Fixed

Based on my experience with Fixed, I’d advise not to use them unless it is a very, very simple and obvious error by the DPT crew. Last summer received a parking ticket for blocking a driveway, which I certainly was not, as I’d taken time to ensure that neither the front nor back of my car was blocking either of the two driveways. It was a tight fit, but I have a compact car.
Unknown to me, one of the driveways belongs to some old witch who apparently calls DPT about every car that parks there. I’ve since seen other cars parked there also get tickets. So, I received a $ 106 fine for doing nothing wrong. My car was exactly at the edge but not impeding the driveway.
My friend suggested I use Fixed. At first all seemed good. I signed up with them, the process of which basically obligates you to pay the fine automatically if their «protest» is not successful, plus their fee. I sent them pics I took of my car bumper clearly not blocking the driveway. Their communication, right from the start, was on the shaky side of «okay».
Next step, I receive notice that their «first protest was not successful, and the fine has been paid on your behalf». Yeah, with my money. They apparently make no effort toward the second level protest, to which we are entitled. They told me I could pursue it myself, which I did. That required taking time off work to go to a hearing for administrative review. I presented my case, and the ruling was in my favor… in other words I was correct from the beginning.
After weeks of waiting for my paid fine refund from the city, I was notified by Fixed on Dec. 7^th that it had been sent to them, and asking me where to forward it. I gave my address. To date, I am still waiting. It’s been over three weeks. I’ve emailed them three times, but have been completely ignored.
I assume eventually the check will arrive. In the meanwhile, they have no phone number, nor address, so the only way to contact them is via email. If they ignore your emails, that makes them pretty useless. Given the fact that they failed in their protest, where I succeeded, and that they have my money, and that they charged me a fee for failing, I would not advise anyone to use them.
A good idea, executed poorly.

Do NOT USE the FIXED App! I’ve sent them all photos proving that my fine was not issued properly and it took a few month for them to «fight» for my rights with the city of San Francisco. What was the end result? They lost and I was charged full fine plus the
fees! Total Rip off! It was an easy case and if they couldn’t fix this, they will not be able to fix many others, still charging their fees! Great business model for ripping off your customers!!! Please avoid them, just pay the fine and you will save on your time and the
fees.
