Easy Breezy Frozen Yogurt

I love that there’s a frozen yogurt place in my neighborhood. I REALLY love that there are always two non-​dairy flavors, and not just anemic fruit ones – Vietnamese coffee! Cake batter! Chocolate!
But. When they opened – which wasn’t all that long ago – the cost was about 56 cents an ounce, if memory serves. It’s been creeping up and up, and now it’s 81 cents per ounce! Last time i was there, I filled one of the smallest cups up about halfway, and it cost between four and five bucks. I can imagine a filled large cup could easily set you back $ 10 or more.
I know it’s expensive to do business in this city, but that’s just too much. You can buy a pint of Ben & Jerry’s nondairy for what I paid for half a small cup. You can buy a burrito next door – an actual meal – for $ 5.70. So my trips here will be infrequent from here on out. Silver lining: maybe I’ll actually fit into my jeans again.

Went to Easy Breezy with a friend who had been there before and said it was definitely worth the extremely fully belly after a delicious Thai meal up the street. I got the Original Tart and Birthday Cake flavors (I’m a sucker for anything birthday cake flavor), and topped it with sprinkles, hot fudge, peanuts and strawberries. Oh goodness. This was delicious. Neither flavor was cloyingly sweet and it had just the right hint of a custard consistency/​taste. It did seem a tad pricey like others have mentioned, but like I said, I don’t get dessert very often so for me it was kind of a splurge and I had an idea of what I was getting into.
The place was clean and bright, and for it being on a Saturday night during Warriors playoffs, service was fast and efficient. I am not a big dairy dessert person, but this hit the spot.

Frozen yogurt is a weekly stop for me all over the city… But $ 8.95 for their smallest 12oz cup is absolutely ridiculous. The flavor selection is good and the staff is excellent. But the price is steep by any standards. I don’t Unilocal often or ever for that matter, but I felt I had to share my feeling of being brazenly ripped off today.

Best froyo in the city (esp now that Yogurtland is gone.)? The full fat custards are to die for, and the rest of the low fat and non fat flavors are pretty tasty too. Good selection of toppings as well! Nothing super crazy, but everything you need. My only complaint is that there aren’t more nonfat flavors (which was one of the best things about Yogurtland!)

I think this place is supposed to have elevated froyo, but it’s only as good as every other froyo I’ve had but at 2 – 2.5x the price ($ 0.81/oz is a lot and really adds up when you include fruit toppings).
Maybe I’m just missing the genes for a sophisticated froyo palate, but I don’t see why their yogurt warrants the price. That being said, still giving them 3 stars because I still happily devoured my cup in 3 mins despite the serious Sunset chill.

I live down the street and have been going here since the shop opened. Prices have skyrocketed, perhaps to fund the other locations that were opened in a relatively short amount of time. I do enjoy the occasional froyo, despite the froyo fad having already ended years ago. I used to frequent this establishment more in the past, but with the new prices, I just don’t think it’s worth it. I don’t have anything bad to say about the flavors and topping choices. They are just ok. Nothing truly spectacular. Fulfills a quick craving especially on those hot days. Would not wow out of town guests, especially if they’re paying $ 7.50 for it.

If you think this is your typical froyo spot, man are you mistaken! This isn’t a place where you can walk in and go crazy sampling froyo on your own. No siree! Instead, you have to wait for one of the workers to get the samples for you. Maybe the reason they have someone getting samples for you is because it is so damn expensive. $ 0.71/oz! (almost twice the price of other fro-​yo places) Holy shyzaaa!
Flavors:
But I think their unique flavors definitely make up for the price. I thought it was pretty hilarious that under the flavors, it’s labeled either «low-​fat» (w/​cashew or coconut milk) or «FULL-​fat» (w/​eggs & cream). Today’s flavor of the day was HORCHATA! I really enjoyed it when I sampled it. But course I opted for the «FULL-​FAT» w/​the chocolate custard, vanilla custard, and viet coffee. Such creamy goodness! (hence the cream I suppose) I would recommend! The other low-​fat flavors today were coconut and lemon hibiscus.
Toppings:
The toppings were also very eclectic, including horchata dough (say what???), coffee granola, passionfruit popping boba, chocolate covered marshmallows, and «very dark chocolate» brownies, only to name a few. I would have liked more fruit as toppings, however. I think they offered only two kinds of fruit. But overall, I’ve definitely never come across such a variety of toppings before. Of course they also have your usual toppings as well: mochi, cheesecake, heath pieces, gummy bears, m&ms, yogurt chips, etc.
I didn’t use it but i thought it was a nice touch that this place offers dividers you can place in your cups so that your froyo flavors aren’t mixed together.

