H2 Cards

Found out about H2 Cards on Unilocal and decided to check them out for invites for my upcoming wedding. I first called to find out about appointments and person over the phone was really friendly and welcoming. A week later fiancé, MIL and I went in to choose wedding invitations and were mesmerized by all the choices they had available, so much to choose from and it was great that we were able to accommodate some modifications on our selected invite. Jenny was very helpful, friendly and patient every step of the way — through ordering and especially proofing phase. And I got even more excited when the order was ready for pick up a week before it’s due date!
For quality of product and service, the price is right. I had my invitations printed in 3 languages + and enclosure card. Everything looks top notch! Can’t wait till my guests receive them :)

Mage at H2 Cards was great to work with! We communicated primarily through email, and she was very responsive in helping me come up with the designs I wanted for both my Save the Date cards and wedding invitations. We ended up with a very unique and modern design for both, and I received great feedback from our guests.

I love working with Jenny! She is really great to work with. I changed stationary companies because I wasn’t happy with the original stationary company I selected but H2 has exceeded my expectations. Their prices are great, they are very accommodating to my customized orders, and very responsive. I give Jenny and H2 an A+++!!!
PS: My invitations got a rave review by my guests.

The wesite makes you think that you are going to be able to pay approximatively 2 dollars per invitation. That is totally wrong, and along the process extra fees pile up.
This company does a really bad job of letting you know about all the details and extra fees you will have to pay.
Once you have chosen your invitation they ask you many questions.
The problem is that they do not give you a list, they ask you along the way (40 emails!), and then you realize that your wedding is in two months and you are in a rush.
Do not expect them to help you with your schedule. Their cards come from Hong Kong and they need 3 weeks to be shipped to their location.
We ended up paying emergency fees in order to have our invitations on time (one third of the cost and they only reduce your waiting time by 5 days).
We had scheduled to spend 200 dollars on invitations and we ended up spending more than 700 dollars. We are not fancy and we assembled them ourselves
The quality of the invitations was good though, we can not complain about that.
We got compliments about invitations from our families and friends but we will never recommend them because of their service.

The customer service here is truly excellent. Mage was patient and very quick to respond to my many emails and requests. I requested samples from here, and they arrived in less than a week, even though I live on the east coast. Very good quality, looks just like on the website. While a little more expensive than some other printing shops in Chinatown, the quality and good service might be well worth the cost.

I needed english & chinese invitations printed and found H2 Cards online. We looked at several different printers, but in the end, H2 Cards had designs that matched what we were looking for at reasonable prices. Customer service is excellent (thanks Mage!) and the quality of the printing and materials is great. They were very responsive via email and phone throughout the whole ordering process. Received my order on schedule. Nothing else I could have asked for.
Also, the H2 Cards web site actually has pricing, options, and ordering information listed. After searching online for weeks, I realized this was very hard to find amongst multi-​language printers, so their site is superior to pretty much all the other ones I looked at in terms of content and ordering capability.

I got so many complements on my wedding invitations thanks to H2 Cards. I wanted to incorporate the traditional Chinese wedding invitation (red, dual languages) with my wedding colors (blue and silver) and make it a little more modern; I achieved my objective thanks to Jenny and team.
My fiancé is Chinese and we wanted to stay respectful to his family’s traditions. We went through so many scenarios on how to execute our wedding invites (he works with a Chinatown printer to create a wedding invite for his side; I work with an American printer for my side) and got quotes from Chinatown and American stationary stores. When I walked into H2 Cards and saw an invitation set on their wall that had all the elements I wanted, I told my fiancé ‘that’s what I want.’ Between our friends, H2 is known as the ‘expensive’ invitation store, however I think they have a large selection to choose from that can fit both the traditional and modern bride.
Here are some tips:
–Be clear on what you want, down to the shade of red. I really wanted to a specific shade and initially was swayed to go with a different one. I eventually called Jenny and explained my situation and she worked with me to make sure my needs were met.
–Yes, you have to assemble your own invitation, but we DIDN’T. We got creative and found a set that didn’t require assembly. The self adhesive on the envelope also helped; in the end my fiancé and I stuffed our own invites (we were so excited when we got them) and did not have to call our family & friends for a ‘help us put together our invites’ party.
–They have a template for the wording (English & Cantonese) and it helped tremendously as there were no spelling errors on our proofs and invites. However, the spelling is in British English (honour vs. honor), so still go through the proofs with a fine comb.
–We saved some money by printing our directions and accommodations card at Kinko’s.
We really liked working with Jenny and H2. She gave us some freebies as we had a large order. We were happy with the way the invites turned out.

