Have been doing to Diva since 1999. Great Salon Bradley is great Rae is great at color, but needs to stop calling me «Young Lady.» I’m 58 and not in a Nursing Home.

I love this salon. I used to work in SF so it was very convenient. I now travel from Livermore to get a great cut. Diva, Brandon, and Bradley have all been great! Plus it’s easy access from the BART.

Came in to see Dani for the first time and my expectations were exceeded ! She did a great job in cutting my hair in a way that is flattering for me. Thank you!

I had a really bad experience here which has prompted me to write my first Unilocal review ever. My stylist seemed really unsure of what he was doing which made me initially nervous and the end result was telling of this. I went in for my gray roots and a week and a half later the color had completely faded. I emailed them requesting a refund, explaining the poor results with pictures that clearly showed they had used the wrong type of dye. They didn’t respond for 5 days so I followed up again and they said they offer no refunds. They said they must have used the wrong type of dye but that they would not refund me for their mistake… I could only come back in and they would try again. I spoke with 2 other stylists at other salons who were shocked they used the type of dye they did on my hair as well. I am taking the loss and going somewhere else for the fix, not only because of the disappointing dye job but also how they handled the situation. Providing a poor service, admitting fault of that poor service and then not offering a refund is very upsetting. I definitely would not recommend going here.

Diva International’s website and reviews did not match the experience I received. I walked in excited and hopeful, and left feeling put-​down and dejected.
Despite agreeing to do partial highlights at the color consultation the week before, the stylist suggested doing something different. (She even whispered conspiratorially that it would be cheaper this way too, which took me aback and left me feeling slightly offended. I chose Diva International because I wanted a quality professional experience that would leave me feeling sparkling. If I wanted to save money, I’d get my hair done elsewhere.) Thinking the idea was made out of artistic consideration, I agreed but made one specific request – that my roots remained my natural color, with the color progressively blending downward. I realized that she hadn’t been listening to me at all the minute she began applying the dye at my roots.
After the dye was applied, I discovered that she was working on another woman at the same time as me. This made me wonder: Did she make that recommendation to do a full head instead of highlights because she actually thought it would look better on me? Or because she wanted to save herself the extra effort and time? The blocky and unevenly saturated result of her inattentive work added insult to injury.
On top of it all, she made continual passive-​aggressive comments about the length of my hair that insinuated she was either uncomfortable or annoyed by having to work with long hair. She even having another person blow dry my hair with her without asking my permission (and leaving me feeling like a show pony) and dismissively responded, «I don’t care, anything» when the other stylist asked her what kind of product she wanted for my hair.
Never again do I want to feel as ignored as she made me feel sitting in that chair, with all the other stylists avoiding eye contact with me out of what I can only imagine was embarrassment with the treatment I was receiving.

I moved to SF over the summer and found this salon via my sister. In November I came in with a terrible haircut and bad color which I unfortunately payed a lot of money for. I left Diva International looking completely stunning much thanks to stylist Brandon. Not only did he make sure I looked wonderful, he made me feel stunning inside. (Not to mention: he’s not bad to look at)
I last minute decided when I was sitting in the chair that I also wanted my hair cut in addition to color, which I know is annoying for the stylist as they have to alter their evening plans because I decided to be last minute. Brandon accommodated me with a genuine smile on his face as I feel hair is his passion and holds a high regard for customer satisfaction.
I returned to Diva salon a couple months later for a color touch up– I made my appointment during the SuperBowl mess downtown and was redirected several times before reaching the salon. After being redirected, angry, and lost I called the salon as I had no idea how to get there– (still kind of a newbie to the city and live and die by the GPS)
The owner himself found me on the street, escorted me past security and I was able to experience a color service from Diva that day. She was amazing. I came in the salon in such a bad mood from the hustle and bustle of the city in addition to my own personal problems going on and Diva single-​handedly turned my entire attitude around. She has some type of maternal instinct that knows the exact right things to say to make you feel good inside. Much like Brandon, she was able to make me look and feel beautiful as I left the salon and for that, I will not entrust any other salon with my color, cuts and styling in the future. A special salon with a very special staff. the 1 stars on here can seriously kick rocks and pound sand, as I am one of the biggest critics I know and it takes a lot to impress me and tiny mess up to turn me away and this place blows my mind with exceptional service and care. Thanks everyone! (The Receptionists rock, too)

Great salon for color and cut. The entire team is mentored by Diva Poulos and I highly recommend them for all your hair needs!

