Small hole in the wall, but !!! I was in the neighborhood and it was breakfast time, so I thought I check Unilocal and pick a place to eat. Eddie’s sounded interesting, so Eddie’s it was! When I walked in and saw how small it was, I almost turned around, but the ladies behind the counter caught me with their warm greetings before I had a chance. So I walked in, sat at the counter and ordered a basic omelette with a cup of coffee. I tell you what, the place grew on me. People walked in and they all knew the staff. Even a few out of town visitors got a special treatment after they confessed they were SF Giants fans! They got their coffees delivered to them in SF Giants mugs :-) The coffee was OK, the omelette was good the atmospher was extremely friendly.

Eddie’s is a no-frills neighborhood diner known for its quirky collection of coffee mugs. With fancy, pricey hipster brunch places popping up along Divis, Eddie’s is a place where you can count on a solid homestyle breakfast for less than ten bucks, almost a rarity in San Francisco these days. We went on a Sunday just after 10AM and waited for 5 minutes to be seated at the counter. Shortly after we sat down, there was a line out the door down the block! Definitely recommend going early, but waiting is also not terrible since tables turnover quickly and you can always grab some coffee to sip while you’re in line. It looked like there were tables for 4 and 2, in addition to a 9 – 10 person counter, so probably better for small groups. Once we sat down service was attentive. We ordered the one sausage, two egg plates with hash browns and biscuits. This is definitely comfort food, so don’t come expecting fancy ingredients or Insta-plating. Do expect to eat a tasty, hearty breakfast with friendly service without breaking the bank. We’ll be back!

YES! YES! YES! Happened by Eddie’s Café with my daughter on Mother’s Day as we enjoyed reminiscing our family history when we came upon this mom & pop diner on the corner of Divisadero. Breakfast served all day sounded great so went took a chance… Well I now have another favorite go to in the City. Great local neighborhood joint with lots of character, clean, friendly, good food & prices… but I have to tell you the PANCAKES were amazing! Truly the best anywhere. Oh, and love the mismatched vintage coffee mugs — fun & great conversation pieces. Special surprise; I was asked if I was a mother, to which I said yes. I was further surprised when they gifted me a long stem rose«Happy Mother’s Day» they told me. Sweet! If you are in the area, stop in. If you aren’t in the area, drive there, then stop in!

It’s actually more than just adorable how they match a mug to the customer. The hetero couple next to me just got a superhero mug for her, and a Disney princess mug for him. They fresh home make their biscuits and are kind enough to tell you that’s what you«want» instead of plain old toast. The food is as basic as you’d expect, bacon, eggs and hash browns. You can’t mess that up too bad. Just don’t go in here expecting Michelin star quality, it is what it is. A greasy spoon counter owned by mom and pop.

Haters to the left. This mom and pop greasy spoon diner is genuinely charming. They consistently deliver on fast service and good food for a very reasonable price considering the portions.

So Eddies is really good I use to eat here all the time growing up. The different coffee mugs and the service is great. I love the food and how fast it is cooked I always order scrambled eggs with hash brown and sausage with a side of grits and biscuits. A lot of tourist eat here on there travels. They only take Cash so don’t forget that.

This place reminds me of the story about the Emperor with no clothes… Unless you met your wife here of 50 years, or found a winning lottery ticket under your chair here, or happen to be born here(yikes), it is beyond me why anyone would want to return here, other than nostalgia, etc. Simple and cheap isn’t always a reason to return, and it IS simple and it’s NOT that cheap. With all the great breakfast spots in San Francisco, spend an extra 10m of your life and get there, spend an extra $ 2 and enjoy what they offer. This place really isn’t worth it, no matter what measure you use.

This is my go to neighborhood diner. Great staff, fast service, consistently great breakfast. It’s very casual, not a fancy breakfast, but will leave you happy and full. It’s also really affordable. Best for groups of 2 to 4 people.

