Goood Frikin Chicken

Love this place. We have been going here for 4 years and it never disappoints. There combo plates are great. I almost always get the chicken shawarma meal. It comes with a salad and one side. The hummus is the best I have ever had. The service is pleasant and the place is low key.
A true neighborhood gem.

faith in rotisserie chicken restored. Came here over the weekend for lunch & got seated promptly. Still a hidden gem that doesn’t get packed and the ordered the rotisserie chicken with house potatoes.
Chicken was well seasoned & cooked perfectly so that the meat was still juicy. I wasn’t even that hungry & had planned to save some for lunch the next day but ended up finishing my plate. I’d recommend saving room for dessert as they have a good selection of baklava’s to help alleviate the food coma that comes after eating here.

Rotisserie chicken is the best I’ve eaten. The hummus, pita bread with zatar and the lamb and rice are to die for. I generally order in and overeat.

I should start this review with the proviso that I’ve never actually eaten at the restaurant. However, I frequently get a to-​go flame-​broiled chicken, which is by far the best chicken take-​out in town. And their smoky-​tasting baba ganoush is the best I’ve ever tasted. The rotisserie chicken is fine, but if that’s what I’m after, I’ll just go to Costco and get a bigger one for a fraction of the cost.
Once again: the flame-​broiled chicken is the best chicken takeout in town, and it’s also better than any of the ways I can make chicken myself at home.

Definitely one of the top places to serve falafels. I have to be honest, I judged the book by its cover. Unenthusiastically I followed the bf to this neighborhood joint for dinner one day, expecting food as unimpressive as the name. But to my surprise, the half chicken was full of awesome spices, the dip (I think tahini /​garlic) was delicious, and the meat overall was juicy! Then came the humble falafel balls, which we nodded approvingly in between bites. Since then we have compared their falafel to multiple places in the south bay and none lived up to GFC.
Albeit pricey, the portions were good and I’ll definitely be back for the rotisserie chicken and falafels again! (then a third visit for new dishes)

The register czar is a bit in need of a strong drink. The Latin cooks look more delicious than the food. I’ll let ya know later; regarding the food I mean.

I love this place, except when they run out of chicken. Really. Sometimes they do.
If we split a whole chicken we are uncomfortably stuffed so we try to stick with the half. We can never decide between the Mac and cheese side dish or the hummus so we get both. The salad, garlic dip and pita that comes with the chicken are all scrumptious. I love the garlic yogurt drink and the Arabic tea. It’s nice to have non-​sweet drink choices. Eat in or take out for a great meal when you’re hungry.

The rotisserie chicken was moist, had layered flavors and was tender. I liked the cinnamon potatoes and pita bread that were served with it.

Though the vegetables are a little bit oily, the chicken tasted so good!

The name says it all. It’s goood.
My fiancé used to live around the corner and we’ve gotten countless combos from them. This time we used a groupon (keep an eye out they ALWAYS seem to have groupons) $ 20 for $ 30. Otherwise they are a bit pricey for what they serve.
We ordered three sides and a whole rotisserie chicken. The chicken is on a smaller side (a bit smaller than Costco chickens), but packed with flavor and moist. Love their pita and garlic sauce as well.
I won’t repeat what many have already said, but definitely a must try when you are in the area. Service is meh we usually do take out.

Omg the best ever!!! I had the Kefta KABAB. The beef was so moist and very well seasoned, great rice! Everything was great!!! The only thing is that is was like $ 18 I mean it’s worth it but $ 12 would be better. This is a must try 100%!!! I’m from Fairfield you will not find anything like this out there! I will totally be back. Oh and one side is for take out and the other is for dine in. 2 different entryways.

I guess I’d have to say:
it’s pretty good. .. yeah, pretty good. .. but not great.
But it’s not called Grrrreat Frikin’ Chicken is it?

So then it like totally works.

Anyways, here’s a quick breakdown of what I tried:
The chicken bordered closer to the drier side but has this savory seasoning /​coating that really sings with a just a dab of the tahini sauce.
Falafel wrap is decent but the falafels, much like the chicken, could benefit from a more moist center.
Sadly, the hummus had a nice creamy texture, good consistency, but was bland.
The baba ghanoosh, on the other hand (literally) was really frikin’ tasty. It had this super smokey component to it that had me thinking I should have ordered more.
So,
try Goood Frikin Chicken. They deliver (but who doesn’t?). I mean not them directly or anything but there’s these folks that will so you don’t have to deal with parking (man, I wish I thought of starting of up fleet of deliverers to serve the good people of The City food at nominal cost).