I am updating my review from before (below) and also adding another star to my rating!
H2 Cards is simply terrific. With all the stresses of wedding planning, dealing with various vendors and all the details involved, and all the juggling of various to-do’s…it was FANTASTIC to experience smooth sailing with our invitations. All thanks to H2 Cards!
We got our invitations right as scheduled, and they turned out fabulous… I love it! The proofs were entirely accurate in how the final product came out. H2 Card was very thorough and packed all the various components (RSVP card, directions card, etc.) nicely and perfectly. They even provided a complimentary complete invitation set, to show us what the completed product should look like (since our invitations required a bit of assembly).
I have already received feedback from guests saying how beautiful our invitation is, and how much they love it…
In summary, I can be difficult to please; yet H2 Cards not only met but exceeded my expectations. I feel like a spokesperson for them, with how much I want to rave about them! But don’t worry, I am not being paid to say all this… it’s simply the truth :)

So far, I am extremely impressed with the service of H2 Cards. I will update this review once we receive our wedding invitations, but I wanted to give feedback on the experience so far, for our wedding invitations.
My fiancé and I went to H2 on a Saturday morning (no appointment) and right away we were met with a friendly greeting by Jenny. She introduced us to their wall of samples, so we could get a sense of the styles we like. She respectfully left us alone to explore and ponder… then for the next 2.5 hours she patiently worked with us to pick out and design our invitation set! Honestly, I was not prepared for the design process to be so long, nor had I expected to actually place our order that day. But from the quality we saw and the awesome service, we were sold.
The process took a while in part due to the HUGE selection they had to choose from, and the details involved for customization. You really end up feeling like the invitation is one-​of-​a-​kind, designed just for you. Jenny was an angel for being so patient, and for giving such helpful guidance and feedback.
The response time and turnaround has been great as well. Since we’re on a bit of time crunch, Jenny laid out a very accommodating schedule from design to printing. I emailed H2 our invitation wording a couple of days later, and the art department was able to turn the proofs around in one day. That totally made my day! I wasn’t expecting proofs for at least a few more days… plus the designs came out just how Jenny had discussed with us (and how we had further instructed with our sample wording). These guys definitely know their stuff, and are great at what they do!
The ladies (Jenny and Janelle) here are very knowledgeable and super friendly. They’re also SUPER responsive and helpful via email and phone. This has been the best and easiest experience so far in our wedding planning process… I am definitely a fan of H2.
One last bit: since I was looking for a Chinese-​American style invitation that’s also modern, this place was ideal. A great feature of H2 is the Chinese translation. I specifically went to H2 because I knew they could print duo-​language invitations. In the end my parents wanted only English, so we didn’t go with the Chinese panel. But it wouldn’t have cost that much more to add Chinese. I really wanted the «double happiness» character on our invitation, though, and H2 had plenty of different motifs in that Chinese character to choose from.
As for pricing, it did end up going over our original budget. But so far it’s all been worth it. I can’t wait to see the actual invitations, once they’re printed. It’s not cheap to order invitations here, but it’s also not as insanely expensive as some other custom-​design places.
I know, this is a novel-​length review. But I just love when I come across a well-​run business!

