Great dog walkers! They took such good care of our little guy. Afton sent us photos and text updates. They are obviously dog lovers!!!

Update: Afton and Mark are now walking my little long haired chi, a rescue with some fear issues. Since they’ve been walking her, I’ve noticed that she’s less scared of visitors and seems happier — she gets very excited when they arrive and they are working miracles getting her comfy with an awesome pack of little pups her size. They also board, and it’s so comforting to know that they’re watching her when I’m away. These two love what they do and their passion and dedication is impressive. They are true dog charmers and we are lucky to have them in our hood.

This is a long overdue review for the amazing Mark and Afton. Thank you Unilocal,by the way. I was searching in desperation as we had just adopted my little dog, and he wasn’t doing all that well with the walker that we had him with (nervous and hiding when picked up). That all changed when we started him off with Afton and Mark. From day one, they were the perfect mix of firm and loving. He felt secure and is now so comfortable with them, they don’t even need a leash at all with him (he’s better with them than with me, on walks!). He waits anxiously for them and gets really cranky if they are running late, walks up and down muttering under his breath or sits on his cushion staring at the stairs. The door opens and he’s racing down the stairs. This is the dog that WILL NOT leave my side for anyone else. No one at all. He follows me everywhere and is desolate if I so much as go into the bathroom and shut the door. It’s so lovely so see him happy, secure, well exercised and confident with them. Cannot thank them enough and would trust any dog with them — they will do so much good for your dog! Another plus point is that they have socialized him so well. He was totally bullied in the dog park and since he joined their pack, he’s understanding dynamics, defending himself and generally having a much better time with other dogs when we go out, as he’s immeasurably more confident. Afton and Mark are also extremely professional, bill on time and make things really easy to work with them. Could not recommend them more highly. Thanks so much guys!

I feel so lucky my wife’s cousin introduced us to Mark and Afton when we got our puppy. I have never owned or trained a dog before we got our little half dachshund half miniature pinscher, two breeds that are known for being slightly stubborn, aggressive and generally hard to train. I give Mark and Afton a lot of the credit for socializing our dog with other dogs and introducing her to a pack and pack dynamics. Our dog could have turned into a mean and yappy little dog, but they helped to make her so happy to see other dogs of all sizes and temperments. They have been walking her from age 6 months to age 15 months now.
Mark and Afton are flexible with our changing schedule and most importantly our little pup comes back tired and happy and is content to sleep until we get home. They always accommodated our goofy requests like giving our dog lunch out on the trail and a puzzle when she got home. They are trustworthy, dependable and punctual and we feel so lucky to have them close by in the neighborhood.

Our English Bulldog, Wylie, has been going on walks with Afton and Mark for a year now. I think he is happier to see them walk through the door then he is to see me!
Wylie gets a REAL work out, it’s not just a walk around the block. He gets to go to off leash beaches and parks so I know he is truley enjoying himself. I know because I find grains of sand on him when I get home!
We also love the pictures we get from Afton and Mark during his walks.
I feel 100% comfortable leaving Wylie with Afton and Mark and I know that I am getting my money’s worth!

I was pretty anxious about letting Penny, my 10-​month-​old Carolina Dog/​Golden Retriever mix, go out with walkers. She’s rambunctious, playful, friendly to a fault, and a RUNNER. Apparently I had nothing to fear with DogPawSF!
Mark and Afton have been walking Penny for 5 months, and they are awesome! They are able to corral her effortlessly, and she comes home completely pooped after every 3-​hour playdate. Her long-​distance recall has definitely improved since she started running with the DogPaw pack. Also, the in-​house boarding (only 1 client per booking) is awesome. The fact that they pick her up and drop her off is just icing on the cake.
Penny goes completely insane with joy every time Mark or Afton comes to the door to pick her up, which is the biggest endorsement for me. I know they treat her almost as well as her mommas!

