History

Established in 2004.

What made me start my landscape maintenance company was my love of plants and the outdoors. The diversity of colors, growing needs, and special requirements allow me to create spectacular living art. Your yard in my canvas and the plants are my paints.

I started gardening at the age of ten. My first plant I grew was a cherry tomato plant in my bedroom window. I guess that in where my fascination with plants came from. The next year I turned my parent’s house’s front yard

into a vegetiable garden. While I was a Jr. and Sr. in high school I was a volunteer at the SF strybing arboretum. My task was to propagate plants from cuttings and seedlings into plants that would later be sold to the public. This was, of course, done under the supervision and descretion of the more experienced (older) workers, such as, Dr. Don Mahoney and others. I continued with higher education of horticulture at Butte College and CCSF. I am currently expanding my knowledge in landscape design and architecture at West Valley College.

Besides my green thumb with plants, I also design and install landscapes, install and repair irrigation systems, and I am very good at preparing outdoor landscapes for reality sales.

I’m sad that I didn’t get to experience the great service that other people have written about. I tried to schedule service the last three weeks and finally gave up. The first call I was able to talk to the owner, and he said he would call or email that evening. Didn’t hear anything and left messages the following two weeks. Never heard back, and I need to have the work finished. Hope others have better luck!

We hired Adam to fix up our backyard. We had re-​done it about a year again and have not touched it. So, we needed to clean up all the weeds/​leaves, and plant some bushes. He gave us a fairly expensive estimate, so I did all of the cleaning up of leaves and weeds to cut costs. Adam was to plant 10 plants and build a drip system.
He came the first day for a couple hours, second day he did not show up, third day he did not show up, next day he came to finish. When I was there, Adam was doing all the work and his other guy was raking around mulch, which was already laid out. I had a problem paying him $ 65/​hour for something that did not need to be done. He looked like he was walking around looking for something to do.
When he left that day, there was an extra plant, and all the vegetable that never got planted. There was also no mulch on an entire side of our backyard. When I asked him about it, he said he was told to leave that side, although it was discussed to put mulch up until a line drawn out in the dirt, where stones will go. That was a miscommunication.
This work took 3 hours OVER the estimated time, when I had done about 12 hours of cleaning up work before he had started the job (probably a lot slower than a professional gardener! But still should have shaved time off… It was a lot of work).
Overall, the back yard looks good. It does not look completed, but nothing I can’t do myself. I think $ 65/​hour per guy is too expensive, when I do not feel like it was efficient, it was very slow. You could get the same grade gardener for half the price.

Adam is wonderful! I called him based on these Unilocal reviews to help me tackle my over grown garden. I wanted to start a veggie garden but had no idea how to start. Plus I have three small dogs that I needed to figure out how to keep out of my veggies. Adam was great and built an awesome fence for my veggie garden. He cleared out all the old weeds, put in new soil, and planted veggies and herbs for me. He worked so hard and I will definitely be calling him again to help me with my garden. He’s a hard worker and such a nice man.
This is my second Unilocal review ever. Adam did such great job I wanted to write a great review for him.

Can I put ten stars on here? Adam was absolutely awesome… spent a good half an hour with me at no charge to assess the work that needed to be done… was prompt and showed up on time… the bid he gave us was really great and the work he did was outstanding… will definately be using his services again!!! My dog barks at everyone. Except Adam. When Adam comes to maintain our yard he lets himself in (I’ve given him our garage code) and gets to work. Our dog trots down to «help.» Our dog is a good judge of character, I’m a good judge of a beautiful lawn and Adam has great character and landscaping skills.
Adam helps me grow seasonable vegetables in raised beds he helped source. We’re trying to get kiwi vines to grow. He maintains our grass while we save up for a lap pool that will eventually go in the space. I’ll have Adam do the layout when it’s time.
I found Adam on Unilocal and haven’t had to look for anyone else. He is such a hard worker and does beautiful work. He’s really smart about plants and Bay Area ecology. He’s a trained landscape architect and incredibly nice.
«That is the nicest man I have ever met,» said my husband.
«I told you so,» I said.
Being nice may not be the most important quality in a landscaper, but when you meet Adam you’ll understand why it should be.

Adam from GGGS takes care of my yard so that I don’t have to! Adam is very kind and professional, and takes wonderful care of my green spaces. He also provides me with great ideas and solutions for sections of my yard that need some sprucing up. Adam has vast knowledge about different types of plants, and can even recommend which type of plant will be a good color combination with the aesthetics of your house. I highly recommend Adam to anyone.
