I’ve worked with Celeste several times as the producer of Ecstatic Dance Oakland (
). Things I appreciate about Celeste: she’s professional, she always asks for and graciously receives feedback, and best of all: she artfully crafts an amazing musical journey so all 300 dancers can really get their freak on! Fun and heartfelt, Celeste is a true dancer’s DJ.

We used DJ Celeste for our wedding in July 2015 and she was awesome. She was responsive, punctual and kept the party going throughout our special day. She provided a short questionnaire that helped us organize our event and formalized all the important little details. From there we provided a specific playlist for certain portions of the night and suggestions for other portions. Her sound system was great and she provided four speakers to accommodate our event space and several microphones to make sure that everything went smoothly. We had a couple of significant changes to the timeline during the wedding, but she handled it like a pro, improvised our schedule on the spot, and kept the party going without our guests even knowing there were any snafus. Several of our guests commented, unprompted, how much they loved the music. She was just a delight to work with, it was like having another friend (a very productive one!) at the wedding.

Fantastic DJ! We hired DJ Celeste for our wedding in Calistoga. She played great background music during dinner and turned up the jams during the dancing portion of the party later in the evening. Music was perfect and on point. She was also great about getting to know our taste before the wedding.

DJ Celeste helped us celebrate our 20^th wedding anniversary with amazing energy, fun and style! She thoughtfully respected our playlist (and even more importantly our DON’T play list), while bringing in new music, mashups, and her own work to make everything sizzle!
DJ Celeste is an amazing DJ, extremely professional and a true artist. She was able to connect a huge range of musical styles and interests together to fully entertain and inspire an audience ranging from 12 to 80+ years old.

My wife and I recently hired Celeste as our wedding DJ. Our wedding had a diverse crowd which meant very diverse music preferences. Celeste did a great job playing all the songs we wanted and also taking requests from guests. She was great at adapting to whatever people were dancing to and without her our wedding wouldn’t have been nearly as fun as it was!

DJ Celeste is such a pro. She helped us orchestrate our wedding and made sure that everyone was raring to get up and DANCE. I never expected our choice of DJ would earn compliments from the guests, but everyone loved DJ Celeste’s whole vibe and her musical taste. Don’t be fooled by her laid-​back demeanor — she’s locked down, dialed in, ready to party.

One week before our wedding we found out
That our prior plan of plugging in our IPad wasn’t going to work … Even though we had a d.j. And all of the equipment… We panicked and quickly found Celeste via Thumbtack. Wow! It was symbiotic beyond the point of hire. I was under water as the bride and left Tim to the music and it was completely perfection from that moment on. We are both pretty into music and had a definitive vibe that we wanted on this day. It only took a few ideas thrown out and she felt it and ran with it. How does this happen? Who knows– but trust me– she is your beautiful woman to make it all work. She just felt it!

DJ Celeste recently DJ’ed a large company holiday party that I was in charge of planning. I chose her initially because I liked her sample mixes and her attitude was the most professional and warm. With very little guidance on my end, she brought the perfect mix of music to warm the party up, keep it going and then wind it down at the end of the night. Look no further in your search for a DJ! DJ Celeste is the best!

DJ Celeste is worth every penny. She recently DJ’ed my wedding which was a smaller affair but full of spirited people. She was very easy to work with and really listed and adapted to our musical preferences. When she unknowingly played my good friends go to karoke song she provided him a microphone and even made a follow up duet possible.
Other than marrying my husband her djing was my favorite part of the wedding.

DJ Celeste was amazing at our wedding. She had a great music selection for the dinner, but her true talent was for getting the party going. Despite pauses for the bouquet and garter tosses, she always managed to get the guests dancing again. Although we only had 1.5 hours of dancing, it really felt much longer as she flawlessly transitioned in and out of songs before they were done and varied styles of music frequently. We’ve gotten compliments from all ages of attendees, most notably our parents and the otherwise-​sullen 11 year old nephew who couldn’t stop dancing. DJ Celeste was also very professional in emceeing the event, with just the right amount of involvement. She kept the whole wedding on track. Highly recommend!

DJ Celeste was our DJ for our wedding in Marina del Rey on ⁷⁄₅. We had a few meetings with her via Skype prior to the event. She gave us all the information we would need to decide to go with her or not. She told us about her equipment, the type of music she is into and asked us about what type of music we would like for the wedding. Her prices seemed reasonable and my now husband and I listened to her mixes on her website and really enjoyed them. Day of the wedding she set up for the ceremony area and reception area. I danced for majority of the night, as did all of our guests. They really had a blast with the music. She played a good mix of everything we asked for. If we have any future parties, we would for sure book DJ Celeste again.

