Specialties
For over 35 years our goal has always been to provide our customers with exceptional «Value for Dollar» choices in antiques and collectible furniture and accessories. The vast majority of our goods are imported from Europe, primarily Belgium, making us an excellent source for French, English and Flemish 19th Century furnishings.
Our website includes our entire inventory including a special «Coming Soon!» feature that gives our customers a preview of everything purchased but still on its way to our store, with an option to buy in advance of the goods arrival. All advance purchases come with a 100% satisfaction guarantee when they arrive.
You should also check out our «Buyer’s Club» for those looking for looking to make advance purchases with discounted pricing.
We love what we do and that sentiment is the first thing you’ll notice when you meet our knowledgeable, friendly, staff.
History
Established in 1979.
Grand Central Station Antiques was established in 1979 as a collective of small dealers in our first location on Market Street. Over the years we expanded to three stores and an auction house that were eventually consolidated into the location we now operate at 360 Bayshore Blvd.
It has always been our goal to provide as broad a spectrum of price ranges, styles, periods, and qualities as our money and expertise can provide. Our present location has presented us with a unique opportunity to grow in scope and quality. This business really is one that is a constant learning experience.
Meet the Business Owner
Robert M.
Business Owner
After having worked in a small antiques store for a few years while attending college, Robert McCartney purchased a medium sized collective on Market Street called Grand Central Station Antiques. The first years were spent learning the business and slowly taking over the collective as each dealer went their own way.
After several years and after acquiring two partners, Mr. McCartney began buying overseas, first in England, then Scotland, France and finally into Belgium. Mr. McCartney has been the sole buyer for Grand Central Station Antiques for over 30 years.
Now owned by a corporation with 5 partners, Mr. McCartney is still the largest shareholder and President of the Board. When not buying overseas, Mr. McCartney spends most of his time doing what he enjoys the most, selling his antiques.
