Healow’s Flowers

I had purchased 5 mylar balloons from Etsy and called to ask about the price to inflate them. $ 5 to get your balloon inflated! And that’s the quote I got per balloon!

A colleague sent me flowers from Healow’s, and truly, the arrangement was the most beautiful, dramatic, exotic I have ever seen. Extraordinary…

My bosses sent me an arrangement for staff appreciation day. The arrangement arrived mid afternoon and was really pretty, despite filler leaves that were already yellowed and brown. Unfortunately, when I arrived to work the next day (less than 24hrs later), half of the arrangement was dead or dying. I called first thing in the morning to complain about the dying flowers. The person I spoke with was professional and apologetic and offered to deliver a replacement arrangement. The replacement arrangement arrived but was significantly smaller and the quality of flowers used was significantly inferior to yesterday’s arrangement. It was awful and I refused the replacement arrangement. I called Healow’s again to complain about the replacement. They requested I send them pictures of the dying replacement, which I did. Why am I having to jump through so many hoops? What started out as a kind gesture by my bosses, has devolved into a frustrating and stressful exercise in customer disappointment.
I would NEVER use this service to send flowers to clients or anyone else.

This place is super expensive. I wish I had listened to all the other reviewers who complained about the same thing. I bought a money plant for $ 50. Then I saw a money plant (of the same size and even better quality braiding) at my local nursery for $ 22. I couldn’t believe it. Usually these plants are more expensive if the braiding is better meaning tighter and prettier but the one I bought from here was nowhere close to the one that was significantly cheaper.

My boyfriend who is new to San Francisco and isn’t aware of the absolutely incredible florists in this city sent me a an arrangement from Healow’s yesterday. He was charged $ 72 for 5 red roses and a bunch of carnations and a very simple vase. The roses are pretty, but not special. The carnations are partially dead and broken. First of all that’s absurd cost for what was delivered and secondly who uses carnations anymore? This city has sophisticated taste. You should be embarrassed not only of your price that you charged, but your selection in flowers. Your reviews are less than glowing and Unilocal is something relied on here. You may want to step up your game and think about the level of consumer in San Francisco. I will absolutely never use you.

This place is awesome. I ordered a bouquet from my boss to a member of our team and it arrived at the time I requested, with a handwritten note in a beautiful vase that looked even better than the beautiful picture online. They even sprayed it with water to give it a fresh, morning dew look. Besides that, I had accidentally misspelled the card online and called immediately to correct it. The lady on the phone was so sweet about it, saying she caught the spelling mistake and joked around with me about it. She ended the call by telling me to have a good day and called me sweetie. I was like AWW! So cute! Thanks for the beautiful bouquet. You have definitely become my go-​to florist for all future orders!

I ordered a birthday arrangement through teleflora, for my daughter in law. Since it was to be a surprise I added my cell number for contact. I was called by a female at 11:15 am, wanting to make the delivery. I asked her if she would make it the last delivery of the day since both my DIL and son work, and are not home at that time. She was upset and rude. I do not think it was an unusual request, but it seemed to upset her greatly. She said her last delivery was at 6 pm, and I agreed to that time. She asked if I could come out at 6 pm and meet her. I told her that there was a doorman, and she could leave the flowers there at 6. She became agitated, wanted to know why she couldn’t deliver the flowers at 11:30 am since there was a doorman. I wanted the later delivery time to keep the flowers fresh. I figured since they are a flower shop, they probably have a refrigerator.
Same woman calls me at 4:30 (not 6 pm as agreed) saying she was in front of the secured building, and she couldn’t find the doorman. I asked her to go across the courtyard to the main desk and leave them there. She started yelling at me, telling me she would not go hunting for someone to receive these flowers. By now I am wondering why I am paying delivery fees? She cant even cross the courtyard to go to the desk. She then told me she had gained entry into the building. I asked her to go to the apt # provided and leave the flowers ar the door stop, since this is a secured building. She started yelling and ranting and wouldn’t let me say anything. I hung up on her and called Teleflora to complain. Teleflora called the same lady and she told them she delivered the flowers. The doorman says she didn’t leave the flowers. So what I thought was going to be a nice gesture, turned out awful. I will never use this shop again! P. S. I think this lady must be the owner, I don’t think a delivery person would be this rude and risk loosing her job. P. S. still no flowers. I called Teleflora again and they are going to try and talk to this lady or send an arrangement through another shop.

Heolow’s Flowers saves the day again. I needed flowers in a pinch as a going away gift and Michele made me the best bouquet I could ask for! Thanks again!

