Dry Clean Time of America

My long time cleaner retired last month. So, I was looking for a new place. I brought a few pieces to test them out. I have been pleased with their work. The store is clean and organized. Gilda and staffs are friendly. If they found issue with cloth (broken seam), they’d call first before proceeding. This is the type of professionalism that is much appreciated.
They deserve a five star.

It’s been 5+ years with them now as a cleaner and no problems. They will call if there is a stain and won’t come out in laundry (others wouldn’t notice). This is a rarity, especially with low prices. Don’t tell them but they should raise the prices! They do alterations as well and have had a number of pants hemmed.

I was told I had to drop off by 9:00am for same day service. I get there at 8:59am and the guy had already left. Sure I was cutting it close but if there’s a risk of the pickup being before 9, then they should tell people 8:45am. Never coming here again.

This is what happens when I skip reading reviews about a place before going. I work in the area and just didn’t have the time to go to my preferred cleaners in SOMA. I drop off BRAND NEW black pants (never worn). I ask them to dry clean. However, they took it upon themselves to machine wash the pants!
I see the pants and it looks like I’ve had them for 10 years! My Hudson black jeans that I paid more than $ 200 bucks for are ruined. The manager called with s message saying she could write me a letter to take to the store. Ok what do I tell saks? «hi I took the pants to a lousy cleaners who couldn’t follow instructions now please refund my money»? They took no responsibility whatsoever. This cleaners is awful and they simply don’t care or have the knowledge to take care of quality clothing. STAY AWAY if you care about your clothing. If not, watch out sending them anything nice.

I’ve been going to this place for quite sometime and I’ve enjoyed my interactions with some of the staff here up until recent. They’ve even called me occasionally when I have forgotten to pickup my dry cleaning as well. I’ve put up with the broken buttons and occasional stains that happen to appear on my cloths after handing my dress shirts over to them. It was the cheap cost and customer service that kept me coming back. However, three weeks ago, it was the customer service that caused me to never want to go back. The girl that was helping was extremely resist about taking my card. When she did decide to take the card and run it, she didn’t prompt the machine to accept the transaction. She only swiped it once and after that she quickly handed the card back to me and told me that maybe you should think about getting cash with a laugh. All I will say is this: if you don’t want to accept debit or credit cards than hang a sign that says Cash Only. Plus, disconnect the CREDIT CARD/​merchant terminal. If it’s a hardship to run debit or credit cards, than don’t bother having it.

The location is near from my office. When I was dropping my clothes, they would give me some suggestions or details about the materials. I have a white dress, It was some stains on it. But they did a good job. I like the same day service. if you drop off before 9am, you can pick up your order at 3pm. Awesome! They always provide good customer service. It is your best choice to clean your clothes.

This is the first time I take my clothes to there. My clothes have stain on it. I satisfy not only customer service is very nice, they will explain whatever u ask, give u some tips how to keep ur clothes at home, but also they will try their best to help and decide ur problem. Actually, after that, my clothes are clean and spotless, moreover, the price is affordable.

I have used this dry cleaner for few years and they have done a good job. They clean my clothes very well without damaging. Besides, they have good customer service. They are nice and helpful especially the old lady who has a good experience for alterations. Whenever my clothes get the problem, she is very happy to assist me and provides good suggestions. I highly recommend this place for everyone who is looking for dry clean place,

I would not recommend using this dry cleaner. Especially if you need an item by a certain time or for a specific occasion.

I have been bringing my dry cleaning here for at least 8 years. I live in Mill Valley but this is more convenient to my office and half the price of the cleaners near my home. They have never lost or damaged anything and are always friendly and helpful.

People make it sound like they do EVERYTHING at that location.
What some of you may not know is your clothes are taken probably to the same place you take your $ 2.50 shirts too.
$.99 to not have to worry about washing and ironing myself, it’s worth it.
Not happy? Go somewhere else.

STAY AWAY!!! Deceptive and expensive!!!
I brought in two jackets: one for dry cleaning, the other for steam-​cleaning. Before submitting either piece, I asked if they offered steam-​cleaning as not everyone does. Like another neighborhood store, I should’ve looked if not ran elsewhere when my question aroused confusion; «Steam-​cleaning??” – the clerk. I asked once again and got a «Yes» the second time. I wasn’t trying to use pressure tactics. If its ‘No’, then so be it. The clerk flaunted the company’s 6 branches throughout the Bay Area and their services done all «in-​house». This being my first time with them, I gave in. I SHOULDN’T HAVE!!!
Came back the next day and the dry-​cleaned jacket was fine. The other jacket, a thinly insulated windbreaker jacket I got from my mom 4 months ago, had dry, white steaks on the bottom rim. There were also signs of ware and tear toward the top. They managed to get a slight, white cloud of a smudge out but left it with dry marks and ware. The clerk tried hard to «…guarantee» and «swear» it was there before but I wasn’t having it. I don’t wear the jacket backpacking or during any rugged activities that would scratch it up. It just keeps me warm on my day to day commute around the City.
I demanded they not charge me for that one but the clerk began to tug the jackets away from me. I demanded to speak to the manager. Over the phone, the clerk had a few words and was instructed to «discount» me for that jacket as I offered, from the get-​go, to pay for the one they didn’t f*** up. The 2^nd star is for their snippet of business morality. After I demanded to speak to the manager and repeatedly informed them the jacket was no more than 4 months old, they deducted the charge.
Went in once and NEVER AGAIN!!! Their prices are outrageous. Nearly $ 20 for two jackets. At a place on Geary, I get the same service, no f*** ups, at HALF the price! Also, there’s no need to lie about services that aren’t offered! That’s how you get busted, dummy!!!

