After my car was rear-​ended I found out that they do all the body work for San Francisco Toyota. They did an excellent job with my car. It looks like original.

Extremely helpful! My bumper was dented and I asked if they could help pop it back into shape. They were so responsive, fast and effective. Bumper looks like new and they did not charge me:). That never happens in San Francisco! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Had a problem with my sliding door and went to the Honda dealership in SF. They sent me to a body shop. Of course I went to F. Lofrano where I previously had very good experiences fixing my bumper. When Greg was working on my estimate he found a faulty Honda design — the cable that is the closing mechanism for my door. He readjusted it in 15 minutes and didn’t even charge me for it. Greg and his crew really know cars and understand what they are doing! For any body work I’d trust Greg.

I went to F. Lograno for an estimate on damage to the front end of my Honda. I had been there two years prior and I was welcomed like an old friend. They remembered me and squeezed me in for an estimate with one day’s notice. Greg Blote was the person who helped me. He did the estimate, which only took 20 minutes I might add. He was super friendly, knowledgable and could have gotten me to pay thousands of dollars for repairs if he wasn’t so ethical! He gave me an offer I couldn’t refuse, fixed the front end in that 20 minutes that I was getting coffee, and gave me some no nonsense advice to not replace my front bumper or repaint my back bumper because I live in SF, park my car on the street, and would have to repeat the repair in a few months! I will ONLY go the F. Lofrano for body work. Hopefully, Greg will be there as well.

Someone hit the back of my new Yaris while trying to park and left scratches on the bumper, which I could live with, but the left side of the bumper snapped off from the rest of the car. I got an estimate of $ 1300 to replace the whole bumper because I was told one of the pieces that snapped was broken. Anyway, when I came in for my official estimate I was introduced to Greg. He was very friendly and nice and explained what needed to be done. He said I may not even need a new bumper but wanted to take a look at it first. Less than 15 minutes later he had connected the bumper and polished the scratches out and the bumper looked good as new! He said that the plastic pieces were just bent back and not broken. I was so relieved because he saved me so much money from the deductible that I would have had to pay and now I could cancel the insurance claim! It was so refreshing to meet such an honest and sincere person. Hopefully, I won’t need to have body work done anytime soon but if I do I will take my car back to Greg. I will also recommend Greg and F. Lofrano & Sons to friends looking for a great body shop!

Greg, Dennis, and the office staff were very professional and helpful. My car was repaired days earlier than was expected. And it was very clean inside and out. I was going to ask Greg about giving me another estimate for some scratches I made exiting my garage when he preempted me by pointing to the scratches. With a rag and thinner, Greg took off most of the paint and scratches, at no cost. He was very nice.

My front bumper on my RAV 4 had a pretty good size dent in it (my fault) so I brought it to F Lafrano to get a quote and amount if time it would take to fix. They gave me a great price (lower than an independent shop in the neighborhood) and the best if all it would take them just 2 days to fix (4 days less than the other place). I hired them in the spot and just got back car back! It looks amazing. They were incredibly professional.
Don’t let the fact that are crazy busy with lots if cars and clients turn you off. They give each customer personal attention. The staff is great!

Someone nicked by side mirror and left it dangling by a wire — I had duct taped it back on, filed an insurance claim, and took it to F. Lofrano & Son. They fixed it for my while I was waiting for free so I was able to cancel by claim. Amazing! They were super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

We had a small parking lot accident recently and took our vehicle to Lofrano’s (NOPA). They did an excellent job of handing the estimate as well as the insurance company assignment. The refurbished bumper (required by one insurance company) was installed and was indistinguishable from new. They washed the exterior, vacuumed the interior, and offered a free port check for an engine light on my way out. I would definitely trust and recommend them for future business.

I was directed to this shop by my car insurance company to work on my CLS 500. As soon as I chose this shop for my car they sent a Tow Truck driver to pick up my car. I was at work and my car was at my home, the driver came to pick up my keys then went to my home to tow the car to the shop. Amanda called me immediately and let me know my car had been delivered she also let me know she would keep me informed throughout the process and kept her word. different problems kept coming up with the sensory in the car so it took longer than expected that’s where Dolce came into play and let me know everything that was going on with the car and what needed to be done. It felt like they were my friends we knew each other by first name. Communication is key and they were A1 when it came to that. I will defiantly use this shop for my car needs from this point on. Thank you to all the staff !

These guys do good work, are professional, and pleasant to deal with. 5 stars on stuff that matter.
However, I’ve removed a star because afterwards, they’ll continually spam you with survey phone calls (without the decency to leave a voicemail if you don’t pick up) and spam you with TEXT MESSAGES over a month after the job was done.

Jesse totally helped me out! My bumper was falling off and he gave me the option of just putting it back in place or replacing the fender. I went with the screw to hold it in place. It’s going strong and saved me a pretty penny.
I appreciate the honesty and willingness to help!