I am extremely disappointed in the service that I received from Healows. My friend recently got engaged and I sent her an expensive bottle of champagne to congratulate her. The charge went through on my credit card and I assumed she had received the bottle. After a couple of weeks of not hearing anything from her, I thought it was a bit strange but knew that she was busy and did not want to presume anything. A mutual friend went to dinner with her, only to find out that she never received the champagne.
I called Healows to find out what happened, only to hear that the expensive bottle was LEFT ON THE SIDE OF THE BUILDING. Not even joking, the receptionist said ‘it seemed like a safe area’. Is it even legal to deliver alcohol without in-​person signatures? anyways, The fact that 1) i was not contacted to let me know what happened; 2) my credit card remain charged and 3) my friend did not get any champagne until A MONTH AFTER HER ENGAGEMENT — from another store obviously — forced me to write this review.
Not only was I baffled at the circumstances, but the way I was treated on the phone was apalling. I do not know how they continue to do business in this manner. So much for customer service… I never plan on using them again.

We ordered our wedding table arrangements, boutonnieres, corsages, and the bouquet from Healow’s and we couldn’t be happier. It was great working with Marianne from the get go and their prices were reasonable! We asked and received what we wanted — a simple and minimal but elegant flowers :) They were delivered fresh and on time on site. I definitely recommend them!

I’m reading the poor reviews on Healow’s Flowers and I have to say that I feel the issue isn’t Healow’s it’s FTD. I too ordered flowers through FTD and they messed up my order. This is the second time it’s happened through them. Anyway I cancelled my order from FTD and just called Healow’s directly. They were wonderful. So helpful and friendly. I will follow up with another review when my daughter gets her flowers tomorrow; however, I’m confident that everything will go smoothly now that I’ve taken FTD out of the equation.

I really debated on writing this review. Michele told me she’d have her boss call to discuss the situation with me the day after it happened. I waited a week to see if someone would call. Since no one has I’m coming on here.
Long story short, my husband ordered flowers through FTD to be delivered to me on Valentine’s Day. Valentine’s Day comes and goes without flowers. We email FTD and they say they’ll look into it. 7:30 that night I get a call from someone identifying herself as my florist saying the flowers will be there tomorrow. No «Sorry about that” — nothing Ok– fine.
Saturday comes and goes… No flowers. We call FTD. They say the florist is not responding to them and recommend we cancel our order. We do. 7:30 that night the phone rings again and a lady identifying herself as Michele from Healow’s Florist says she is just getting to her Mill Valley deliveries now and although she knows we canceled our order, she wanted to know if we still wanted the flowers as she had them with her. She said we wouldn’t be charged but as the flowers were really late she wanted to bring them anyway due to the inconvenience. I was really touched– after all, I had wanted the flowers in the first place. We tell her we are out but our babysitter is home and she can leave the flowers with the sitter. We get home at 9:00 pm. NO FLOWERS.
I call and leave Michele a message. «Hi, umm… Did you get lost? We were planning to go to bed soon…»
She calls back 15 minutes later and says that she will not be delivering the flowers because FTD is charging them for the canceled flowers and for a credit for us (which FTD says is not true). I’m sitting there in shock.
Me: «So after you called to say you knew we canceled the order but you were bringing them anyway, now you aren’t bringing them?
Michele: «Yes. I thought I could but my boss says we are losing too much money on this order.»
Me: «So then what are you going to do with the two day old flowers? Throw them away?»
Michele: «I guess so.»
Me: «This is ridiculous. Can you tell me the name of your business again? I want to speak to the owner.»
Michele: «I don’t feel comfortable giving you that information.»
Me: «What!!!» You already told me when you called the first time. I just want to clarify.»
Michele: «This is my family’s company and I don’t want you to give us a bad review.»
Me: «So you event though you ALREADY told me the name of your company when you called the first time to do something nice– now that I’m upset, you won’t give your company’s name?»
Michele: «Listen I’ve had a really hard 48 hours and I just can’t do this anymore…»
Me: «I want to speak to the owner. How can I speak to her?»
Michele: «I will have her call you tomorrow.» (She still never gave up the company name).
So I went a week without hearing from the owner. Luckily you can search a phone number pretty easily so when I googled the phone number that had popped up on my phone that night– it traced right back to Healow’s Flowers. To make matters worse, I discovered that I had been speaking to Michele the STORE MANAGER who always responds to customer complaints on here! I am just shaking my head at this situation…
I really hoped that someone from Healow’s would call and make this right. At least an «I’m sorry for being so totally unprofessional.» Honestly, that would have been great.
But as their customer service seems to be completely lacking any common courtesy or common sense– I feel like coming to Unilocal at this point is totally justified.