Unseasonably warm weather means another review of something cold and refreshing! Because, you know, that will keep me cool in this hot, stuffy house…
Although I’m around 9^th Ave fairly often, I’d be lying if I said I was well aware of Easy Breezy all of this time. And believe me, no one is more disappointed with myself than myself. I mean, to think — all of those trips to the neighborhood (and all of that fighting for parking) and so many opportunities for froyo that I missed out on! Sadness.
Like so many other froyo joints out there, Easy Breezy allows you to fill your cup with whatever combination you like of their offered flavors and finish it off with their array of toppings to pick from. While the containers and trays of toppings are largely typical (sprinkles, nuts, bits of candy, mochi, fruits, syrups, etc.), the quality of their froyo is what makes them stand out. Only about eight types are available on any given day, but they go beyond that, offering each with varying fat contents (non, low, medium, high, and full).
During my two visits, I’ve mostly stuck with the same toppings (I’m boring like that), but I’ve tried a handful of their flavors:

The Almonds, Peanuts, and Strawberries were fine (hard to screw them up), but the Mochi was great — just the right gumminess and not overly sweet. Of the five flavors I tried, the custards were the best for the most part (I thought the coffee one tasted a little off). Not so coincidentally, the three also had the highest fat content (full fat), but they were the most flavorful and the creamiest. The pistachio (organic, low fat) was pretty solid as well, but the vanilla bean (non-​fat) was disappointing (thin, milky texture, almost tasteless).
As tasty as their stuff may be though, at $ 0.75 per ounce, Easy Breezy feels a little pricey compared to other froyo places I’ve been to. However, there’s no questioning the quality you get. Plus, they have stamp cards, so they do offer some value back. In any case, forego the few tables they have inside and take advantage of the benches out front. Perfect for those warm, SF nights, but pretty nice when it’s not so warm as well, especially when you’re on a date! Get cozy… ;)

Dear God, this froyo was expensive. When I lived in Pittsburgh, I got froyo for 41 cents per oz. This was over twice that much. I can’t even remember how much, but it was exorbitant, to the point where my (admittedly very large) bowl was. oh crap, I can’t remember how much it cost. Somewhere between $ 11 – 14. That is ridiculous. Completely ridiculous.
I’d been craving frozen yogurt for months, especially the pick your own toppings variety, so in that sense, Easy Breezy was just what I wanted. I loaded up a big bowl to share with my husband. The vanilla bean flavor was delicious (though the texture seemed quite a lot icier than I’m used to — less creamy more icy. Unknown as to why. Deducting star for texture), and they had a decent toppings range. Could’ve used more fruit. But I went to town with sprinkles, kiwi fruit, strawberries, m+ms, and various other things of the peanut butter and chocolate persuasion. It was overkill, but they don’t have froyo where I live and I’m experiencing withdrawal. I had to binge.
Serious sticker shock at the register. Too bad I couldn’t actually remove toppings or shove the frozen yogurt back in the machine at that point. Honestly it’s a joke. Every time I think, «Gee, living in California would be nice!» I eat a $ 12 bowl of frozen yogurt and I’m like «Nope.» Well, it was pretty good at least, and it satisfied the craving. But apply toppings carefully or face a high price!

Easy Breezy Lemon Squeezy. This is by far the most adorable yogurt store I have ever been in. I wouldn’t call myself a manly man, but the name and the super cute smiley-​face yogurt cup mascot gets me every time. Although the price is pretty steep compared to other stores (~75cents/​oz), both the quality and taste of the yogurts are second to none.
Since I am lactose intolerant, I do enjoy how they often have 2 – 3 non-​dairy options using almond milk or coconut milk as a substitute. But they have quite exotic flavors as well, for the average consumer; ranging from vietnamese coffee to oaxaca chili chocolate. Non-​dairy flavors I have tried in the past have been the blueberry & beyond, moscow mule, and peanut butter. I will warn you the dispensor is super quick, so if you only want a little, just pull it down for a second or else your cup will magically be fuller than you want. But is that really a bad problem?
Seats are limited, so just be wary when you are in line. And don’t be shy to ask the workers if you are looking to try a sample, since they are they ones that dispense the yogurt in the sample cups for you.
Definitely a place to check out for some high-​quality and unique flavor yogurt!