We love Mark and Afton but most importantly our dog Ada loves them too. I was seriously worried when Ada’s dog walker moved away but fortunately she referred us to DogpawSF. Our little terror doesn’t care for strangers and lets it be known — loudly. Mark and Afton were very patient and gave us frequent updates about how Ada was doing adjusting to the pack. When I used to have more time to walk her everyday, I noticed a lot of dog walkers just sit around not exercising their dogs (and often have way more dogs than one person should). Mark and Afton always take the dogs hiking somewhere fun like Fort Funston and you can really see the difference. Ada is usually out for hours on end and comes back happy and exhausted. Their rates are very reasonable and they also offer overnight dog sitting which is way better than a kennel. I’m so happy we found them and so is our dog!

Planning for 10 day vacation we weren’t quite sure who was going to need a Xanax more, us or the boy. Thankfully I was connected with Afton and Mark. From the first meet, I knew our spoiled boy would be in great hands. One on one love and care in their home, trips to Fort Funston, we couldn’t ask for a better team.

I heart DogPawSF! my roommate and I have work schedules that change all the time and afton and mark are soooo incredibly flexible with us. we really, really appreciate how dependable they are! our dog, scout, loves her outings with the DogPawSF pack and always comes home well-​exercised!
i would definitely recommend DogPawSF to anyone looking for a dogwalker!

My pup Sunny is the HAPPIEST dog with DogPawSF! It’s so reassuring to know that while I am at work Sunny is having the time of her life.
They are affordable and dependable, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that I feel secure handing over the leash. Sunny is the smallest pup of the group and sometimes the only girl on her days with DogPawSF, and they make sure to pay extra careful attention to her special needs. The best part (like others mentioned) are the photo updates! How cool is that?

Mark and Afton are wonderful! They have been walking our energetic Yellow Lab for a few months now and it has made my life so much easier. When I come home he is still tired from the walk/​swim that day and I don’t know how they do it, but they somehow manage to get him clean (and nice smelling) before dropping him off too.
When I needed a stool sample to be taken to our vet for testing, they were so nice to collect the sample then drop it off to our vet for us as well. Overall, Afton and Mark are very trustworthy, hard-​working and dependable. They even send you pics of your dog while out and about during the day. I would highly recommend their services!

Mark and Afton, the owners of Dog PawSF, are the BEST! My (extremely hyper) dog Bramble (the little brindle monkey in the picture) has been walking with them full time (5x week) for a few months and it’s been wonderful! He goes on fun playgroup excursions every day while I’m at work and I come home to a happy, tired puppy who had a better day than I did! It’s amazing. He has his own little group of friends and everything!
Mark and Afton also do at-​home (their home) dog sitting for $ 40/​night, which has been awesome. Knowing Bramble is with them — who he knows and loves — when I’m out of town makes me feel so much better about leaving him. I try not to bug them about how he is while I’m away, but when I do, they’re very patient and give me all the updates I need. They have also been super accommodating with scheduling when to pick him up/​drop him off depending on when I need to leave, etc. The other reviewer is 100% right that they’re willing to go the extra mile.
Without a doubt, I give DogPawSF a million stars!!!

It was a serendipitous moment finding these guys, let me tell you! I picked up one of their business cards at the doggy food store near my house since I was in the market for a new walker (my old one left the city).
I gave Afton (she and her soon to be hubby Mark own the business) a call and set up a time to get together and chat. Right from the beginning they have been so professional, yet extremely friendly and willing to «go the extra mile». They even came to my house to meet Bert (my adorable little mut) along with their amazingly sweet Newfoundland, Eugene!
Their rates are super affordable (they walk Bert full time-​5 days/​week-​for only $ 400/​month) and at the end of the day I feel so taken care of because they are always checking in and letting me know how he’s doing in the group. Bert even has a whole new group of doggie friends!
Long story short, I recommend these guys to anyone looking for a dog walker. Your pup will get first rate exercise, attention, socialization and fun every day that he/​she is out with Afton and Mark.
