Facial Plus-Noriega

I’ve been going to facial plus for many years now, starting with the Irving location. I have tried facials at many different locations, and this is by far the best! Overall, the facial quality is great; you can’t beat the price, and all the ladies who work there are super friendly.
I started coming to the Noriega location about a year ago… I think it’s more quaint, less intimidating, and more comfortable. it’s also slightly less busy, in my experience, and I’ve had no problems scheduling same day appointments the couple times I tried. my favorite part of the facial is extractions, and I think they do a great job consistently. the shoulder/​chest and hand/​forearm massages are relaxing as well… I always doze off throughout the 90 min, especially with the mask on… I leave with supple and glowing skin FOR 2 WEEKS! years ago, a package of 5 was $ 300, now it’s $ 350, but still a steal!

This was my first time getting a facial here. I was skeptical because I’ve had horrible facials before. I made an appointment at 9am and was running late, but I called them and told them I would be 20 minutes late and they were ok about it. I got front metered parking, and as soon as I walked in the lady asked me «did you park on a meter? I’ll set a timer so if you’re not done with your facial I’ll go back outside and put more quarters in for you»…how nice of her!
Now for the facial… I was very relaxed. My facial lady was very kind to me and explained that her English is not that great but she would try her best to tell me whatever she needs to tell me. She was so friendly, and sadly I do not remember her name. The facial lasted 90 minutes instead of the usual 60 at other places. A 90 minute facial for $ 80, not bad at all! She also massaged my hands and neck, which was so relaxing I fell asleep for a while. She spent a good amount of time doing extractions, and also put a very good amount of product on my face such as cleanser, mask, peel, and moisturizer. She wasn’t being cheap about it at all.
Overall, I was skeptical about this place but am glad I found this hidden gem! I was so relaxed and got a very good facial all for $ 80. I will DEFINITELY a be back here! :)

Thank you lord for finally letting me find an amazing place for facial! I’ve been trying many places out here and nothing comes close to the aestheticians I get back in Asia, until now! Vera, my aesthetician was meticulous yet gentle. All along the way she gave me some very helpful tips on how to better upkeep my skin. Tons of products used and a nice customized mask after extractions. The 5 pack is now $ 650 :(but still worth it! Can’t wait to be back.

I only trust Alice with my eyebrows and no one else.
I have been to many different places to get my eyebrows waxed but it ends up too thin, uneven, or the results are inconsistent.
Alice, however, is always consistent. She is patient and really takes her time to wax and shape my eyebrows. She also gives me advice on what to do to maintain them.
Alice is very amazing and very experienced.

Whitney is my favorite! It’s been a while and finally after 8 months hiatus after my baby born and her persistence in calling me, I was back! The one thing I realize that every facial that In have with Whitney is so consistent that I start memorizing what she will do next after one step! Didn’t have that with my previous facial lady for sure, although they are in the same name stores.
Whitney never skips any step, which is amazing! I’ve never felt hurried during facial. I even start memorizing her face message step!
But sshhh… I tried to keep her as my secret! Otherwise it will be hard to make appointment with her.

I go here every month for a facial treatment with Alice. Shes a great woman, she treats customers very well and shes very skilful at what she does

I came to this location for the first time and found myself really liking it! The Noriega location is a little more accessible than its Iriving street sister. I found residential parking a block away and liked that I didn’t have to worry about meter parking. The space also seems a little bigger and there’s a waiting area.
I find their 5-​facial package for $ 300 a great deal. Each session is 90 mins long, and for ladies it includes a relaxing chest/​shoulder massage. They also do a good job at extractions.
They offer Asian beauty products and cosmetics for sale as well. Overall a really good place to go for quality facials with good value!

I switched to this location from the Irving location for my facials. Noriega location is a lot more spacious, there are more rooms, and parking is a lot easier. This is a typical HK style facial place. I speak Cantonese, so communication with all the staff there is not a problem. It’s very quiet and I usually fall asleep during my facials. Just love this place =).

