We stopped in a couple times this weekend… once for a quick snack run and a second time to try the amazing deli sandwiches! Service is awesome. Everyone we encountered there was super friendly and patient with the customers, even during their busy lunch rush when there was a line. You can smell the fresh bread when you walk in and then you get a look at the menu board and you’re in sandwich heaven. Choose one of their many combos or make your own. They don’t skip on the meats and the sauces add so much flavor! Try the sides… the creamy pesto pasta salad is fabulous. The wine selection is huge and I love that they carry some unique snacks and candies that I usually only see in specialty shops.

If you’re a fan of a good ol deli style sandwich, this might be the best sandwich spot in the marina/cow hollow area. No joke. Super unassuming given its location and corner store feel, Golden Gate has mastered 30+ types of sandos. They only use Boars Head meats(which is the highest quality), and have a great selection of assorted breads. I’d recommend the Dutch crunch or wheat. I’m pretty sure all of their«house» sandwiches come toasted, but make sure they throw yours in the oven too. The Darlicous is probably my favorite and go to when I’m in a hurry. Solid. You’ll usually find a pretty long line at lunchtime, but note that they make sandwiches until 8pm so dinner applies here too :) Make a stop here before heading into the Presidio and have yourself a picnic in the park!

Love this place for a killer sandwich and friendly people. There are so many different sandwiches to choose from. And there are benches outside!

GREAT sandwiches but BADBADATTITUDE. there are 2 Latinos that work there and they are the rudest people! As a Latino a experienced 2 times already that when they are helping other non LATINO costumers, they are very nice to them, but when they help me, the guys was arrogant and mean. My staff that works at a near hotel have told me the same thing about them and they decided not to go anymore. We always recommend to our high end guests to go there when they want a good sandwich but I already told my staff not to send them anymore. The owners and or the register guys are super nice and friendly. today 1÷10÷16 my employee went to buy 5 sandwiches and they came and told me again that the Latino guys was so mean to him again. my sandwich bread was like charcoal(over toasted) I think this is it and I’m over this place!!!

Ordered a turkey pepper jack sandwich on sourdough bread and it was one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in quite awhile. They do a great job with the bread(toasted) on this rainy day. Will definitely be coming here again and trying a speciality sandwich. The wait time was short and they had great service.

Great selection of delicious sandwiches, many with unusual ingredients. They usually toast their sandwiches. I’m a fan of the Spitfire sandwich, m’self. I remember coming here twenty years ago, and even back then, they had great sandwiches.

Sandwiches are the bomb! There’s a wide selection of beverages, alcoholic and non. Nice people, and great Greek food as well. The baklava is so tasty!

SUCH a great hidden sandwich spot in the city! Amazing selection of sandwiches, are you can create your own. I got the SanFranPsycho, which is turkey, bacon, pesto, some spreads, and toppings. On Dutch Crunch, which is always the best. It was really good, but a tad too much sauce for me. My sister made her own, with turkey AND prosciutto, extra pesto, and all the toppings. We shared both our sandwiches, and I liked hers better. Either way, it’s a great spot to pick up a sandwich and I will definitely be coming here again.

Hidden gem indeed! Great variety of spicy sandwiches. Great staff. Awesome sandwiches. I like them better than Ike’s, personally… maybe it’s the Dutch Crunch.

A hole in the wall spot, but my go to place for phenomenal sandwiches. Seriously, I’ve tried just about every sandwich, haven’t found one I don’t like. The SanFran Psycho would probably be my favorite. If you are a regular get a punch card so you can get your 11th one free.

I often do last minute sandwich orders from this place, and the staff is always quick, friendly, and accommodating. Plus they keep Kinder Bueno and Happy Hippos right on their front counter! Pretty good sandwich selection for meat lovers, however, I am eliminating a star due to the lack of adequate vegetarian options — they have such a huge meat selection, and some of us veggies get pretty bored with avocado, lettuce, and tomato sandwiches. Add some squash, sweet potato, and sprouts to the menu and I’d probably give a 5-star :)

Ok, i wanted to like this market/deli, i came in on Monday to get a sammich. Nothing fancy. Just turkey with bacon and gouda cheese. The person who took the order proceeds to go make my sammich, another person from behind the counter rings me up, i tell him, turkey with bacon and gouda sammich. $ 9.78 was the total. Get back to my office to eat my sammich, and there is no turkey. So i call them up, and to make a long story short, they said they’ll fix it, i said great, see you on Wednesday. So today is Wednesday, i go in before work, three people working there, and not one acknowledgement by any of them. No greeting, smile, or i’ll be right with you. Why waste my time? It’s not that hard to run a market/deli. If you hate your job, you should find another place of employment. Just sayin’ Attached is a pic of my sammich with receipt.

Awesome selection of sandwiches, each one made to order. Boar’s Head meat, great selection of bread, the sides are alright but they have plenty of drink and chip options as well. These guys work their asses off during the lunch rush and are always awesome. There’s often a line crowding the store around 12pm. I try to get there around 11:30 to beat the crowd. Any other time I’ve been in there it’s quiet as a mouse. Side note: they have a killer wine selection, standard booze choices and they have a few bottles hanging out in the freezer for a quick grab. Also beyond your basic liquor store groceries available, so if you need something they very well might have it.

How have I managed to work in the Presidio for four months and only just find out about this place? If my boss hadn’t announced a craving for sandwiches for the weekly meeting — instead of pizza — I still might not know about it. Love the sandwich menu — I’m slowly working my way through it(eating the«Rated R» as I type this!). Love the fact that I can pick up some fresh groceries on my way home, too(oops, did I forget an avocado for the salad? Sorted!) The guys behind the counter are always polite and sometimes even crack a smile if you’re nice to ‘em. And they have Bundaberg ginger beer, which ices the cake as far as I’m concerned. I’m told they’re planning to start offering delivery later in 2015, which would be great — no more staggering back to my office with lunch for half a dozen people. And is it me, or is a scruffed-up version of Ben Stiller working the cash register? Srsly, the resemblance is pretty strong. Great place for lunch, go try it. :)

I work very close by so suffice it to say we get sandwiches from this place in the office often. There’s not really much to say though. Sandwiches are amazing, location is thankfully convenient, and the guys that run the place are very friendly. For the quality of sandwich they provide, the pricing is right on the money as well. My only qualm is the fact that you can’t see a menu of their sandwiches unless you went down there. However, I solved that by snapping some pics and uploading them on here so YOU’REWELCOME. Come here for your sandwich needs and you will be pleasantly surprised by this seemingly unassuming liquor store. Hell grab your sandwiches/drinks and head over to the Presidio for an easy picnic. Love it.