Do you want a hot sandwich made of slices of fresh chicken lightly dressed with garlic sauce? Then don’t get the garlic chicken sandwich.
Do you want week old chicken scraps smothered in institutional quality mayonnaise, served cold on stale bread? With a side of GI distress? Awesome, the garlic chicken sandwich is for you.

The food deserves a resounding ⁵⁄₅. I’ve had the mansaf, the chicken salad, the whole chicken, the kebabs, and all of those hit the spot. Definitely one of the best middle eastern restaurants in the city. Don’t forget to get the kanefeh (definitely the best middle eastern food I’ve had).
The staff deserves a ⁵⁄₅. Super sweet, super nice, super helpful, always have a smile on their face.
The restaurant and ambiance — ⁵⁄₅ — casual, clean, succinct, to the point.
The manager — ³⁄₅ — depends on which one. One was kind of an assh*le when it came to splitting cheques, but hey, not everyone can always be happy (at closing time).
Note: they will not ever let you split your check more than 2 ways.

This is one of my favorite Mediterranean restaurants, period! Each time I fly into San Fransisco I make this my first stop before I do anything else. I’ve tried the other local Middle Eastern joints and none of them hits the spot like they do. Their food takes me back to Palestine, it’s authenticity is truly unparalleled. The décor on the wall reminds me of the décor in the cafes that you would see in Ramallah. The waitresses are usually pretty sweet, although I think some of them might be new to the country so their English is not all that great. I will admit, some of the times that I’ve been there my water was empty for a little longer than it should have been, and they made me wait for the check longer than they should have, but honestly screw it, I’m patient, I’ll wait all damn day for chicken shawarma sandwich from Good Frikin Chicken!!!
Tip: Their portions are huge! So if ur not too hungry it’s honestly enough to share between two people.

Not just chicken! Delicious Mediterranean food! Easy to eat vegan. Family/​kid friendly.
We got here early-​ish for lunch and saw them making the falafels fresh. Very cool! The deluxe falafel wrap was great. Will def come back!

To be honest, the name is misleading.
«Goood Frikin Chicken» honestly sounds like a food truck or, at best, a divey mission fried chicken joint… When in reality, it’s a Greek restaurant? Classic bait and switch on the name alone.
Like most things, it all started with a groupon; $ 20 for $ 30 of food. Like a rookie, we purchased without checking Unilocal; It’s like committing to a first date without looking at your dates Facebook photos… and no, not the mobile uploads but the TAGGED photos of them. The stripped down truth.
Not knowing what to expect, we made reservations for noon on Sunday. Thank god we did, because when we walked in, we were the only two people in the whole restaurant. Did we make a reservation to rent the whole place out? I hope they don’t add that to our bill. The interior was… theme-​y. very… Mediterranean.
Now, $ 30 is an easy task for two. We opted for the full entrees which came with a side as well as a nice sized salad. We started with an ice tea and a Turkish coffee (think, espresso shot with some sugar).
Order 1: Mosakhan, which is pieces of moist, shredded chicken cooked with onions, pine nuts, and olive oil served in a grilled tortilla-​type bread. Think: el farolito super suiza minus the sour cream and guac. It was good, not breathtaking… But good. A little dry for my liking but some hot sauce fixed that. It came with a side of rice which was… rice. not a lot of flavor and was borderline hard.
Order 2: lamb shawarma, standard shawarma with some beautifully cooked lamb. This, to me, was the notable mention. It was big, it was packed with veggies and the lamb was seasoned perfectly. Oddly enough, our side was mac and cheese which was perfectly made and perfectly cheesy (like me!)
Service was great (granted, only patrons there of course). Our waitress checked in often, kept water filled and was overall nice.
GFC was good but maybe next time ill try the rotisserie chicken to see if they live up to the «goood frikin» part, but the mixed reviews for it steered me into other options.
May I suggest a name change? Goood frikin greek? Decent frikin greek?

Local middle eastern chicken place. Food was pretty tasty, filling, and portion size is rather large. Service is very attentive but a bit slow for a lunch visit. Would have been perfect for dinner, but most people are not looking to spend 90 minutes for lunch. Also, the owner has jazzed up the inside, but the floors, walls, and ceiling are dirty. Got a peak at the kitchen and found it dirty as well.
Lunch special came with a two course meal. First a large salad with a very tasty vinaigrette dressing. Then followed by my lunch, which was well spiced chicken kabob served with rice, a chopped tomato salad and delicious pita seasoned with spices and maybe even a hint of cinnamon.
Imagine our surprise to find this an ethnic Middle Eastern restaurant with such a catchy name. I really wanted to like this place, and may give it another shot. But based on the cleanliness factor, tough location for parking, and slow service, I am sticking with 3-​star for now.