I had Alice.
She did extractions with the steam, but I felt most of the time she really just rushed through everything. The cleansing was very rushed. I was steamed for 10 – 15 minutes and extractions were quick where she left me alone (other places would be massaging your body). She did use treatment cream and massaged it in and then a treatment mask (better than Beauty Queen), but she also tried extracting some things unsuccessfully and now… I had pimples coming back where there weren’t any (because she just picked at it).
Also, the other thing that bugged me was that I was in the room for like 30 minutes with just the mask on. My forehead she got out some of the bad ones that I knew needed to be taken care of (which was why I went in), but she wasn’t able to successfully extra the other ones, they got worst.
The pricing for Noriega Facial Plus was $ 75 (I tipped $ 10 out of courtesy). I wouldn’t go back here either. I did ask for some samples of the Shisiedo products she used though just so I didn’t feel like I was getting as ripped off. :(

I booked a same day appointment for an eyelash perm ($ 45) with Sandy on a Sunday evening. The 5 star review from Kristin P. about her experience with an eyelash perm made the place promising. Overall the décor is pretty boring, but clean. I waited for about 5 minutes, although I didn’t see any other customers there, before I was brought back. The facial bed was comfortable enough, nothing luxurious, and Sandy just started working on my eyelashes right away.
I had no idea what was going on the whole time since none of the steps were explained to me, and a couple times I was left alone and without a clue as to how long I would have to wait. In the end, the process took about 75 minutes. The results I am somewhat pleased with. My eyelashes look nice from the front, but from the side you can tell that they just go straight up. I have long lashes, so it’s pretty obvious that there is no curve or shape to the perm. They just look OK, but I am happy that I do not have to curl my eyelashes every morning.
Next time I get an eyelash perm I will request Alice based on Kristin P.‘s review since at least she was able to discuss what she wanted with her and was extremely happy with her results. Sandy was very nice and gentle, and seemed to be taking great care in what she was doing, but I was not completely satisfied with the results.

Last Friday I got my facial done with Whitney. I called in day of, and was instantly scheduled for an appointment 30 minutes away from the time I called.
When I walked in, I was greeted by two ladies. They made me fill out a form of all my information. Then led me to the room where there was nice soft music in the background. The room was in desperate need of décor. The walls are completely blank. But at the least, it was very clean.
The facial was 90 minutes long and Whitney spent a great deal of time doing extractions. The extractions were painful, but comparing to past experiences with other estheticians, I would say Whitney’s technique made the experience more bearable. One thing that I would have liked would be that when she was extracting the area around my eyes, she removed the eye covers, which was very blinding. Then when she moved away from my eyes towards my forehead, my eyes were still under the blazing light. No one likes to be blinded by light, just saying.
After the extractions, she zapped my face with this sort of wand and she said that it helps close the pores. Then a heavy mask was applied to soothe my face and then I was laying there for a good fifteen-​twenty minutes. This was the most boring part. I wish that she could have given me a massage or something during this long waiting period.
Overall, I really liked my facial. My skin needed some deep cleansing and Whitney was great at helping me clear out my skin. It’s been a week and I can say that my skin feels very smooth. The extractions did not leave any scars nor made my skin worse. I know I can rely on Facial Plus for great extractions. And it’s a great deal! $ 75 for 90 minutes!!!

I been coming here for almost a year. Alice is a great esthetician! She is patience and gentle. She does good massage too! I always look forward to my facial and massage!

i came here june ’12 to get a facial mainly for adult acne which has been a constant problem over the past few years. i really was seeking a good esthetician who’s great at extracting zits. the esthetician (i forgot her name — she’s a taiwanese lady) said on first visits she doesnt do any hardcore extractions. it was more an intro to get to know my skin. ok whatever. so she gave a basic facial with some minor extracting which i didnt think accomplished much. maybe on follow-​up visits she’ll do major extractions, but i havent gone back since.
also, the décor can use some sprucing up with better lighting and furniture and coffee/​tea station in the waiting room to make it more comfy.

I’ve been to the Facial Plus– Irving store before and it’s harder for me to find parking so I ventured here instead. The rooms are much quieter and spacious.
Sandy did my facial ($ 70 for a European 90 min session). If you buy $ 100 of facial products (Shisheido, Quora), they knock off $ 10 for the facial. The prices for Shiseido products are pretty similar to the bottles you buy at Macys or Nordstroms with the exception that they gave you more samples and a free bag.
My face needed hydration and it was what I got after my 90 minute session.

1. Let me just begin with this: I HATE getting facials. I have gotten one ONCE before at a fancy shmancy spa at the top of some expensive-​ass department store in Taiwan. I just hate the idea of sitting still for so long.
2. I begrudgingly came here with my mom because she loves facials and wanted to spend time with me.
3. Still, I had a relaxing time. The place is clean, quiet, and thorough. My face was literally glowing when I left, and I felt like it stayed moisturized for several days after.
4. My favourite part was the hand warming mitts. They put lotion on your hands and then warm them up in these mitts. My hands get pretty dry and callousy because … I don’t take care of them, so that was a nice touch!

