the kung pao chicken. It uses black bean sauce instead of the gooey brown sauce that I usually find in other Chinese restaurants.
