Horrible lady working there was super rude and had a mouth like a drunk sailor. I suggest you find a place that’s happy to have customers and understand customer service and being kind.

The pancakes were surprisingly good. The staff was nice and brought our breakfast out quickly. Maybe a little expensive but it is San Francisco…

Excellent place to get a cup of Joe($ 1.50 for a large!). Omelets and croissants are tasty. The doughnuts are fresh and delicious. To top it all off, the ladies behind the counter are friendly. This is an outstanding place to start your morning.

One of my favorite places in San Francisco. Great family run place where they make you feel at home. Breakfast is great but don’t leave without the cinnamon rolls! I’ll BEBACK!!!

Note to self: skip this place — donuts too greasy, wrong temp oil — bear claw — pastry part tooooo heavy — two bites — enough — had to buy donuts so didn’t look closely –they even looked greasy upon closer inspection

I’ll tell you a thing or two about Happy Donut. First of all I don’t really eat donuts, but for some reason I’ve fallen under their surgary spell over the last several months. Come with me on a tale of indulgence… I forgot most all of the story but the moral is ALTHOUGH the donuts are great, the sausage breakfast sando it the one to rule them all. Stay woke.

I love this place. It has been there for as long as I have lived in San Francisco(almost 20 years now). The donuts are not the best, they aren’t always fresh, and the coffee is usually weak, but I still love this place. I am a fan of their Apple Fritter. It is large and has lots of actual apple. Very tasty, though not always fresh. I’ve found that asking specifically for a «fresh» one increases your chances of getting one that might actually be fresh. There aren’t too many places left where I can go get an Apple Fritter at 2 or 3 in the morning, but you still can here.

While staying at the Hilton, I decided to take a walk one morning and escape the $ 50 breakfasts at the hotel. I found this sweet spot a short walk away, with an incredibly friendly staff, flawless iced coffee and remarkable baked goods. They also have a cooler full of various beverages(if you’re staying at the Hilton, you’ll appreciate that these are actually at reasonable prices) and a varied sandwich menu. Great little spot with lovely staff!

The fried chicken was ight but I waited 45 minutes till I actually got it. Lady that worked the cashier had no idea what she was doing. I ordered one drink and she gave me 3, I’m not complaining but still I wanna know wtf she’s thinking.

Of course, a great place to stop before a long night drinking in Northbeach and Chinatown. Always a table to sit down for a moment, even in a larger group(6+). The guy behind the display is also really good about telling you which ones are still warm, which is oddly rare to find in donut shops. Haven’t had anything else besides milk and donuts so can’t comment on the coffee or other food.

Solid, cheap breakfast. Had the corned beef hash breakfast(hash, 2 eggs, hash browns, toast, ~$ 10) some hot chocolate(to go, as it took about 40 minutes to cool down from molten…), and a custard filled maple bar because I had already demolished my diet with the hash! Was good. Spartan would be an upgraded word for the décor… And I’m not sure if the old guys hanging out there at 5 am had pulses or were part of the décor… But if you’re looking for an early bite, this place works fine.

Disgusting donuts, their service was terrible and when I complained about the donuts, they were extremely rude and uneducated. I would not recommend the place at all and I would never come again.

Happy happy, indeed. It was too cold for gelato so after debating for a few minutes on whether or not this place was sketchy, we basically decided YOLO(as the kids say) and went for it. Once you get past the old man Asian gang hoarding all the tables, there’s a clean, stocked case of donuts, croissants, and bagels. We got a maple bar, a glazed twist, a maple cruller and a chocolate cruller. They have a huge selection of coffee blends, and a fridge full of milk, sodas, and juices. I honestly don’t remember how much we paid, but it was less than $ 10 for 4 donuts and 2 milks which is totally reasonable. The French crullers were definitely my favorite. The other donuts weren’t the best, but still really satisfying. Overall a solid donut joint that’s open 24⁄7. Don’t forget, cash only!

Open 24 hours and you’ll see the hoards of late night Asian men here just kicking it. Can’t say the donuts are fresh, but there is a little secret here if you have a late night craving and you’re out of cash … Chocolate cake! Damn, I’m sure they buy it daily from Costco or something but it’ll fill that sweet tooth at 1 in the morning and you have no cash. Otherwise you have your traditional stale and at some point during the day, fresh donuts. Check it out for a munch. It’s exactly what you see. Cheers!

So where do you go when walking the streets of SF, Golden Gate Bakery’s line is too long and the breakfast joint you visited before was expensive and didn’t even fill you up enough for the total of 10 miles of walking you’re doing/going to do? You stop at Happy Donuts. They’re open 24/7, they have donuts, sweets, coffee, GIANT bagels, cinnamon rolls and they’re cheap. There’s nothing extremely exotic here, you’re not going to find those decorative, fancied up, artistic donut creations that you’ll find in specialty donut shops. You’re just going to get the classics and greatest hits here. I’m talking maple bars, buttermilks, fritters, twists, glazed, custard & jelly filled… you know, the stuff that makes a donut shop a *donut shop*. I always have to gauge a place by my favorite donut items. Custard-filled, Maple Buttermilks… and well, anything maple. Luckily for me, they had maple custard filled and maple buttermilks. Boom! Winning! Give me one of each! They did me good on these. The maple flavor on both was excellent and the consistency of the maple buttermilk was perfect. Not too dry and not so moist that it was greasy, oily or under-cooked. They were excellent. Not sure if they were the best I’ve ever had but they were close enough to blur the line. Anyway, this place is solid in my book. Cash only I think, but that’s your classic donut shop. Get yourself some donuts and get em here.

We visited this place twice yesterday. In the morning we stopped in for some hot tea and were greeted warmly. The same experience when we came back for a sweet treat later in the evening. Nice place, clean, with a good selection of donuts, coffees, teas. I’m glad we stumbled upon it.

Delicious donuts at the edge of Chinatown! Alright, let’s be real here. Donuts are an essential part of life. They enhance the atoms and DNA in your body that triggers the hormones that will cause happiness and giddiness. The same effects can be caused by coffee and baby elephants but don’t quote me on this. I was swinging by my childhood Happy Donuts joint and oh dear… I forgot how good their donuts were. I had the old fashion maple today and it just melted my soul into the ocean of sweets!(okay okay I’ll stop haha) But seriously. I can’t begin to explain how happy this donut made me. It was 9am and all I had was half a cup of coffee. The old fashion maple was really moist and chewy with a thick layer of maple icing. It went perfectly with my coffee and even better on it’s own. The staff was incredibly smiley and friendly and that just brightened my day even more. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to start my morning.

I sure am happy that they’re open late. This was a terrific apres-cheesesteak stop, and a fantastic way to finish a night full of eating and pure gluttony. On the inside, this is a working man’s donut shop. It’s kind of stuck between the world of divey joint and fancy shop. It’s probably closer to divey, but with a kind of corporate shine to it. Probably not a place I’d hang out a lot of the time, but still a good lil’ stop. But you probably want to know about the donuts, eh? Well, I can report a mixed bag. Our bag of donuts had a simple chocolate glazed, which was nothing to write home about, and a cruller that was the winner of the batch. I didn’t get to taste other entrants, but they were reported as center of the pack. But the cruller was a highlight. Much more flavorful that anythings else, due to its ability to lock away that fry grease. In a town where there are divey and delightful donut shops dotting the landscape, I doubt I’ll make it a regular stop when I’m travelin’ through. But for the latenight craving, I’m happy I can rely on this little shop.

Looking for a bacon, egg&cheese sandwich then you found a spot. Not too inviting to sit down and have a lovely breakfast but the sandwiches are good. Nice staff.