Paid for dry clean on a shirt because I was guaranteed that it would remove a spot/​stain. Didn’t work. No recourse.
Flattened collars on the shirts. Do they flatten the collar against the front of the shirt and press like that? How the hell?
I went for the $ 0.99 shirt deal but won’t return. I’ll go back to paying $ 2.50 per shirt to get it done correctly elsewhere.

I do all my dry cleaning in Noe Valley, so I cannot vouch for the cleaning services — but I did have a great experience here with a repair I needed!
I own a ridiculous and impractical amount of vintage clothing; mishaps are frequent. One day, I happened to (rather stupidly) break a zipper on a dress while I was hanging it in my closet. Since this dress is relatively newer (1950s) and the fabric not at all fragile, I thought I could have it repaired at a dry cleaner or tailor (rather than by the person in New York who repairs my antique /​nearly disintegrating dresses). Since this place is close to my office, and I walk by it all the time, I decided to take the dress here to see if it could be fixed quickly. Apparently, fixing zippers isn’t as easy as it seems. I made things slightly more complicated, too, because I specified that I wanted the original zipper to remain; it would have been easier to replace it, but I wanted to keep the one original to the dress. The woman behind the counter graciously offered to try to fix it while I waited — and after ten minutes, she did! However, she noticed that the issue was a bent prong (tooth?) and said that it would likely happen again. She proposed a solution of creating a seam to avoid the problem area, and said the dress would be ready the following day.
I returned the next day to a perfectly restored zipper at a cost of $ 4.00, which I thought was quite the deal — not only did she spend at least 10 minutes on the dress initially, there was the additonal work on the seam. Best of all, she was really nice, and it’s nice to come across people who are actually cheerful sometimes. I was very pleased with the experience!

Ive been here 5 – 6 times now. $.99 for laundered shirts is a great deal. the ladies in charge are always quick and professional. I dropped some notes on a sheet of paper there, and got a phone call to let me know that I left something behind. In my book, thats going above and beyond for a dry cleaner. Im surprised to see all these negative reviews. Id give them 5 stars but i havent been going there for long enough to give them a perfect score.
Edit: I’ve now been here 15 or so times and have still not had a poor experience. I’m upgrading my rating from a 4 to a 5.

Can’t believe how many negative reviews this place has. I’ve taken my clothes here for dry cleaning and basic stitching and haven’t had any issues. I did have them redo a dress since they didn’t get all of the stains off the first time, but other than that they’re not bad at all. The prices and turnaround time are reasonable. When they find any issue with the garment, they call right away to run changes by you or to give you a heads up (though sometimes it’s very hard to understand the woman).
Another plus, they don’t put those funky tags on your clothes!

I brought a suit dress here for cleaning. When they returned it, the string attachments between the dress liner and the dress itself were broken on one side. I didn’t notice this problem until I next wore the dress, and the liner climbed up my legs as I walked.
I asked them to fix it, and even paid for the service (as I wanted to avoid a further argument with the loud and unfriendly owner). They reattached one string, but not the other and my dress still won’t stay down when I walk. I called about this error, was rushed off the phone with a promise to call me back. A week later, and I still haven’t been called back.
Unprofessional, poor quality, and bad customer service. Stay away.

I’m surprised by the negative reviews here. My bus always goes by this place and since it’s near work, I decided to bring a long neglected silk skirt for dc two weeks ago. The skirt was cleaned and ready the next day after 4:00 PM. They even fixed the elastic waistband (which was terribly twisted inside the skirt) and sewed back the label without my having to ask.
Service was quick and fast. I don’t have any complaints.

I have been here twice now, only to have shirts pressed, not dry cleaned or laundered. The first time everything came back fine, with the only noticeable problem being a missing button. The second time though was more disastrous.
I have only worn two of the shirts so far, but it looks like whoever was pressing them was careless, and rough. Cracked and chipped buttons. I am furious, and am not ready to look at the rest of the shirt yet to see if they are in the same condition. The first of those two only had chipped button, but the second had 3 or 4 messed up buttons. And of course that shirt is one of my favorites.
It should be noted that they send there shirt out, which may be part of the problem.
Basically, you get what you pay for.

I have been using this place for a few years with no problems. Last week I brought a brand new shirt in to get laundered and it came back with what looked like splotches of bleach.
I went to talk to them about it, but they tried to blame it on «fading»…uhhh it’s brand new. Then they had the nerve to try and get me to sign a receipt that said «Shirt faded, not laundry fault»…the nerve.
Guess I can’t do much but try and complain and hopefully prevent some people from going to this business.
