I walked in for a haircut around midday and was styled by Nancy. She did an amazing job on the cut. I asked her to use the clippers but she preffered the hand cut by scissors, she paid great attention to detail and took her time. I have never had a more detailed, personal hair cut. Great!

i’d have to agree. not knowing any better, i called up for a massage. i had a scheduled appointment about 20 minutes after i called. when i arrived i walked downstairs into a dimly lit basement with doors«treatment rooms» everywhere. there was no one else but me waiting when i showed up. however, it was lunch time, and one by one, my appointment kept getting pushed back for single men that were showing up in their work close. unless its a new phenomena, i didn’t realize men went to get massages during their lunch break. sketchy. very sketchy. after waiting for a long time, i left… and they didn’t seem bothered by it. weird place… more of a happy ending kind of place… i think.

Despite the past 2 bad reviews for this place… being Asian, I know what I am getting myself into and my expectations are lower. I’ve been to this place several times now for a facial. This time around I cannot say I recieved superb service from before. The place has gotten more messy(in the bathroom you will find toliet paper rolls, detergent, washer/dryer, hair dye cans). I always get my facial from Roda. They dont explain what they are doing to your face. You have to ask them. For a facial it is about $ 65. Cheaper than outside American places. They clean your face + toner. Steam your face for about 10 minutes. Start the extractions of the blackheads. Give you a mini massage on the neck/shoulder and hairline. Zap your face with this electricity to get rid of the bacteria and redness. Zap your face again but adding vitamin oils to it to be absorbed in the skin. Then they put a cooling mask one followed by a thin gauze like sponge on your face while putting another coat of cooling mask on your face. They leave you alone for 10 minutes for the mask to dry/harden. Clean your face, moisturize and put a hot towel on your face. The whole process is about 1h, 30 mins. I’ll have to start looking around for south bay facialists.

STAYAWAY This place is gross before you even walk in the door. I live in the area and I’m pretty sure this place is a front for prostitution. There is NEVER anyone there during the day but come about 8:00PM the single, slightly nervous middle age men pour in to the dimly lit hall the leads down into the dark basement that would be the«spa» Oh, and the best part about this spa front is the salon they have on street level. I walked in once to get my hair cut in the middle on the afternoon; the place was empty but yet they were completely booked for the day, «that’s odd” I thought. Never mind there was no one there to cut hair to begin with.

This place doesn’t even deserve one star. My sister and I bought our mother a gift certificate to this place back in Dec 2004. We chose this place because our mother lives close by. Our mother only recently used it. Or TRIED to use it. They refused to take it, claiming it had been too long. Never mind that right on the certificate next to Expiration date was N/A. By California law, no gift certificate expires. Don’t let any business tell you otherwise. They didn’t give a damn about the law and made up some lie to our mother about it being their policy and how there used to be a sign stating so. Our mother is nonconfrontational(i.e. wimpy) so she just paid and didn’t argue with them. Well! This fucked up dump has another thing coming if they think they can take $ 120 of our money and give nothing for it. We are so going to barge in there and bitch their heads off. Then, if they still don’t comply, we’re taking them to court. STAYAWAREFROMTHISPLACEATALLCOSTS!

I know that getting a massage in San Francisco usually equates to getting the«Thailand Tuck,» but this place seemed genuine. I heard through their website that they offered a $ 10 discount on all massages. The half hour was $ 35 and so while working late and with some upper back knots, felt this was a great way to see how this«new day spa» would work. The miserable waste of money began when I walked through the door. The first hint that I should have ran the other direction was that I was buzzed in. But every other Thailand Tuck Parlor in the city has hidden doors, and no windows. This place had windows, a reception desk and an extensive hair salon. I was led downstairs by people I could barely understand. Every second of this massage was riddled by my constant unease. I disrobed as you normally do in a massage situation and then for the next thirty minutes I wished I was somewhere completely different. This room suddenly seemed four feet small and every touch was compounded by an incessant desire to get up and leave. It was unmethodical, no style, and for crying out loud I left feeling more pain than I had walked in with. To top it off, the masseuse — if you can call her that could barely speak English and interrupted my massage with a phone call. Capped off with a few brushes of my scrotum, I was glad to re-robe and get the hell out of this poor excuse for a massage. To my horror, the«masseuse» was waiting outside my door to ask if I could give tip. Uh, hell no! And then when I went upstairs, suddenly my promised $ 10 discount vanished and I was also told that all credit card orders had to be $ 50 dollars. What a sham. Do not go here for any treatment, whether it be a massage, a facial, manicure or hairstyle. What a nightmare.