DJ Celeste was our wedding DJ, and she was awesome!!! Planning was a pleasure. She’s very responsive and organized. She was totally accommodating to our very selective music tastes. And, her prices seamed reasonable considering the quality of the service.
Her equipment is state of the art. She prepared our three wedding site rooms (ceremony, cocktail, reception) seamlessly. She came equipped with microphones, disco balls… anything we needed.
The best part: she rocked the party. Our friends had an absolute blast dancing to her beats. When the dancing got a little slow, she surprised the crowd with a spectacular dance off! (I don’t want to give the song away. If you’re a cool kid from the 80’s — ask for the dance off!)
DJ Celeste is a total professional. She has a broad music pallet, technical expertise, and an overall cool DJ presence. We’d recommend her in a heartbeat!

Celeste is as good as it gets — better, in fact! I agree with other reviewers who say they would give six stars if possible.
My husband and I hired her for our June 15^th wedding on Treasure Island. In addition to having a Facetime video meeting with us before the event to go over music selections, she reached out to the venue and did a tour so that she would have a good feeling for the space before the big day. On the day of the wedding she arrived 3 hours before the ceremony and set up sound equipment for both the reception and ceremony space. I felt very assured by her professional and friendly demeanor.
In addition to great sound equipment, she did an outstanding job moving the night along with both announcements and great music. She is great at reading a crowd. Our dance floor was full from the moment it opened up and on until the last dance. Old and young were cutting a rug and having a blast.
If you are looking for a wedding DJ, or a DJ for any event, I highly recommend Celeste! She is a real joy to work with.

DJ Celeste played my son’s Bar Mitzvah Dance Party on February 16, 2013 in Palo Alto, CA. She was simply magnificent! I would give her SIX stars if it were possible, and here are the reasons why:
1) Pre-​party planning — I really demanded a lot of her time in the pre-​party planning stage for the Bar Mitzvah Dance Party. I sent her numerous emails as well as phone calls on what I was trying to achieve and pull off with this party. DJ Celeste initiated Facetime video conversations with us to better understand our needs. She vetted all the songs that my son gave her for «inappropriate language» so we did not play music that would create embarrassing situations. I had a lot of questions and demands as I was trying to put together the perfect party for my son, and Celeste handled all of my requests.
2) Equipment — DJ Celeste’s equipment was state of the art. Not only did she have an excellent board and sound system, but she gave us different options for our needs. She put together the right combination of speakers, bass, etc. to fit the room we had at Creekside Inn (entire 5^th floor). Her lighting equipment was awesome, and we really had a stylish setup that technically fit the room perfectly.
3) DJ & MC skills — Celeste ran a fantastic party. There were 75 kids at my son’s Bar Mitzvah Dance party! Not only did DJ Celeste keep the party moving, but she kept it under control. The cool thing about Celeste is that she could relate to the kids. I asked all my son’s friends what they thought about the DJ, and both the boys and girls all said she was AWESOME! They were right up on her too… I gotta thank DJ Celeste for dealing with a group that was really right up in her «grill» making music requests. The party went for 4 hours straight, and I was just in awe of her endurance and patience with the kids. She kept them in control while still making sure everyone was smiling and having a fantastic time at the party.
4) THE MUSIC — DJ Celeste is truly an artist. She created mashups, dubstub, and spun music that was far beyond my musical understanding. It was a really cool set that was a musical journey for everyone there that night. But, I also gotta say she did work the «Hava Ngila» into the set so we could hoist my son up in a chair and dance him around to a classic Jewish musical tradition. She gave the crowd so much. It was a very relevant and interesting set that satisfied my son’s music requests. She even found and played obscure Youtube sensations that are popular with my son’s friends.
Honestly, I was lucky that I found DJ Celeste, and I could book her for my son’s Bar Mitzvah Dance Party. I know she is in demand so she can pick her clients. If you can get her then I strongly suggest that you book the date as soon as possible. DJ Celeste plays a variety of different venues and types of parties, but she totally «rocks» a Bar Mitzvah!

We hired DJ Celeste for a wedding celebration and she was absolutely AMAZING. She gets 5-​stars for the obvious things (great music, great vibe and feeling out the crowd to get the mood and dance floor perfect). But what is even more significant is how professional she is. She is an artist with her music, but often artists are unorganized or have poor communication ability. She was great with communication and great with her follow-​through before and during the event. Not only did she have a clear questionnaire for us to fill out, but she was always available by phone or email to go over any details. (she also does face-​to-​face meetings as well) She also did a full walk-​though of the event space ahead of time to make sure that the party would go off without a glitch.
And she has top-​notch sound system! Thank you!!! I was very impressed with how great the music sounded at our party. That was significant, because it was a difficult set-​up in an old house where you can’t just set it all up next to the dance floor. She went above-​and-​beyond to make it a perfect evening.
I highly recommend DJ Celeste for any event or party and really hope I’ll be able to hire her again. Our party was A-​M-​A-​Z-​I-​N-​G and I really believe that having great music makes a great party. She rocked it.