I went here for a blow out. I was so disappointed. First, I had to complain three times before I got a scalp massage. The women all around me were in the shampoo chairs for probably five minutes and I just got a quick suds and rinse. I asked several times and then Brendan begrudgingly massaged my head in the chair. When I left my hair looked good, not great, but good. Within an hour, it had fallen and was limp. He had even used a ton of hairspray. I have had blow outs a few times and it always looks great the next day, and even two days later. But with this one, to go out that evening, I had to use a curling iron and redo it because it looked terrible. Such a disappointment, because I work in the area. Would have loved to have a great place to go. I advise to look elsewhere.

I would have rated a 5.
If you want a great cut or color, see Diva or Rae. Both super nice and do a fantastic job!
However, if you want a gel manicure and Judy is there, PASS. I got the WORST gel manicure EVER. My nails are shaped unevenly (a couple are weirdly filed to the side) and it is a sloppy job. After she painted them, there was color on the tips of my fingers and along the sides of my nails. The top coat is on a few fingers as well. Three times I asked Judy to please take the color off my fingers. Each time she tried and said, «okay» as if it were gone and started to put her things away. She used ALCOHOL and was rubbing so hard it was uncomfortable. The third time she actually took a nail file and FILED MY SKIN! I had to tell her to stop. Then she splattered lotion on my suede boots. Pretty sure she knew I was unhappy because I kept my eyes closed the last several minutes. I didn’t trust my facial expressions.
When I told the gentleman who checked me out, he was very helpful. (I am grateful for his calmness because I was mad and told him my manicure was shit.) He discounted the service (which is great because I will have to have my nails redone before the weekend!).
Another gentleman working there looked at my nails and agreed it was a «really bad job».
Diva, please hire another manicurist!

I’ve been coming to Divas for the last decade. Divas is a no brainier for the best haircut in the city. Guys don’t be intimidated by the name — this is the place to go and best of all the whole staff is friendly, professional and fun to be around. My favorite is Sylvia– she is awesome — somehow tamed my hair and does her best to make me look my best ! Thanks Diva!

Love Diva Intl salon. I drive hours every couple months to get here. Love the stylist. Love the setting. So fun!!!

I’ve been a loyal client of Diva International for over 15 years. Although I initially came for the close proximity to my office, the talented stylists have kept me coming back even after moving. I appreciate the flexibility of being able to see anyone on the team, making it easy to schedule an appointment when your own schedule may not be predictable. They all work together to make sure your hair always looks exactly the way you want.

I have been coming here for about 4 years for blow outs and hair color and have never left disappointed! The experience is always relaxing and they really know how to work with and style curly/​frizzy hair like mine which is rare in my experience. I’ve loved every color they have done to my hair and everyone is always really nice and welcoming! The manicure/​pedicure service is also really great and relaxing! I also love the location in the city since it is easily accessible by bus! Thank you!!! :)

My mom has been coming here for years and I finally came in to get a last minute haircut while I was visiting. I always get very nervous about who cuts my hair since I have had some no so pleasant experiences in the past. Diva, who is the owner of the salon, game me an amazing haircut! She really listened to what I wanted and delivered the exact results I envisioned. I will be coming back here on my next trip to San Francisco!

Having moved 16 times in the last 8 years, I always struggle with finding a good colourist + stylist and SF has been no different. After struggling through leopard spotty highlights and bad expensive cuts at other salons I arrived at Diva through recommendation of a friend. They are a 5min walk from work (bonus!) so I decided to try them out. I called to book a day before my appointment, explaining what I was looking for and was accommodated on super short notice.
Diva did my colour impeccably and another lady (who’s name escapes me!) gave me a great cut and straight blow out (I have super curly hair). I am picky with my blond highlights and Diva nailed the tones and mix of light and shadow.
They asked lots of questions about what I was after (yay!) and clarified when I didn’t understand the terms. They listened and gave me exactly what I was asking for with suggestions when I asked for it. Thank you thank you thank you for the great hair — I’ll be back!

