I enjoy having teeth. They are really useful! They’ve been really good to me. All the masticating I’ve done in my life, they’ve always been there, all 32 of them. So you can imagine my utter devastation when efforts to save one of my premolars didn’t work and I received word from my dentist that I would need an extraction and implant.
Dr. Luque helped me say farewell to that tooth with speed, efficiency, kindness and persistence. That tooth wasn’t an easy extraction. It wanted to stay with me. I wanted to stay with it. With laser focus and battle-​ready efficiency Dr. L broke, poked, drilled, cracked and prodded until every last piece was removed. Dissociating from the discomfort, I drifted away to a tropical island, maybe like that Dr. L told me he visited on his recent vacation, all the while listening to the soothing coos of Julieta Venegas and unfamiliar tropical rhythms playing in his office.
After approx. 30min, with a mouthful of gauze, staring at the splintered, bloody fragments of my tooth on the tray, I was saddened but relieved. Farewell tooth, thank you for everything!
And thanks Dr. Luque and his staff for making the procedure as smooth as possible.

Went to get my wisdom teeth pulled on ¹²⁄₁₈. I’m doing well and they took such good care of me. Crystal and Araceli were super amazing and sweet. Crystal called the day after my surgery to ensure everything was fine and that I didn’t have any questions which I found to be really helpful and reassuring. Crystal is extremely professional and super sweet. Araceli answered all my questions and is a beautiful kind human being. The back office staff (I didn’t get their names) but I believe the only guy (besides the Dr. luque) that works there was really professional and kind. The female with the dope tattoos was also super professional and kind. She had my mom come to the back and see once I was done with my wisdom teeth removal and explained everything really well to her. I really appreciate that a diverse, professional and empathetic dental office exists. Much love to them all. And I am healing amazingly!!!

I got all four of my wisdom teeth pulled. I was so scared because I really hate the dentist. I chose to get put to sleep. When I woke up, it was all over! No pain at all! Minimal swelling that went down super quickly. Loved the doctor he was kind and funny, made me feel comfortable. Overall, I had a great experience.

I went in for a consultation with my brother because it was time to take our wisdom teeth out.
First, we had to full out medical forms which you could do on their computer or by hand on paper. Next, we went in the room to answer a couple more questions and watched a brief education video clip on wisdom teeth. I forgot the lady’s name with the curly hair and glasses, but she is terrific! She’s so welcoming, friendly and has a great sense of humor. Afterwards, Dr. Luque popped in to examine our teeth and told us that we both had impacted wisdom teeth and that we had the option to be awake or put to sleep during the procedure. Without a doubt we both agreed that we didn’t want to be awake for any of this! Although it’s a bit hard to understand Dr. Luque because he has an accent and talks pretty fast, he gave us the impression that he knew what he was doing. I needed both my bottom wisdom teeth extracted, one was peeped out and the other was underneath the gum-​meaning no sign of the tooth.
On the day of our oral surgery, Dr. Luque and his staff were prepared. I made sure not to eat hours before the surgery (not even water!) and they hooked an IV to my arm. I was really nervous and terrified about what could go wrong, but Dr. Luque assured me that everything would be okay. About 1 – 2 hours later, when I was «awake», my mouth was filled with cotton pads. Because of the numbing, I didn’t feel much pain. A couple of hours went by and it began to hurt a little, but not as much as I thought it would. In fact, the pain level from 1 – 10, 1 being no pain and 10 being the worst pain, I felt about a 6. Just as the lady told me, the pain would begin on the 5^th or 6^th day, but still it was about a 6. After 2 weeks from my oral surgery, I was ready to eat normal foods without worrying. When we came back to get checked up, everything was looking great. The stitches were gone and the holes have closed. Dr. Luque is such a friendly dentist. He made my worst fear into a comfortable procedure.
I highly recommend Dr. Luque for a wisdom teeth extraction. Super funny guy!

I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Luque and his staff. I first met with him back in 2013 to discuss an implant for my front tooth. I was really anxious to get the process started, but Dr. Luque reassured me that he would do everything he could to make sure my implant looked as natural as possible. I had 4 extractions, some bone grafting, gum tissue grafting, and an implant all done by Dr. Luque (3 surgeries in total). Pain was always easy to control and I never had any complications. After 2 years and several visit to his office, I really got to know Dr. Luque and his staff very well. Aside from being professional, they are all really wonderful people. Dr. Luque accomplished the goal to restore my smile in time for my wedding this year. It’s such a great feeling knowing I no longer have to hide my teeth or feel self-​conscious. I had never imagined having dental implants, and reading online articles about it and reviews of oral surgeons overwhelmed me. After visiting two other oral surgeons, I met Dr. Luque.
Aside from his friendly deposition, he has 3d image systems for explaining things clearly: he is on Mission st: his estimate was most reasonable.
I have done 4 implants by him total, and so far they are good.
One and only complaint I have is that waiting time after my appointment. Sometimes 30 minutes, one time was 50 min wait for 5 minute check up.

