I read the reviews by Scott, Elmo and Ken here before dealing with Mr Daugherty so I had an inkling of what would come, but the unprofessional behavior I encountered was still surprising. Don’t do business with him.

YESYESYES… the other 2 reviews with 1 star ratings are not one off incidents where Mr. Edward Dougherty had an off day. This is just the way he operates and how property owners continue to use his services are beyond me. There are so many other professional real estate agents that treat their clients with respect and understanding, unlike Mr. Edward Dougherty where everything revolves around his time and convenience… which time management ironically is probably his weakest point. I am a business owner in the service industry and Mr. Ed Dougherty, working as a real estate agent is also in the service industry. How this person is able to remain in this competitive landscape where there are so many others performing and delivering well beyond his level is mind boggling for me. If this keeps up and he doesn’t change his ways, I don’t think there will by many more reviews after mine since he will not be working in this industry anymore. Not only was he 45 mins late to our appointment, when he finally got there, his cellphone was glued to his ears and we didn’t even have a change to ask him any questions as we toured the property. He did drop in a few lines here and there when it was convenient for him to do so but not when we wanted to ask as we toured the property. BEWAREPROPERTYOWNERS!!! DONOTLISTYOURPROPERTY(S) WITHMR. EDWARDDOUGHERTY. I know at least one of you owners lost a rental because of him. We switched to a property that was $ 2000 more per month because we got fed up with his evasive tactics because he wasn’t able to deliver on his promised timeline. We finally heard from him telling us we are good to go… HAHA… NOTHANKSBUDDY.

Definitely agree with Scott S. review of this agent. Had the exact same experience with this guy and would not recommend providing any personal information or fill out any application. If possible, find another agent that also represent the specific property listing(s) you’re interested in or contact the property management directly. After completing the applications and providing everything else in addition to what was asked, this guy went radio silence. No confirmation as to whether he has received our applications, whether it has been processed, whether he ran our credits check, no status update or response to let us know, etc… I’m very uncomfortable about this guy having our personal information.

TL;DR: He is completely unresponsive and rude after you put in your application. Couldn’t get in touch with him, even a «it’s still pending» email was beyond his capacity. I was remotely buzzed in to view an apartment Ed was showing, and after completely loving the location and the apartment itself, I gave Ed a follow up call. Everything went smoothly, he was cheerful and easy to talk to, and pressed the urgency of getting my application in as soon as possible so I might have the best chance of getting the apartment. So I did exactly that and put the application in immediately. Then I waited. And waited. Waiting isn’t an issue, honestly, so long as there’s an end you can expect to see. A deadline. I ended up emailing him twice over the next couple days asking if he’d received my application or had a chance to review it, just a confirmation of receipt of my app. Nothing. I called, twice, and received no answer. To top that off, his voicemail inbox was full, so I couldn’t leave a message. I finally got through to him one evening, and woah Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, this version of Ed Dougherty was a grumpy, snippy man. He told me he would definitely get me an answer the next day, but that phone call was the last I heard of him. I did send a few more follow up emails after that, just asking for a simply update, a deadline, a yes or a no. Something. I never received any of them. Finally, I saw the listing removed from his postlets site after googling him to see if this experience was common. I figured the least I could do for any other prospective renters would be to share my experience. Don’t deal with him if you can help it. I’ve been completely understanding through the entire process only to have him fail to treat me with even the most basic of human decencies.