My partner and I came here for breakfast once and now we cannot get enough. We had the eggs, grits, toast, and chicken apple sausage. The coffee is strong, delicious, and unlimited. Everything tasted excellent. We had to wait in line for a few minutes as it was mid-day on a Saturday and the place was fuller than an outbound 5 bus at rush hour. Their diverse collection of coffee mugs is super cool and has helped them achieve a sort of cult following. If anything, my only qualm is that they gave me a Giants mug… I’m a Padres fan!

Eddie’s represents everything that is right with the world. Its a mom & pop. Its cheap. They keep the coffee flowing. They served me coffee in a ninja turtles mug. NINJA. TURTLES. Also they have an assortment of such eclectic mugs and no two are alike, so I’m sorry but statistically speaking you’re not going to get the ninja turtles mug. The menu contains pretty much just four things: eggs, meat, potatoes and pancakes, and all possible permutations of those things. Its cash only, but I’m cool with that. When was the last time you had a giant greasy breakfast? If your answer wasn’t «this morning», you’re a loser.

Let me start out with a history lesson. The Western Addition(or this part of it, known as Uptown) was a working class part of town. What you yuppies are calling a «greasey spoon» was established to offer the biggest bang for the buck. Nonetheless, the days of «Pimpcorridor» is no more, as Divis has been taken over by the bros/bras. Eddies is the very definition of a mom and pop, owned by hard working people. The food is consistent, breakfast is where it’s at(get the veg omelette, you porker). The hash browns are crunchy, biscuits are made in house with love. Pricing is now competitive with other restaurants now(about 10 for the omelette). Poop, I was hoping to have some change leftover for a dimebag from the dispensary. I recommend coming in early on the weekends, you’ll actually get to interact with some of the regulars. Be forewarned bro-O’clock starts ticking at 10−11ish.

Eddie’s is a simple and affordable diner with no frills. The food was actually better than I expected, albeit nothing you couldn’t make at home. I ordered the vegetable omelette with avocado, which comes with a side of grits or hash browns, and toast or biscuits. The toast and hash browns were whatever, but the omelette was really satisfying! My bf loves the bacon egg and cheese sandwich on toast, which is less than $ 5! Service is alright — servers are friendly but really busy.

I used to live by Eddie’s, and even if I don’t typically like breakfast I loved coming here. The food is tasty and cheap, service is cordial and there’s truly a diner vibe. I typically had the eggs and pork chops — I’m very partial towards pork. I was always happy — good portions and tasty breakfast. I loved getting my tea in one of their weird mugs. Food: 3.5 stars Service: 4 stars Ambience: 4 stars — if you’re looking for the diner feel, this is it.

Yes please. Finally a no frills brunch and breakfast place in San Francisco. This isn’t about the show of going to brunch. This is about actually getting good food for a good price and for anyone who doesn’t live here that has to sound like an odd sentiment. There will be a line here but that is only because everyone loves the food. The people here also love the people that come here. They don’t put up with nonsense so if you have too many people or try to show up and demand a spot they will kick you out. I love it. There is a bar to saddle up and eat at or many small tables in the establishment. You will get you own custom coffee cup with many different superheroes or tv characters on them which just add to the charm. They are also great at getting people in and out of here so they can actually serve more people food. What a novel idea! The owners serve the food and talk to all the customers and treat you like they want you to come back. From the outside it just looks like an old diner but people around here know its more. Similar to Golden Coffee on Sutter this is a hidden gem that if people don’t find out about you are more than okay with that because it means more delicious and inexpensive food for you and your friends. I loved the diverse crowd, the great owners and the wonderful breakfast foods all for under ten dollars. I am over standing in line for what I actually could get here for quicker and 50 dollars less. This is the place locals go and lets hope we can keep it that way. Cash only so don’t forget to hip up that ATM!

Legit diner food here. I ordered a Denver omelette with a side of hash and homemade biscuits. The omelette(donned with avocado, ham, tomatoes, and onions) tasted flavorful, but dry. Although the biscuits were homemade, they tasted chalky and lacked the buttery softness that describes biscuits. This quaint, mom-and-pop diner truly serves genuine, diner food at an affordable price for breakfast and lunch. But if you are looking for quality and tasty food, this diner might not be the best choice.