Dr. Luque is the best. I had a tooth extracted and the procedure took less than 30 minutes and he explained everything that would occur before and after. He’s the best.

Got 3 wisdom teeth pulled yesterday and a crown from my wisdom tooth cut off (it was impacted and also in my nerves and they couldn’t pull it or it was cause permanent nerve damage) and I actually feel okay, a little painful but okay I can eat, talk and also no swelling. The team did a wonderful job. I was so nervous and fidgety because I was getting put to sleep but as soon as the needle poked me I was out and woke up a few mins later numb and on cloud 9. Thank you guys so much for talking such good care of me. ;)

I was having the worst pain from one of my wisdom teeth. I don’t have insurance, so I was putting off getting my teeth removed.
Finally I couldn’t take it anymore. I could barely open my mouth. I called on a Monday and they scheduled me a next day appointment.
I filled out paperwork online beforehand on their website. It was super simple and saved a lot of time!
The next day they removed both of my top wisdom teeth! The same day! Only one appointment! Everything went so smooth. It’s been a week and everything seems healed already.
Susie is the woman who helped me out in the office. So sweet!

I’ve had a mixed experience with this office. I went in for a wisdom tooth extraction which they told me ahead of time was going to be complicated due to the impacted position of my tooth. After surgery I developed an infection that lasted for over two months due to bone fragments that were closed up in the wound after surgery. I also had some billing issues, where I was getting overcharged because my insurance coverage wasn’t properly verified ahead of time. These were straightened out, but it’s a headache to deal after your mouth was infected for that long… All that said, the surgery could have gone worse, since severe nerve damage was a possibility, and the billing issues were cleared up. Dr Luque seems like a nice guy/​good surgeon but I would recommend verifying your own insurance coverage, particularly when it comes to different forms of anesthesia.

Let me start off by saying I am terrified of going to the dentist. I remember as a child the dentist would put me in a body strap so I couldn’t move and have his way with my teeth. I’m talking about being 7 – 8 years old and I still remember this vividly. Fast forward 25 years, and I am having major pain due to my impacted wisdom teeth. I made an appointment a week ago… I found dr. luque on Unilocal.I read each review thoroughly. His office was one of the few places that would extract my teeth without having to put me to sleep. Anyways, so here
I am now, 8 hours after my appointment… I had my 3 remaining wisdom
Teeth I had extracted, and also extracted an infected old tooth that I had a root canal on 10 years ago, and another tooth that was broken pretty badly. The doctor was able to bang all 5 teeth out within 45
Minutes. As soon as I met dr luque, I instantly felt comfortable and my anxiety levels dropped dramatically. He’s a cool guy, takes time to describe what he plans/​recommends I do. Gave me time to decide what I wanted to do. Most importantly, I had zero pain. I did not feel a thing. 5 teeth pulled, in 1 hour, and no pain??? Yes, exactly. And 8 hours later I feel fine and swelling has gone down and I look normal again. His staff was very friendly and comforting as well. I’m glad I decided to come here. Highly recommend.

I had very bad expérience with the lady called Araceli in their billing dept, she was going to charge me for a procedure which my insurance covers, thankfully I found out and I asked her to bill that portion to my insurance, usually all offices they don’t prefer payment from insurance because it takes them time to collect the payment, however it doesn’t give them the write to overcharge you and try to collect the money from you instead, because it’s illegal. My advise to everyone going there: BE CAREFUL WITH THIS LADY!
She was calling me and having a rude attitude and no sense of professionalism. I hope Dr. Juan Luques try to find someone more friendly, because this lady is affecting his hard work and you’ll have to deal with her if you go there, she is the one responsible of billing and payments, from the experience I had I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone at all I don’t like to have other people to go through the something! Find another place that are honest in regards of payment or you’ll find yourself stuck with 350 balance which I don’t know where it came from. The quotation they gave me in first day was away cheaper than what I have paid so far! How come you didn’t tell me this will cost me all of this money for an implant in first day? And that luckily I had insurance at that time. The lady didn’t even bill my insurance to get the abutment !

being a clinician myself, i hesitate to write this. I got 4 wisdom teeth removed and ended up with nerve damage… 12 months later and not much recovery. It has caused a great deal of discomfort and I could not even kiss my spouse without struggling on our wedding day, wearing a scarf is uncomfortable– any light touch with clothing or anything causes discomfort– the sensations are really frustrating and has affected my mood. i am awoken at night because the blanket has touched my chin… basically a quarter of my face is affected.

