Off Broadway West Theatre Company was established in 2006 by theatre professional who decided to make a difference with the stories they tell. Long standing in the San Francisco community with experience ranging from acting, directing, producing, and design, nominated for and winners of acting and directing awards.

Our purpose is to combine great theatre classics with relevant new plays by plawrights from the East Coast as well as the West.

History

Established in 2006.

Wanting to be able to produce an excellent level of theatre in a manner that we would spearhead, we began Off Broadway West Theatre Company. Now we are a group of six artists with a definite vision. Currently we produce three plays per year: a new work, a comedy, a drama. Our home is always the Phoenix Theatre in San Francisco, a 50-​seat, three quarter thrust theatre, offering an intimate theatrical experience to our patrons.

Richard H.

Business Owner

As Artisitc Director of the company, Richard comes to OBW with 30 years of acting experience in all mediums of the business: film, television, industrials, commercials, and theatre– both in San Franciso and Los Angeles. He studies with many of the greats: Stella Adler, Jean Shelton, Dominic Difasio, Gerladine Baron. He also directs and has received nominations and awards for his acting and directing. He apprenticed with Jean Shelton for eight years in order to learn to teach her acting technique and does hold acting classes periodically in San Francisco.
