After calling to ask if he could replace the key to my mailbox, my mailbox was broken into and all of the mail stolen

Don’t bother going to the shop, not open. I called, he said, «not open today.» Me: When will you be open, I need keys. Him: «I have other things to do.»

Do yourself a favor and call another locksmith. Not sure what this guys problem is but he was so rude it was astounding. Everybody can have a bad day but this was not normal.

The nicest guy. Always professional. Always quick. Aways a good deal. Super serious about his trade.
I see some reviews describe him as rude or difficult to understand, but listen people, welcome to San Francisco. Not everybody sounds like a Midwestern newscaster on NPR. I think people mistake his seriousness in his job, for rudeness, maybe? He is not at all rude. He is a great worker. As somebody who’s used him a whole lot, I was very surprised that anybody would describe him in a negative way.
He rescued me seven years ago and I’ve been loyal to him ever since. I use him a lot. Highest recommendation.

This guy is such a dick! Do not very give this guy any money!!! Such a POS. Called him from north beach to ask for his help after I was locked out of my apartment. He said 10 – 15 minutes. Ok no problem. While I was waiting i remembered that a widow near the fire escape wasn’t locked. I managed to jimmy off the screen and I was in! Since my phone was locked in the apartment, used a neighbors to call him the first time, I picked up the phone to call and let him know I was able to get in myself. He proceeded to tell me I was wasting his f-​ing time among other expletives that I won’t write here since I actually have a sense of class. What?! Seriously? Proceeded to apologize for not needing his services and tell him that if this ever happened again that he would have been my first call, but after the way he speaks to customers I would highly highly highly suggest never using this man or his business for any locksmith needs. Actually ended up hanging up on him as he continued to verbally attack me. He seems completely mentally unhinged! If I could leave less then one star I would. Stay away everyone

The guy is a tab on the rude side. He takes no credit card payments or advance appointments. You have to call him the day you need him!
How do you run a business with that attitude?

My realtor recommended Davis Duong as an affordable locksmith and after trying an unnamed locksmith that I found on Unilocal (see my other review) — I turned to Davis for help. He not only confirmed a same day appointment, but showed up EARLY! A definitely plus for someone who believes showing up early is ‘on time’ while if you’re running late, just don’t bother showing up at all!
Highly recommended.

Swung by after work on a weekday to make a copy of my keys. My roommate had her jacket stolen with her keys in the pocket so I was being nice and made her copies.
Since DD is right by my house, it was the easy choice. Everything about my experience was easy. Walked in, handed him the keys to be copied, got the copies, gave him $ then done! Literally took 2 minutes.
$ 3 for 2 basic keys.

This guy drove over in 5 minutes when I got locked out of my apartment. I think it was a little after 8pm, but he’s available for emergencies after hours so you should try calling anyway. Getting the door open takes anywhere from 5 – 20 minutes, but he’s really nice and chats with you during, so it’s not awkward while you stare at him working.
He also has a key cutting machine in the back of his van, so make sure you get a few copies afterward.

This is where I miss my wife and kids.
My master bedroom has a dead-​bolt lock, but a separate shower-​room. I accidently left my set of keys on my lanyard on my work pants. I was about to take a shower and the door abruptly slammed shut behind me and thus locking me out. Yes, «butt-​naked and freezing my ass off!»
I was able to called Davis Duong Locksmith, which is located only two blocks away. And he said, he’ll be there in 10 – 15 minutes.
Meanwhile while waiting for him, I was taking a shower. Then after my shower, and flossing my grills, the locksmith rang the doorbell. With just a Dora the explorer beach towel around my naked waist, he came in with just a small set of tools and pry the dead-​bolt lock open.
The whole process took only one minute and costed my «naked» butt $ 60.00.
He’s been doing this a long time and seen many similiar incidents like mine.
He also has a credit card machine in his van. And I used my Visa for my misfortune. My holiday-​pay did come in handy unfortunately.
In addition to his one minute work for $ 60.00, he made a joking remark and asked me, «aren’t you freezing?»
«No, I just love walking around the house naked with my Dora the explorer towel around my waist!»

If you need a key cut, such as one your local hardware store doesn’t carry, this place is perfect and inexpensive. Bonus: on the way to the financial district; coffee shop next door; cable-​car line; open 8:30 — 5:30 M-​F and Saturdays. Downer: parking.
Best thing about it: they have an advertisement posted for a Y2K safe! What a great idea.

I was thrilled that the technician actually showed up, unlike the 24 Hour Locksmith! However, he was unable to unlock my door but was very friendly in helping me use a broomstick to get my keys off my bed side table through a window in the backyard. I still paid the $ 75 though.
