We are best known for our

Custom Footwear

Custom Orthotic Devices

and Shoe Alterations,

but a Consultation may be the best place to start.

There are several factors in determining what we do for you. The decision is based on:

1. Therapeutic Need,

Mechanical issues tend to be addressed with orthotic devices, braces, and external modifications to the bottom of the shoes.

Accommodative issues are usually addressed with footwear both custom and ready-made, and with softer types of orthotic devices.

2. Your Lifestyle.

Footwear is part of a person’s attire and therefore reflects a component of self-image. You get to prioritize what is most important to you, function or fashion.

3.Budget Concerns:

If you do not have diabetes, require a brace, or were injured on the job, you’ll probably have to pay out-of-pocket. The best solution is usually the one that will get the job done with the least amount of expense and wait time.

History

Established in 1977.

Being recognized as the best custom shoe making facility in the country — and therapeutically among the best in the world — all started with a serendipitous mishap in 1972. At the beach with friends, Arnie Davis (owner and founder of Davis Foot Comfort Center) lost one of his shoes. It was the only pair he’d brought, and all the stores were closed. Fortunately his friends had some leather and tools in their garage, and he spent the rest of the day figuring out how to make himself a pair of shoes. After returning home he bought some leather, tools, and a sewing machine. Later opened a shop and started selling sandals and hand-dyed oil-tanned leather stitch-down shoes. They cost $ 40 a pair, or $ 50, if you wanted an insole.

People with rather severe foot problems began coming to his shop. He realized that crafting shoes to help people walk truly fulfilled his desire to take art and function to the highest possible level. He knew he had found his true calling.
