Green Logic Construction

I recently (May 2011) had Green Logic paint my kitchen cabinets. Throughout the whole process they were very easy to deal with.
They arrived when they said they would, did an excellent job at a fair price and I now have a kitchen that looks brand new.

We had to remodel our bathroom; it was old, unloved and had been botched in a 1980’s remodel. It’s ugly blue tile and clamshell sink were the least of the problems. The water damage from shoddy and old plumbing were bigger concerns. We knew it was a job that was not going to be easy or cheap. Where to start?
Erast came out to take a look and give us an estimate, a long with 5 other firms, and he was by far one of the most thorough at poking and looking at the room and it’s challenges. Within 24 hours we had an estimate, ideas and rough plan for action. The proposal was not the cheapest but we felt good about the price and confident in our short communication time with Erast. Green Logic had the job. LOL Then they found out that we would be living there with our 5yo child throughout the construction (it’s the only bathroom.) The entire team was incredibly accommodating and every night we came home to a clean space.
The project took longer than expected because of some surprises inside the walls. Happens in every house but Green Logic took every find in stride and helped us work through them. They even dealt with picking up things up for us to speed things a long.

We used Green Logic Construction to install a new roof and liked them so much that we contracted with them to paint our house. Erast and Alex are the best! They were professional in every way. They are very knowledgeable about all aspects of construction, and we were very pleased with the quality of the work they did. They are punctual, friendly, and very conscientious. In fact, they did some favors for us at no extra cost. You can’t go wrong with them. We will definitely use them again.

I first used Erast and Green Logic in November 2006 to take care of several small issues at my rental property in the Castro. They responded quickly, made thoughtful suggestions, and resolved all 4 of my issues within just a few days (that first call was for shower plumbing, broken window crank, problem with garage door, and some lighting trouble).
Back in 2006, I was very impressed by how prompt and professional Erast and his team were. So, I kept using them.
Since that time, I have steadily increased my reliance on them and their quick and effective response is now key to the management of my building. In a few cases, there have been emergency situations (break-​ins, urgent plumbing issues, exploding water heaters, etc.) and every time Erast shows up immediately! This is a huge deal now that I don’t live in the city anymore — I can trust Erast to show up quickly and make good judgment calls if I’m not available.
Once, we had a plumbing issue that involved vintage fixtures which were discontinued long ago… anyone else would have decided all the affected fixtures must be replaced. Instead, Erast and Kiril actually *fabricated* the unavailable parts, and everything has been as good as new since! (that was 3 years ago)
In addition to maintenance and repair, Erast recently did a complete renovation of one of the bathrooms, transforming it from a boring and dated bathroom into a modern and really enjoyable part of the home. As with all his projects, he was fast, predictable, honest, and kept the lines of communication open throughout. He never tries to sell me on something I don’t need, and often helps me see options I wouldn’t have thought of on my own.
What more can you ask for? Oh, the rates have always been very fair and reasonable!

Be wary of sponsored results – sometimes it sounds too good to be true. In this case it was.
Well, not in the beginning, at least. I was interested in patching a leaky skylight. Erast showed quick turnaround time and stopped by my place within an hour or so as he had promised.
He recommended that I just replace my skylight since it was «hella old» in his words, and that the cheapest option would be a skydome type material from Home Depot. I think he told me $ 500 installed.
I later realized that I was also interested in replacing some windows in a bedroom and emailed to have them measured. No reply.
I got onto their website and initiated an online chat asking the same thing. He was the one who responded and then said he received my email and would have the person in charge of windows to come over and have a look.
Nothing else happened after that. Zip. Zero. Nothing on the skylight, and no follow-​up with windows. Now let me ask you: does that type of business deserve 5 stars? It just seemed like he really wasn’t that interested in replacing anything in my old home.
I went to Glass All instead and found that the home depot skydome he was recommending was not pure glass and thus prone to leak after a few years – that is why it’s cheap in the short-​term. If you need windows, go to Glass All instead. In hindsight, I’m sooooo glad that Erast didn’t follow up with me.
Update: Following the initial post, Erast quickly replied, apologized, and explained why he did not get back to me. I completely understood and am going to change the rating to be fair to him.

Without a doubt if I ever need work done around my house this is who I will go to. I cannot attest to a finished product, but I can say that Erest at Green Logic is amazing!
I called him at 8:15 in the morning to repair a broken window, he was at my house 15 minutes later, and did an awesome job removing a busted window and securing the whole in my wall because it was supposed to rain that night.
But then I was informed by my roommates that as renters, only our property manager could authorize work to be done on the building, so I had to call and cancell the work order. Erest had already ordered my new window and despite not being able to cancell that order, he still did not charge me a thing!
I can’t begin to express how above and beyond he went. He refused to take any payment from me desipte he had spent and hour and and half working with me. It is reassuring to know that there are honest contractors out there who won’t nickle and dime you!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Really nice guys. They came out to do an estimate today and were very friendly. Helped me diagnose the problem and it’s possible we may not need any work done. I kind of felt I should pay them just for the diagnosis. I went on their website this weekend, and they were available to come by Monday at 8am. Such great availability too!

When looking for contractors to mount my plasma with in wall wiring, immediately Erast and Green Logic stood out from the rest. Erast was very knowledgeable and provided me with a lot of useful information right from the start. A lot of the other contractors were only concerned with money, Erast was focused on the quality of work.
The job itself was a daunting task that took close to 2 days of labor. Erast did an outstanding job throughout the entire process, and I was completely happy with the end result.
Green Logic is awesome! I look forward to working with them again!