Healow’s Flowers is the only place that I will go for flowers. My latest order for Valentine’s Day was a great experience, as always. Despite how busy they were, they did their best to keep me updated with my order and accommodate all of my requests.
My girlfriend loves peonies, but since they are out of season, Healow’s offered to design a custom arrangement that was of high end quality as peonies. My girlfriend received a stunning bouquet at work and her flowers were a big hit at the office. Nearly one week later, the flowers are still looking as beautiful as the day she got them.
I’ve ordered through FTD before, and they charge up the a** in delivery and service fees. I discovered Healow’s by recommendation of a co-​worker and have been using them ever since. There’s really nothing better than patronizing a small, local family business that gives you in return personalized service, custom arrangements, and beautiful flowers — plus it’s always nice to visit the dogs that the owner brings in every now and then.

Just received an early delivery from Healows Flowers (via FTD) from my boyfriend for Valentine’s Day. The delivery came as scheduled, however the flowers are OLD. I just received them this morning, and some of the roses are already dying! I am extremely disappointed in the quality of the roses delivered.
Granted it’s Valentine’s Day tomorrow so they must be slammed, but receiving roses that are already wilting hours upon delivery is unacceptable. I do not recommend ordering through this florist.

I met Michele and her mother at a wedding fair at the City Club in San Francisco last month on 10/​06and still hadn’t decided on a florist for my 11÷02÷13 wedding. They had beautiful bouquets and arrangements set out on their table and after talking to Michele and other vendors, I decided to hire Healow’s flowers for my wedding. I’ve only just saw the negative reviews on here, but am happy to report that I had a really great experience with them!
I emailed Michele a list of boutonnieres, corsages, centerpieces, and she responded quickly with the price under my budget. They accommodated me when I needed to add more flowers and vases, and wrote names on the corresponding boutonnieres and corsages, and when they arrived at the wedding, the flowers were beautiful, chilled, moist, name-​tagged, and they took the time to pin the flowers on my loved ones correctly and sturdily. The only boutonnière that fell apart that whole night was my brother’s, which was mangled by his 2 year old daughter during the ceremony.
They were nothing but great to me, even when my first check bounced because of the time it took to transfer funds my savings to my checking and mailing in their payment. It was terrible planning on my part and I should have mentioned to cash the check a day later, which would have still been within their due date of final payment. Having never bounced a check before, I called to apologize and ask what I should do. The owner asked me with no attitude what had happened and told me that she would re-​deposit the check after several days, after I had reassured her that it wouldn’t bounce again! I asked her if I needed to pay her any extra money for the bounced check, and she only said the bank charged her $ 25 so I quickly told her I’d send a $ 25 check in the mail that would not bounce! She agreed. The two checks were deposited with no problems, AND I didn’t get yelled at! If I were her, I would have yelled at me! I felt terrible already and knew that if she had given me any type of lecture, I probably would have cried (not proud to admit that! –_​_​-​)
I had NO idea weddings were this stressful for everyone involved and I’m glad Healow’s flowers made it easier on me! Thank you!

Horrible experience. Ordered through FTD for girlfriend’s birthday. Wanted to have the item delivered via a florist because the UPS guy dropping a box seemed less special.
Couldn’t have gone more wrong. The flowers were delivered a day earlier than they were scheduled for and a bunch of them were so old my girlfriend had to throw them away immediately, but not before having to claim the rotten bunch from the front and carry them around the office to her desk.
It was embarrassing. When I contacted FTD they informed me the florist would want to come back and reclaim the flowers. I was shocked and insisted that this would be even worse than the damage already done. It looks like I’m just going to get my money back. Hopefully FTD can work a refund out, but I’ve learned my lesson.
If I had known who FTD was using, I’d have Unilocaled them ahead of time. I guess I expected better with the amount I was being charged. No more Healow’s Weeds and no more FTD for me.
UPDATE: After receiving repeated assurances from FTD that the florist would NOT go repossess the flowers and that I’d get a refund, I got word from my girlfriend an hour later that the florist had come by to take back the flowers anyway and was planning on delivering them again the next day. Really, can this experience get any worse?
RESPONSE: I’m not sure how to respond to a comment so I just had to put it here. While I understand that FTD bears some responsibility for the miscommunication, FTD was not responsible for delivering the flowers on the wrong day and for including damaged/​spoiled flowers in the arrangement. Perhaps I’m the 1/1,000,000 customer where Healow’s mixed up the dates, but there is no excuse for delivering bad flowers when I’m being charged so much. The flowers should’ve never left the store in that condition, and the delivery person should’ve never dropped them off if they saw the flowers were in bad condition. In conjunction with the wrong delivery date, it just demonstrates a lack of professionalism.
P. S. — I find it disturbing that you just included my girlfriend’s name in your response post. It is unprofessional to unnecessarily disclose customer information in a public forum like this.