We hired DJ Celeste for our garden wedding in Sonoma in early May. She was incredible and made the day truly awesome and memorable for everyone. Unlike almost every other wedding DJ out there, Celeste truly understands music.
We had wanted to do something different than the ordinary wedding. Our vision included electro-​lounge, gypsy jazz, and house music. Every single DJ we spoke to gave us the same advice: stick with something more traditional. Pop music. 80’s hits. The crowd won’t dance to music they don’t know. We begged to differ.
We were on the verge of giving up when we discovered Celeste. Her background is in club music, and she instantly got what we were going for. We talked on the phone a couple times, and once in person, and from there she built up a set list that matched our vision. She never once suggested that the crowd wouldn’t dance — she believes in the power of a good beat. (Although she did have backup music on hand just in case.)
And Celeste totally performed. She showed up early to the event, made sure the equipment was working, and delivered a fantastic 6 hour set that perfectly guided our crowd from lounge music to electro-​swing to thumping modern house. Everyone had an amazing time. It was everything we could have hoped for.
There were a few hiccups worth mentioning. The first is that Celeste can be tricky to communicate with: during our meeting, often seemed not to be listening, would interrupt or ignore us, or would start texting in the middle of the conversation. Seemed to be an attention span thing. Email communication was also kind of iffy; she didn’t respond to some of the emails we sent, and we weren’t sure if there was a reason why.
On the day of the event, Celeste got into a shouting match with our venue owner — probably fighting to keep the sound great, but some guests noticed. During our toasts, Celeste’s wireless microphone failed and the toasts unfortunately could not be heard. She never got around to playing a song we’d requested for the end of the night, though that was really not a big deal. And one awkward thing, Celeste mentioned several times that she was expecting a tip, which we found uncomfortable as one customarily does not tip people who own their own business unless they go above and beyond.
But I can’t stress this enough, Celeste did an AMAZING job with the music. To us, that matters so much more than all of the other little details. If you are looking for a DJ who truly knows music, can keep the crowd moving without resorting to songs that everyone has heard a million times, and/​or can bring to life an eclectic/​underground vision for your event, Celeste is your DJ! Give her a call and listen to what she can do!

We hired DJ Celeste to work her magic at our wedding on August 20^th. And boy was the magic worked. Celeste was of the utmost professionalism when it came to making sure our special day was perfect. She visited our venue multiple times to make sure everything was hunky-​dory, she arrived three hours early to ensure she had ample time to set up, she was SPOT on with every musical cue we gave her (which were a LOT), and she played really fun, mood fitting music.
To give an example of her character (and I am NOT RECOMMENDING anyone does this, but) we had accidentally thrown away the envelope with her payment in it, and she was very nice and trusting of us to pay her, though not a pushover either. Our event coordinator sifted through some bags and found everything and we dropped it off the following evening to a smiling Celeste who greeted my wife with an awesome CD of some music she’s been working on.
I do have to say, compared to other DJs we shopped, she was a little more expensive, but worth every last penny we paid her. Next DJ appropriate event we hold, she will definitely be there. Thanks again Celeste!!!
Edit: as of 2:40pm on August 22, I have THREE Facebook messages complimenting the DJ at our wedding!!! How many other people get that???

We hired DJ Celeste for our wedding in early June and we both agreed we went with the right choice. Celeste has a great vibe, great smile and she’s young and cool and really knows music. You can tell she’s not just DJing because it’s her job, but because she loves doing it!
She played off the song list we gave her and took smart liberties of her own to play what she felt was good for the guests. She reads the audience and plays what’s appropriate.
She also makes the whole wedding look good! (she looks good) Her sound equipment and lighting was all very professional stuff. She was flexible and provided music for our ceremony as well.
Only thing would be, I wish she was more vocal in her announcements. Perhaps I should have given her the guidance but announcing the cake cutting was something I thought she’d do. Maybe interact with the guests more and announce she would take requests? I don’t know… Just more vocal would have been nice.
My partner and I have absolutely no regrets and I gave her a high recommendation to my cousin who is having a wedding in August. I hope she is available!

I am the event planner for my company and I used Celeste for our annual Holiday party for 2010. Bottom line is; she exceeded all expectations and now that I am on Unilocal to give her a review, I see she’s received several great reviews here already. After glancing thru them I can honestly say I agree 100% with everything already said. 2 things I can think to add:
— we have a number of Indians who work in our silicon valley office and they requested for her to play some Bollywood tracks. Now, I’m not up on my Bollywood music, but they were really impressed with her selections and had a great time dancing. One of them even took her card in case he or any friends had any upcoming events requiring a DJ. She also mentioned to me she has done Indian weddings in the past.
— Beautiful, hip and worldly girl, but no annoying DJ ego. Pretty rare combo.
I’ll use her again for sure.