I received a phone call from my mom about receiving our wedding invites.
Mom: «I got your invites today. They just arrived.»
Me: «They are nice right?»
Mom: «Why aren’t they red?»
Me: «I don’t like red. What’s wrong with champagne (gold)?»
Mom: «It’s not red, it should be red.»
Me: «Well, you didn’t help pay for it so too bad.»
Yes, wedding planning can be an ordeal and quite stressful. It has been particularly stressful with my mother complaining about how i’m not being traditional and not using red (meaning good luck and best for festivities such as weddings) as the official colors of my wedding. Sorry, mom, but I hate red!
We needed Chinese wording on our invitations and I not knowing a single character in Chinese, came to H2.
The girls here at H2 Cards are a gem. They made the entire invitation process easy peasy. H2 has an organized process. You pick out your invitation from an assortment to choose from… all organized in binders. They provide you with a invitation verbiage format or you can provide your own. I just emailed it to my parents and future in-​laws to fill in the blanks on the Chinese. Emailed that back to H2 and they emailed me back a proof. Once you approve the proof, it goes to print.
The only reason i’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because when I originally placed my order, I asked them to print my address on only 60 of the rsvp envelopes and to leave the remaining 40 blank. I changed my mind in the next 2 days and asked them to print the rest with my address. They said that I would have to pay an additional $ 30 bucks just to print the remaining 40. As a courtesy to a paying customer, they should have just printed it at no charge. Other than that I got my invites in about 2 weeks so they are quick too.
My invites came out great, with no errors and not in red. My mom doesn’t like them but i’m sure everyone else will!

My husband and I are fairly creative people and were set on hand-​making our invitations. We found the perfect paper at H2 Cards and asked who their vendor was. They wouldn’t tell us. Sadness ensued.
After a couple weeks of searching and moping, we went back to H2 Cards. We asked if it was possible to just print the text inserts, as we already had a design for our invitations. Lucky, they were very flexible! We ended up ordering the text in English and Chinese, and their RSVP cards. Our proofs came in a timely manner and everything was accurate. The actual product came earlier than quoted and the quality was superb! The bonus — the sweet floral scent of «Chinese paper.» Yum.
We seamlessly incorporated H2 Card’s product with our hand-​made invitations, and they turned out wonderfully! We couldn’t be more pleased, and got many complements from our guests.

They sure know what they’re doing. I got my Chinese wedding invitations here and they have a very large selection that you can browse through several boxes. If you are looking for your typical Chinese invitation, their selection will suffice. If you are looking for something more unique or even do the pocket design American invitation, I suggest to try somewhere else. I have to say some of their design and clip arts are very Chinesey but Chinese parents like that. =) They have a wording template that they go by so you just need to fill in your own information. Turn-​around time was quick as promised (about a week for draft and 2 weeks for production). Don’t depend on them to call you when the order is ready. It’s best to always call them for any problems/​questions.
I browsed through their wedding program selection and it’s ok. It’s cheap (like $ 1-​$ 2 for a fan-​fold) but the quality and design really isn’t all that great.

Great experience working with the sale people in this store, didn’t have any pressure to buy when we walked in. They are very professional and they have a good selections. The store is very clean and well set up for you to view your options. They also utilize new technologies, such as using email to communicate information, which is great for those that simply don’t have time to continuously visit their store or make phone calls. They were very good at ensuring the order is clear and correct, before it was sent off to be made. And the order did come as promised, which was a great relief for us as we were very near our wedding date.
The reasons for the 4 instead of a 5 are: 1) material of the cards are moderate (Ho Tai Printing & Art Goods has better material but not necessary good service) 2) prices of cards and the accessories are a bit more expensive than others we looked at, and 3) the material and the colors we wanted were either sold out or discontinued even though they were still showing them in their books.

I had to update and give them five stars even though I haven’t received my goods yet. This store is so professional. I am totally in peace when I leave the store. They show me the proofs immediately for my party favors, change the style on the spot and present it to me in different versions so I know I’ve chosen the right one.
It’s such a difference from the other print store I used for my invitations gone wrong. I walk out of that store a nervous wreck each time, but I walk out of H2 as if I just came from heaven squared and I’m floating on air. That could be because my wallet is a lot lighter too.
But it’s not fair to dock a star just for the price. You are paying for peace of mind. :-)

I ordered my wedding invitations here since my sister did hers about 6 yrs ago. Unfortunately, I am very disappointed. #1, the girl TRIED hard to provide good customer service but she’s a little too fresh for this business, and her coworkers were NOT helpful. They DID NOT offer any help even when she was stuck. They didn’t even show me how to tie my bowls for my invitations! I had to figure it out myself! I don’t blame the girl who sold the cards, but this place is simply lack of team work. #2, this place is a little pricey. the only time you get to find out your damage is after you already spent 2 – 3 hrs of picking out the things you need. The process is lengthy and exhausting. Reminds me of buying a car at the dealership. btw, I paid $ 400 something dollars for 50 cards. One thing I have to give credit to this place is the quality of their paper is very nice.