Ordered 1 doz red roses and box of chocolates thru FTD
Flowers weren’t fresh
$ 20 dollar box of candy was missing
And for a nice personal touch they inserted their advertising card in the envelope along with the greeting card
$ 110 dollar bummer, never again, never again…

My parents sent me a flower arrangement for my birthday and had them delivered. The delivery person wished me a happy birthday… that was a sweet touch.
The flowers looked good for about a week… just as they are supposed to.

If there is a rating for negative 5, I would give it to Healow’s flowers. It deserves it.
My friend pre-​ordered a bridal bouquet and pre-​paid $ 180. But on the wedding day, when we got there to pick up, the flowers were not ready, because the owner thought it was for the next day. In a rush, she grabbed 10 yellow roses and bundled it together. We had no choice but took it. The next day, my friend called in and asked for a refund. Surprisingly, the lady was very arrogant and insisted they did not do anything wrong, not mention an apology.
– «You did not deliver the bridal flowers I ordered!»
– «I did! The yellow roses are».
– «But they are not bridal bouquet, they are just 10 yellow roses».
–«Yes they are! You did not show me the picture when you ordered, you only described it, and that’s exactly the flowers look like».
Ok it seemed we had huge different expectation about what the wedding flowers look like, but believe me, the bundle we got on the wedding day (10 roses) is nothing alike the flowers shown on the website. Also, shouldn’t they feel any sorry for not having the flowers ready on the wedding day???
–«You can’t charge me $ 180 for 10 roses. You should at least give me some refund».
–«This is my store, I charge whatever I want to charge. Don’t tell me how to do business.» «Let me tell you, there is no any penny refund.»”…“
I went into the store in the afternoon. I was expecting an apology. But the same thing happened to me. When I told them it is their opportunity to turn an unsatisfied customer to a loyal one, the owner even said I am blackmailing her. Well, a conversation can’t go on like this. My friend and I finally gave up the negotiation. So if you want a store to destroy your event, or if you want to get insulted, be sure to visit this store. I guarantee you will be satisfied. Else try to get away from it, as far as you can.

I shared the story on Healow’s flowers facebook. Within two days, the post, along with comments from others, was deleted. Now only those messages which made them look good are kept there. Unilocal is doing a good job for providing a fair enough platform for customers to share their experiences. Thanks Unilocal!

I was using my best estimation in favor of you to assume the number of flowers. It is actually 10 roses instead of «less than 20». But the cost of the flowers is not the key point. It is about the attitude and the way how you treat your customers. After a long talk, you finally offered me $ 50 but then told me you changed your mind and there was no refund. I felt I was such a fool. I can afford the extra dollars, I can stand you surcharged me more, but I can’t afford you ruined my good time, and I can’t stand you treat me like a fool. I can even forgive you for messing up the wedding, but I can’t forgive you the way you show no respect to customers and your attitude of arrogance.
I wanted to share my experience with other customers on Unilocal so they won’t repeat my mistake for trusting you for an important event. Your customer service is the worst I have seen and probably the one florist I have known all my life that messed up on a wedding date!

What a life saver! I needed to get flowers for my friend’s birthday and needed them in an hour. Since 1800Flowers only give you a time range delivery from 8am-​5pm. I thought to myself, cut the middle man and go straight to a local shop. I called everywhere in the financial district and no flower shop would help me and I was pressed for time. I contacted Healow and they took my order immediately.
I explained that its my girlfriend’s birthday and she likes things really girly, pretty and BIG! I told them I needed to deliver it within the hour since she leaves during Market hours. The nice lady over the phone (I think her name was Lynn, didn’t catch her name) was extremely helpful! She explained what she was going to put in the flower arrangement and assure me that it will look nice.
She called me again to give me status updates and to confirm with me when the flower was delivered. That was extremely helpful! My friend got her flowers and it was beautiful! Beyond what I imagined and all within great timing and affordable price.
Thank you so much Healow’s! You guys did an amazing job and truly a life saver :)