To clarify– the low rating is mostly due to the administrating staff– not the repair work
1. Tried to book online– i received an email that I would be contacted by someone to confirm my appointment within 24 hours, never happened
2. Once I got to my estimate from Greg, he said that he could not take my car in at that moment, argued over the damage I had, and tried to stall the repair work until someone from the insurance company would come in and inspect and would not let me speak to my insurer directly. Once I talked to my insurance company they said it was not required for them to come in and they approved the charges
3. Repair took longer than estimated
4. They charged my card the price after the deductible —Argued with me that they didn’t
5. Admitted to mistake days later and had to get on the phone with my credit card company to reverse the charge
Since then i’ve been taking my car to Domport Auto Body on Fell St. GO THERE!

If you’re like me, there is nothing worse on the planet than insurance hassles with your car. Typically, these garages have you over a barrel making the whole experience a sour one. I was BLOWN AWAY by the service from this garage. The have a Keurig machine in the waiting room («Help yourself sir to a specialty coffee or hot chocolate.») and a mechanic with great people skills who knows that this is a stressful experience for 99% of their customers. I’m an engineer (read: pedantic) so even though the insurance company was handling this, I wanted to know all the details and they were all too happy to share them.
«Do you know a good mechanic?» Yes. Yes, I do.

I trust very few people in my life.
I also am one of those people who treats their car like a living being.
Thus, after nearly totaling my car (twice), I had to find a reliable and trustworthy place to nurse her back to health (twice.)
Dolcey handled the first incident, and she was very knowledgeable. I received bi-​weekly status updates on my car by phone and voicemail. Though I could not stand being away from my car, this made me feel at ease, especially knowing that F. Lofrano and Son was responsive and easy to contact.
For both incidents, Greg provided thorough descriptions of the damage and the extent of the repairs required. He happily emailed me an itemized list of estimates when I asked, and the total costs were ultimately reasonable and fair as I had expected. When I asked him to look into other options and various cost breakdowns for separate damages, Greg came prepared with all the answers. Throughout the entire process, Greg was patient and able to address all of my concerns. He also clearly explained the reasons for all the procedures and associated parts.
Upon receipt of my car from both crashes, Jessie took the time to explain everything on the invoice by popping the hood, pointing to the affected areas, explaining what was needed, and the outcome. Essentially, I got a play by play of the two-​week long repair, which I appreciated. He was highly professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. To this day, he has – by far– some of the best people-​skills I have ever seen. Not once did he treat me like I didn’t know anything about cars (I do), and somehow, he managed to make my day after learning about the extensive (and costly) damage my car endured. When my car was experiencing issues after the 2^nd repair, he was very considerate about my work schedule and provided me with realistic timelines so that I could plan accordingly. Throughout the process he was honest, respectful, and approachable for questions.
I had no hesitation to call F. Lofrano and Son for the second incident, and although I don’t plan on scratching my baby up again (knock on wood), F. Lofrano and Son will be my go-​to place.

This review is for Jesse C. — I had just been at the DMV trying to get my car titled and registered, and when it was my turn for inspections the DMV worker couldn’t open the hood of my car to check out the stickers on the inside. The lever that helps the hood pop open seemed to be malfunctioning, and I just about lost it when they told me to go get it fixed and come back. So, I Unilocaled auto body repair shops in the area, and F. Lofrano & Son seemed like a promising bet. Promising would turn out to be an understatement!
I pulled up, explained my predicament to the lady working in the office, and she sent Jesse my way. Jesse WD-40’d the crap out of the rusted lever, replaced a missing screw, and showed me how to MacGyver it, should the same thing happen again. When I asked him how much, he refused to let me pay! I went from totally bummed to beaming. I thanked Jesse, and promised to pen a glowing Unilocal!review.
But my tale does not end here…
So I’m back at the DMV, and after braving the peeved masses and brusque DMV workers, I have my shiny new California plates, and I’m given a slotted and a Phillips screwdriver so I can take the old ones off and surrender them to be recycled (hopefully). But my plates weren’t coming off without a fight — the bolts had rusted and I needed a 10 mm screwdriver to even have a prayer of prying those suckers loose. Back to Jesse I went! Another mechanic sees me and says, «You broke it again ALREADY?» Made me smile. Once again, Jesse fixes the problem in no time, installed the new plates, and even gave me plate rims that say «San Francisco» on them, free of charge. I was so happy I actually HUGGED him! Needless to say, I’ll be back whenever my car needs a little TLC, and I’ll be asking for Jesse.

Living in the city can bring some unexpected run-​ins with strangers who… well, hit your car. For some reason this year my car has been a magnet for $&@! drivers. I was really impressed when my insurance company referred this shop about 6m ago. They were fast, reliable and made my car look like new. Plus, they dealt with all the insurance bullsh! t so I did not have to.
I came back again last week when someone backed into my car again, and I was happy with the end result. The staff is great and they really made the whole process easy. Also, I appreciated the follow up calls and reminders so that I could plan accordingly.

Just had my car fixed after a van hit the driver’s side of it — great experience there! I was a bit skeptical to use a shop that my insurance (State Farm) recommended, but they did great work in the specified timeframe that I had while I was traveling. Multiple calls to update me on the progress, car was clean inside/​out when I got it back, and the customer service was quick and great! Highly recommend them!

AMAZING customer service — Dolcy is absolutely wonderful. They have had exccellent communication with me the entire time they’ve had my car, have been very responsive and polite.
Great to know — they allow you to turn in your rental car at the shop — no need to coordinate multiple cars!