I tried the route of looking for local Chinese/​English printers, and HA! impossible. I’ll be putting my order through h2cards and will update my review after we get everything done! Rates are good, and after the messes that I’ve seen, I can’t wait to try this company. A friend of mine did her invites here, it came out great and she said she didn’t have a blip at all, so I’m feeling good about this. Thanks fellow Unilocalers for writing on this company!

There are certain things my mother insisted on the fiancé and I spending money on for the wedding. Things she says are the only things people really care about when they come to weddings. Here is the short list in order of what she has mentioned:
1. Wedding Favors (for real? People only care about free tchochkies? I’m loading up on favors and selling some junk mortgages then!)
2. Wedding Cake (even though most people don’t get a chance to eat the cake.)
3. Reception Food (a la 10 course seafood banquet.)
After literally months of slightly hinting at, slying mentioning, conveniently showing and blatantly stating that she thought 3D laser engraved crystal was a good idea for the favors I broke down and went to the website she found that had «inexpensive» laser engraved crystal.
I ordered one per family opting for additional favors for individual favors at a cheaper price. For those 75 families we spent a couple hundred with H2 cards. From the pictures the items were 3d laser engraved with the double happiness symbol, though the personalization was pad printed. This was very clear in the original picture which has now been replaced on the website.
Low and behold my surprise when the crystals arrived and they were completely pad printed instead of laser engraved! I contacted H2 cards immediately and they offered a reasonable amount of customer service but obviously would not replace the favors and since it was too close to the wedding date anyway, I asked for a partial refund on my couple of hundred. I was offered a piddly $ 50 gift certificate for use in their store. Blah.
You got me this time H2 but you’ll never have me again.

My fiancé and and I ordered our wedding invitations from here and had initially thought the place has a great selection and Mage the manager was great. Just becareful when making changes on the proofs we had our in both chinese and english. We had to make one slight change on the time of the ceremony and told Mage we needed to move it half an hour early and she said no problem and to just fax back the proof with the changes. I only changed it on the english proof and not the chinese proof since we both don’t read chinese and thought they will be smart enough to change it too. THEN when the invitations were ready the time on it was wrong! I had to call Mage up and was really upset, my finance got on the phone and she finally agree to reprint a portion of the invitations to us at no cost.

Great place! Friendly customer service. Great selection of wedding invitations and also other kinds of invitations and stationery (baby announcements, wedding programs, etc.) .I got my wedding invitations here. They were SO cute! I love them still! They were Chinese themed yet modern and classy.

This is the cutest store I have been to for «Chinese Inspired» wedding invitations. They have great customer service too and a great selection! They also have favors there and personalized candies and things of that nature. The store is set up real cute too. It is a little pricey but in the long run if you are looking for a nicer look, I think it would be worth it.
edit 05÷04÷2007… I decided to get my invitations done through H2 cards. i received my invitations and they turned out awesome! They also came really quick! Order was placed March 30^th and done by April 30^th, and I took a couple days to look over the proofs too! Mage was really patient and quick with responses, as I asked her a bunch of questions via Email.

The store is located in Chinatown, San Francisco. Our invite has a double happiness symbol on it. Their quality of paper is great. I was planning to design my wedding invites myself, but it became too burdensome b/​c my husband and I are very busy. I also scrapped the idea of doing my own invites b/​c my mother wanted them to be Chinese/​English. I’ve attached a copy of my invite here. You can’t see it here, but on the back of the English side is a Chinese translated version. The insert goes into the double happiness part (very unique design, I thought). Many of our guests loved the invites. BTW, H2 cards is also good to work with b/​c they make maps, inserts, etc. We had a separate and private ceremony in our backyard (and only invited family), so they made a special ceremony card for us. Cost = $ 1450 total (for 225 invites, envelopes, inserts, response card, ceremony card, all of which cost about $ 6.40 per invite). The cost sounds steep, but actually, with tax and everything they printed for me, it compared well to other places. As for H2, I gave 4.5 stars because how easy it was to work with them and for all the raves from relatives and friends. The folks who work at the store are also bilingual (Cantonese/​Mandarin). I worked with Mage. But I took away .5 stars because it was expensive, all in all.