My hair is incredibly hard to manage, and I’ve always had a problem with dealing with it any other way than buzzed.
I’ve gotten my hair cut several times here, this salon is nothing short of amazing. The whole haircut is an experience from the beginning to the end; the haircut is just a part of it. Brandon is my hair stylist and he works magic on my hair, it’s so easy to manage and looks really good. I’ve always been very particular with who cuts my hair, and I will absolutely always come back to him, even if I have to travel to get my hair cut.
I would highly recommend this salon and Brandon to anyone, the experience is very positive and the results are amazing!

I was told by the hotel concierge to try this place for a haircut and off I went looking for it. It’s a stones throw from the hotel which was great. They were fully booked for the day and the place was buzzing when i walked in. They apologized and said they could try to fit me in and call me back in half an hour and sure enough they called and organized an appointment for me. I think that was very nice of them.
When I arrived they were running behind schedule by about 15 mins which was ok for me. I waited and then I had a great haircut which I loved. The stylist was friendly, understood what I wanted, German origin and we chatted for a while. She did an excellent job and I was very pleased.
Ok, I have come to accept that it’s bloody expensive in the Finaicial district of SF. I was expecting the haircut to be expensive but it was not too over the top.
All in all a pleasant experience which I am happy to repeat.

Diva International will FOREVER have a special place in my heart. About 2.5 years ago, my grandma was still in the hospital when I decided to start growing my hair to donate. Fast forward to October 19, 2013, and here I was at Diva International getting the cut.
Before I get into the details, I must share my previous experience with another salon. PRIOR TO DIVA INTERNATIONAL, I had an appointment with Oxenrose Salon where I had called ahead of time to let them know that I was donating my hair and wanted to go from super long to short. Therefore, I wanted to be paired with someone who was comfortable with short hair. Come time for my appointment, she ended up saying that she wasn’t comfortable doing such a dramatic cut. I had been waiting for this moment for 2.5 years, so I told her to go for it. When she continued to refuse, I got butt hurt and asked if it was because she thought it would look bad on me. And she said yes — that it wasn’t the right cut for my face. Still determined, I said it was just hair and would grow back anyway. Her response: No it won’t. That she’s had that kind of hair before and it’s really hard to grow out. I’m embarrassed to admit it, but I cried once I left the salon.
One month later, I finally was ready to face another salon. This time, I made an appointment with CJ from Diva International — recommended by my friend who had also gone from super long to super short. What an AMAZING experience!
CJ and the rest of the staff were all so friendly and made this an absolutely unforgettable experience. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left, I was smiling from ear to ear. Given my last experience, I was bracing myself for another possible throw down with the stylist but everything ended up going perfectly.
— I was stressing out on the ride there because I realized that I forgot my rubber bands and plastic bag for the hair. However, when I got there, they told me not to worry. They had rubber bands, a bag for me, and would offer me a VIP discount!
— CJ listened to all my concerns and studied the picture I gave him twice. I must say — I didn’t expect to look like the picture because when do we ever end up looking like the picture? But he actually made my hair look like the picture!!!
— When CJ was cutting my long hair, another stylist came over and was so sweet saying that we had to get before and after pictures and a video. Again, I was semi-​sad because my boyfriend was still looking for parking and I really wanted to document the process. Voila! Here they were to save me yet again — without me even asking!
— When I was getting my hair washed and treated, the same stylist who took the video came by and chatted with me about how she also donated before because of her grandpa who passed away from cancer. This touched me so much because it reminded me of why I was doing it in the first place — to honor my grandma who was the most caring, unselfish, and giving person I’ve ever known.
— CJ took a lot of time with my hair and I was so impressed even when he was only ¼ done! I’ve never had a pixie cut before and was nervous about going so short but he did such a good job and made me feel so confident!
— All the staff and other stylists were so supportive and kept coming over to tell me how good it looked.
This has probably been the longest review I’ve ever written but I really can’t say enough about how amazing everyone was at Diva International. That and their products were fairly priced! I’m always scared to buy products from salons since I feel like they mark it up a lot — but not Diva International!
I can’t wait to come back. Thank you all for such an amazing experience!!!
