This place is neat. If you ever need a small gift for a friend who you’re not too close to but would like to be nice and want to know them better, I would come here. There’s a lot of neat stuff in there, and not so neat stuff. I would just only look at the neat stuff. I think they’ve had the same items for years since I was in middle school. Because the interior display and organization looks the same. And all the items seem to be familiarly same. I gave such a high rating because, well, it’s cheap, and I found some tissue paper in there for gifts! Now, I know where to go for cheaper gift wrapping. Also, my friend and I bought these realistic fake food key chains. IT’S SOCUTE! They have a lot of these key chains! Total for one was $ 1.63(tax included). Not all the items there are 99 cents. The highest price I saw in there was $ 1.50. I remember all the key chains were bowls of Chinese food and some KFC buckets.

not everything is 99 cents here anymores. it’s also very cramped. not enough room for me to turn around or browse without bumping into someones. diverse inventory: cosmetics, stationary, red money envelopes, small hardware, toys, electronic gadgets, etc. buys: fly stickem paper(.99) –for these days i don’t fell like chasing them around. notes: –everything probably china made. –friendly service.

Ok. This store is in SERIOUS need of a current review. I wish I had good things to say, but I don’t. Let me start by saying this is certainly NOT a «69¢» store! It’s not even a 99¢ store. It’s just one of many variety stores that carry the kind of inventory you find in a 99¢ store, but priced higher. Lots of stationary supplies(pens, notepads, stickers, paperclips, erasers, etc) kitchen and household items, party supplies and more. I went out of my way to go there, so to find out it was a waste of time irked me. It’s cluttered, but not as bad as other variety stores in that area. If you’re looking for this kind of store then it’s fine. Just know it’s not a 99¢ store.

I have seen plenty of 99 cent stores and this store makes the«what’s going on?» mark. This store has gone through a couple owners. Back then, this place was a shoe store that sold weird knockoffs of popuplar brands and since I was a little kid back in 2003, knockoff llighted UItraman and Digimon kicks made my day. Couple years later, it was empty, then it went through a couple owners before it ended up like this. Lots of weird charms and wooden swords that break in the next half hour are sold outside by a old chinese guy. Insid, they sell their wares, which are usually a couple pairs of brandless shoes, some pencils and just stuff you would find at any 99 cent store. Great back then, now it has lost its old charm.

This was one of the first 99 cents store to appear in Chinatown, back when it first opened– this place was HEAVEN! Cheaper & cute stuff nothing beats that! They had a bunch of household goods as well as some party favors that would retail at other stores for much more! Granted, everything isn’t «high quality» but who cares when it’s only 99 cents!

Dollar stores have useful items! There was a time when all dollar stores competed with one another, this was a few years ago, so they actually lowered the cost to 69 cents store. Neat huh? But the price is back up. yet it’s very worth it for the items you get. Decorations, toys, pens, anything!

sadly to report this store is closing the owner doesn’t want to renew his lease so he’s going to stick to his one store in visitation valley(i don’t think i’ll be venturing there) they had alot of good stuff while it lasted. they had the best selection in school supplies of all the 99 cents stores in chinatown. sad to see them go…

I love stores with cheap/cute stuff. I’d fall in love even more if it was just a bit bigger and a bit less crowded.

Some of the items are only 69 cents. Very cheap stuff but some of the stuff is useless. Sure beats a lot of other 99 cent stores. Stuff here is pretty organized and once in a while you can find some cute stuff.

They have most of the items you would need along with other useless junk you find too cute and all for SIXTY-NINECENTS! I am a bargain queen and I will rush from San Mateo just to shop here when I need to supply for my daughter’s birthday party. I had to find a small gift for 32 kids and found a pack of 8 pencils for 0.69…less than $ 3! The feeling you get walking out of the store and feeling like you took advantage and got the better end of the deal is priceless.

Pretty awesome place on the outskirts of Chinatown; as margie b. below says, there are actually a lot of things in this store that are sold for 69 cents instead of 99 cents. You have to look for the signs carefully – I know there are still a few items sold there that are«full price»(99 cents, geez). I found this place from a family friend, and I have put this store to good use when I need some necessities – I actually came here for some kitchen/bath essentials when I first moved into my apartment back in August 2007. Today I went back there, bought myself a nice little magazine rack – only 69 – 99 cents! Come on, if you’re looking to save money, this is one of those places to hit up. Yeah, maybe a lot of the things are kind of random, but they’re fun. The workers here don’t really speak English, but that’s okay, I can understand their Cantonese/Taishanese.

Despite the name of this business, things in there are sold for .69 cents. Yeah, .69 cents! NOT .99 cents! Take that the dollar store! In your face! HAHA! I know that most stuff in there might be completely useless, but sometimes I have some sort of shopping crisis where I need to buy anything to feel better, so I take a stroll throughout Chinatown to fulfill my compulsive behavior and I buy the most gadgets I can get for my non existent budget. And actually this store is clean and well organized so I don’t feel overwhelmed when I step in. It almost makes me want to go back to school as they sell lots of cute pens, erasers, books, file holders… I’d say it’s good for teachers or moms looking to spend less on simple school supplies. Good also for people like me who get those OCD periods of buying random inutile thingies.