I went to Facial Plus after my aunt recommended Alice for an eyelash perm. I have gotten numerous eyelash perms and have never been fully satisfied with the results. I am Filipino and my eyelashes are stick straight. They are however, pretty long and do hold curl well. Anyway, Alice did the perm and they came out PERFECT! Other perms I’ve gotten either didn’t hold at all or were curled too tight and ended up making my eyelashes look short and tangled. But Alice got it just right. She asked me how I wanted them to come out and made sure to get a good idea of what I wanted. and the end result was perfect. The curl looks so natural! I will definitely be going to her from now on to get an eyelash perm and will also check out their facials!

I came to this place based on a recommendation of a friend. She said Alice was really good and very gentle, even during the extraction part of the facial. My friend definitely was right! Alice was so gentle and sweet! Alice also told me to scream at her if things got too painful for me. My threshold for pain is pretty high though so the pain was not severe at all. Overall the facial was very relaxing and enjoyable. I could not believe that 90 minutes went by so quickly! The products that were used on my face were very light and my face feel so much better. Oxygen to the pores does wonders! I was never pressured to buy any products either which I really appreciated! Alice gave me a quick consultation as well on my face and provided advice on how to take care of certain areas of my face.
If you buy packages, the price for the facials is extremely cheap. My one time visit was $ 70 (not including tax).
Be careful of parking in the area. The limit is 1 hour parking from Monday through Saturday so this wouldnt work for 90 minute facials. I recommend coming on a Sunday when there is no time restrictions on parking.
I would definitely come back here for a facial whenever I visit SF again.

this place is okay.
Let me start with the good first:
I liked the professionalism, cleanliness and also the privacy of being in a separate room (great for changing). I liked the heater running in the room before I entered. I loved the perks such as the deep moisturizing session with the hands and having them stuffed into warming mitts during the facial, massages on the upper body, arms, and face. The warming blanket I laid on top of was an awesome touch. They also cleaned up the brows (with tweezers) and upper lip and chin (via threading) free of charge. They gave me a great first impression and at some point I fell asleep and awoke by the sound of my own snort (luckily the facialist stepped out during my mask session. Hey don’t act like you have never done this before=P).
BUT…here come the missing stars:
Facial-​wise (European/​Renewal/​90min for $ 70), I have to say i was left wanting more and also better. I felt like they rushed every process due to the 90min time limit. Every do-​hickey lotion/​serum/​moisturizer was rubbed and patted on the face in an «okay-​times-​running-​out» type of manner. I almost felt as if I was wasting their time for giving them business. I guess I’m the type of girl who wants to feel valued. Oh and I have found out why most people don’t get redness on the face from the extractions because although they do prick and poke you with their tools, their main way of extraction seems to be pinching and squeezing your face to get the crap out. It’s like injuring you without the visible redness you see right after your facials. This may work for some but I wasn’t too fond of it.
To conclude this review, I’m going back to my tried and true facialist who charges almost 50% less but can give me every bang for my buck and more since there is no time limit. This is my definition of being pampered even if it’s only once a month. I am sorry I cheated… I was hoping Facial Plus’s book was as good as its cover=(Hey, don’t hate a girl for experimenting;)

I have been coming to Facial Plus for about 4 years now. I think they are very affordable. I usually do the 90 minute facials and it includes a facial massage, hand treatment, and they even clean up my eyebrows for me.
There’s no pressure to buy their products, plus they use quality shiseido products in their facials. My favorite practitioner is Whitney.
I’m knocking off a star only because the manager lady up front gives me a hard time for not setting up my appointments months in advance. Frankly that doesn’t work for me, and yet they are still able to accomodate my same week calls. oh well.

I love this place! Definitely worth every penny. The first reviewer has it spot on. I go to Sharon. Whitney also helps me. They’re both great.
Such a great deal! If you go you should be consistent with sessions. My skin is currently glowing.
I also went here before my wedding, skin was fabulous. Be sure to go 1 – 2 weeks before the big day. have at least a session prior to your last session before the big day so you know how your skin reacts to facials.
I love this place so much, I recommended my best friend to go here before her wedding.