Best doctor in the city. I’m so glad I found Dr. Luque.
When I broke my jaw and required immediate attention, he cleared his schedule to see me. The Emergency Room referred me to other doctors who were unwilling and unable to perform the surgery I critically needed. When Dr Luque saw my X-​rays and heard that other doctors wouldn’t help he was legitimately upset. He got me into surgery the next day and I was eating solid foods a week later.
You’re in very capable hands at faces of the mission. Thanks again Dr. Luque!

I really can’t say enough good things about Dr. Luque and his staff. They are all incredibly top notch. Dr. Luque is a very talented oral surgeon — I had hardly any swelling or pain after my dental implant. You can really tell that Dr. Luque truly cares for what he does, and also for the quality of care his patients receive. I wish I could find more providers at his level of dedication, with such wonderful staff also. 5 stars all the way!

I went to Dr. Luque based on the Unilocal reviews. I just recently acquired dental insurance (woohoo adulthood!) and was eager to have my wisdom teeth removed. (Well, as eager as you can be about something like that.)
It was really easy to schedule a consultation, where they took a panoramic xray and discussed my options. I was able to schedule surgery a week or two later — super convenient.
Dr. Luque gave me clear instructions, described the procedure at the consult and again in advance of the surgery. I was somewhat nervous (I made the mistake of spending the morning of my surgery googling all the things that can go wrong during wisdom tooth extraction, so my #1 recommendation is not to google image search dry socket under any circumstances, ever.) but Dr. Luque and his staff made me feel quite comfortable. A friend met me to take me home, and I experienced very limited pain after the surgery. I was sent off with detailed instructions on after-​care as well as emergency contact info in case I needed to get in touch with Dr. Luque.
Rather than bore you with the details of my recovery, I’ll summarize by saying the procedure was successful, including a partial extraction of a tooth too close to a nerve for a full removal, my pain was minimal, and I healed quite well. I went back a week or so later for a checkup and got a clean bill of health. His staff are all friendly and professional. I was super satisfied with the experience.
A few weeks later, I received a statement in the mail. Apparently, my insurance company rejected one of the charges that the office had initially quoted me as being covered. I called the insurance company, and, no surprise, they weren’t particularly helpful and said I could ask my dentist to appeal. I called Dr. Luque’s office, and they told me not to worry, that they’d be in touch with my insurance provider, and if necessary would waive the difference if the appeal wouldn’t process.
AWESOME.

Dr. Luque is the best man to have ever to put his hands in my mouth. lol He has excellent bedside manner, he is funny and makes you feel completely comfortable. He explains every detail of what is going to happen and what the results will be. I had my last two wisdom teeth removed. It was such a smooth, easy, and painless process. The follow up two weeks later was just as easy.
The office is modern, with bright colors, killer coffee table books that you want to just sit in the waiting area and finish. Not kidding. The male staff are handsome! and the female staff are pretty, friendly and always smiling.
Considering how much I loathe being seen by the dentist, much less an oral surgeon, this experience was as smooth as silk, definitely worth each star.

Fantastic! I got all four wisdom teeth out here two weeks ago. Dr. Luque and his team were fast, friendly, and did a fantastic job. I’ve had barely any pain in the past two weeks and they’re healing super well. The office is always happy to field my questions and provided plenty of information to help me take care of my sockets.
I only wish I had more wisdom teeth for them to take out so that I could go back and use them more.

I initially went to a ghetto dentist in the clinic but she referred me to Dr. Luque and thank god she did! I came in here not knowing where I was walking into since the first dentist i visited I was scared for my life as I walked into the past of an outdated 80’s dental school office. I came into Dr. Luques office and was returned to 2012. The office was VERY CLEAN, MODERN, REFRESHING, and i love the décor and paint. The front desk ladies were nice and the asian dental assistant was very pleasant and eased my mind and fears of having my fractured #18 root canal removed.
Dr. Luque is a very warm and inviting dentist and isnt like any other, he was very hospitable and knew how to make the patient feel comfortable about the procedure with full explaination. I was then transfered to the operating room where everything was high tech, I remember in the 80s it was brown and yellow– but it felt like as if i was sitting in a living room not to mention the dental chair was very couch like.
The procedure only took roughly 5 minutes and I was done, the only pain i felt was the anesthesia and did not even feel any pain afterwords and that i was numb for 5 hours straight which is good in my thoughts. Overall I am very pleased with my visit, im actually looking forward to my wisdom tooth being pulled out! Thank you Dr. Luque, you will get my referral!
