Elite is a boutique electronics retailer specializing in custom design, sales and installation of high-​end audio and theater products for home and business. Our products are primarily form European manufacturers, and are engineered to provide ultimate performance. Elite provides the highest level of service among electronic retailers in the nation.

At our new 5th & Folsom location, Elite’s coffee bar will feature Blue Bottle espresso drinks.

Lastly, Elite is devoted to being a good corporate citizen in San Francisco and look forward to providing training, jobs and business opportunities to member of the community.

History

Established in 2001.

Elite was founded on the belief that, while most people invest in fine home furnishings, artwork, jewelry, automobiles and other luxuries that enhance our lives, quality music systems are too frequently overlooked.

Currently located in a historic Victorian-​era flat in San Francisco’s Potrero Hill district, Elite’s home atmosphere allows visitors time to unwind and audition audio and home theater systems. Each of our four showrooms displays a different residential use: pure audio with no video display, one living room with concealed electronics, a second living room with full electronic display and multi-​room control, and a home theater with an 80″ motorized screen and projector.

As if the coffee bar out front wasnt a cool find already. The Electronics High Fidelity place in the back is even cooler. Met Mike who was super personable and let me browse as I didnt have a lot of time. The Meridian speakers are pretty drool worthy. Ive lost touch with the Krell and Pioneer Elite line of things but I think the visit here has jumpstarted that. THere’s a ton of gear that I dont even know anything about that I can geek out about.

Michael has a lot of experience in the field, and will give you an unbiased review of the gear he sells regardless of the price, he carries the very best in audio. on top of that he has a magnificent store, I would just go there to look at his store, one of the best in the city.

Haven’t actually been inside yet — have come by twice and both times was closed, even during their posted business hours. This time, the coffee shop told me that the owner had to run some errands so closed early (2 hours early on Saturday). Be sure to call before you swing by.
The store is located behind the Elite Audio Coffee Shop, so can be tricky to find, but there is a store there.
I’ll update my review if/​when I actually manage to get inside — but randomly closing is no way to run a business. I don’t appreciate having my time wasted. (What’s worst, I actually took my car to get served next door expecting to spend the hour waiting shopping for my audio equipment. Ended up walking over to House of Music instead.)

Wish someone would’ve told me that there is no storefront before we drove from the other side of town. Website was down, no answer on the phone. The address was a house address. Was really hoping to get some help choosing some equipment for our place especially after reading all the good reviews but will have to take business elsewhere

Michael Woods is what you want out of an audio dealer. Straight forward, honest and informative. Audio is part art and part science with a lot of choices and a lot of mumbo jumbo. Michael was able to assess my current set up as well as my knowledge of audio systems to make clear suggestions for improvement. The experience felt anything but «elite.» He even took the time to drop off equipment at my home. Pretty amazing.
One tip: Elite audio focuses on providing complete systems. So, if you’re looking for a full set up and want the best possible equipment, this is the right place to go.

Wow, Michael Woods and his team really impressed my husband and I. Michael listened to what we wanted, made some great suggestions that we hadn’t thought about, and worked with our modest budget to put together an excellent whole-​house audio system. We had so many questions about what home system to get and the pros and cons of one system versus another. Throughout the process though, Michael was extremely informative in explaining all of the options out there and patiently answered our endless questions. He worked with us to get the perfect system for our remodel. The installation went in a single day and was incorporated seamlessly into the house. We are extremely happy with the end result! I highly recommend Michael and Elite Audio Systems!

Elite installed a multiple floor indoor/​outdoor sound system in my home. I received 3 competing bids and Elite was the most reasonable in terms of cost and the most creative in terms in putting together a high quality system. My house was already built so it was complicated to put a multiple level in wall/​ceiling system throughout the house yet Elite was able to put in the exact system that I wanted with minimal disruption. I have seen other systems in other people’s houses and my system is by far the best I have seen.

I had a surround sound system in my house that was way too complicated to function properly with a family of users. I needed someone who understood our needs, appreciated high quality equipment and could provide a long time solution. Mike and his team did just that. But first I had the pleasure of visiting his showroom, which is worth the trip alone, just to get a sense of the taste, expertise and variety of offerings Elite can offer. But back to the work he did — remodel or work on existing buildings is never easy and they did a fantastic job as promised, clean, on-​time, on budget and it works better than we had hoped and all our friends want to know who did it — Elite!!!

When I bought a condo that was under construction, I met with Michael at Elite audio to help design and pre-​wire our entertainment system. Michael was very personable, friendly and informative. At no point did I think he was overcharging or trying to get me to buy things I didn’t need. I really appreciated his and his teams work. They went out of their way to get us special equipment and customized work to meet our requests. And the bottom line was very reasonable and outstanding produce. I am a very satisfied customer and would strongly recommend Elite audio to anyone looking to put that extra touch on their entertainment center.