Love this place!!! They have traditional yogurt as well as use nut milks and custards and custom blend in all local organic ingredients daily. My favorite is the citrus hibiscus or the salty dog caramel if I’m feeling really like spoiling myself. And I just wish I lived closer so I could enjoy them more often! My
kids love it too and since my daughter loves custard this is the only place you can please the whole family.

decided to check this place out because of my Lyft rider who works here. She recommended all sorts of flavors, but I went with the vanilla. Before I sampled it, she told me «it’s really rich, it’s like boardwalk stuff.» Omg, she was right. It tasted sooo good and I also sampled the Thai tea flavor which was really good too! She told me that they make all their yogurts from scratch so there’s no artificial flavoring, which always great. Will definitely be coming back whenever I crave :)

Have come back a few more times and the toppings selection has gotten better as have the flavors. Tonight, I had the chocolate, Thai iced tea, and snicker doodle and loved every bite.
Sidebar: any place that has Capt’n Crunch AND kit kat as toppings gets extra points from me :)

My bf & I were thoroughly disappointed by this place :(
Let me start with the good — they offer some unique flavors (mint mojito, coffee toffee!) and a variety of nonfat, low-​fat, full-​fat, and non-​dairy options. And of course, they have original tart (which is my personal favorite).
BUTTT the flavors were hit/​miss and the consistency was a bit off. Some were also too watery! And at 71cents/​oz (aka almost double the price of Yogurtland!!), I just didn’t think it was worth it.
Also, there were flies hovering over the uncovered toppings bar. We tried telling the employees, but they did not seem bothered by the flies, did not apologize for the unsanitary-​ness, and worse of all, did not try to do anything to shoo away the flies!

Not only is the yogurt here extremely tasty bit it’s ultra cute too. And believe me, I know that’s a weird thing to say about yogurt. The bright blue logo features a smiling faced yogurt pot with a spoon. which is a little creepy now I think about it. Eat me, eat me, cannibalize my face and all. Well, whatev.
They have at least six flavours a day and they categorize these from non fat to fill fat. It’s a bit weird to have full fat fro-​yo, but they do say «worth it» so you want to trust them. They also use different milk (almond, etc) which is cool and they have a fun toppings bar to play with. I’m a big fan of their vanilla bean and chocolate, and most of the other flavors rotate.
I had a Mexican chocolate last week that left my tongue burning in a cool an unusual way. Anyone with a sweet tooth will love this place.

This is how froyo is supposed to be!
Yes, it’s on the pricier side compared to other places like Yogurtland. But you get what you pay for, the quality is top notch– for once my froyo is not half melted by the time I sit down to eat it.
Some of their frozen yogurt flavors are dairy free, so pay attention to the Ingredients if you are particular with the texture.
Chocolate + coffee + hot fudge + almonds + mochi = bomb dot com

Pros: The staff is friendly and offers to give samples without being prompted! The hours of the store are great for a bit later hang outs. There is a pretty good selection of yogurt flavors and toppings. I also like their cute cartoon logo.
Cons: I just wasn’t really feeling the texture of the yogurt. It wasn’t rich or thick enough… kind of like a thin, watered down version of pinkberry or yogurtland. Their best flavor is probably the original tart (which is my usual go-​to flavor).
Overall: For all the variety of yogurt places out there, I would probably skip this place if you are looking for good yogurt. It definitely doesn’t taste terrible… it is just a bit lackluster in my opinion.

Usually I like coffee or coconut anything.
Easy breezy proved me wrong.
Their Vietnamese coffee and coconut flavor tasted like lip balm.
Waxy. Bland. And left a weird film in my mouth that I’m still trying to wash down with water.
Their chocolate custard was okay though.
Really want to give this place two stars, but I’ll be nice… they are very expensive.
71 cents an ounce adds up quick!
My 71 cents worth of advice is to skip this place and find another dessert place.
2.5 rounded to 3 stars to avoid all the extra hate mail I’ve been getting lately from people hating my negative reviews.

REALLLY cute yogurt place with 6 – 7 featured flavors. Came here twice and had the peanut butter yogurt which was good and the mango lassi which was delish and exactly like the Indian drink that is super creamy.
I wish their toppings selection was more extensive but this is one of the first places that had waffle cone pieces really early on!

Wonderful little yogurt joint. Such friendly service and BF said he had the best peanut butter yogurt of his life here! This is high praise coming from a frequent (and I mean FREQUENT) ice cream/​yogurt/​gelato eater.
