D&G Carpet Cleaning

The technician «Martin» was very curt and had zero personality. I called the company to have them steam clean my 4 upholstered dining chairs, and I was given a quote of $ 15 over the phone. I explained this to Martin, but he pulled a bait & switch and raised the price to $ 99 (or roughly $ 25 per chair). I was annoyed, but had budgeted $ 100 for the job and possibly some spots in the carpet. When I mentioned the carpet spots, he offered me a quote of $ 159 which I flatly refused.
The job took about 45 minutes, and I’m satisfied with how it turned out. But not enough to ever use this company again, as the initial reception I received and aggressive upsell by Martin ruined any future chances of me doing business with D & G ever again. Sorry, D & G, but your technicians need some better marketing and personality skills when representing you.

Alex was great. Finished the job on time. Estimate was little different from what i got over the phone.

Very happy with my area rug! I have a chevron rug … the white stripes were looking more like grey. I was able to get a same day appointment and Alex was fantastic!
Would definitely recommend them.

Also experienced a bait and switch which was very disappointing

We have used D&G Carpet Cleaning twice over the past year to clean a white loveseat. I have found them to be very responsive, easy to work with, on time and on budget. I would definitely use them again for larger jobs.

I don’t understand why then write bad reviews. I cleaned my carpet again in this company, great job !!!

Very tacky bait and switch move. I have a two bedroom condo, carpets in both. I googled Sausalito carpet cleaning and D&G Carpet cleaning came up first in the search, advertising a $ 79 two room special.
I needed carpet cleaned next day if possible. They originally scheduled me two days outs, but then had a cancellation next day and were very accommodating so I jumped at the appointment. I specifically told rep who booked appointment that nearly every time I had carpets cleaned, the technician always found a reason to add $ 25 to $ 50 more to quote, it was very annoying, she assured me that this would not happen unless absolutely necessary. This tacky «add-​on» business is why I was willing to try a new company.
I have the bedroom carpets cleaned every nine to twelve months or so. I hadn’t had carpets cleaned since earlier this year, and there were a couple of stains from a pet accident, but nothing horrific. I spent a couple of hours moving furniture to outside decks to clear bedrooms. When technician arrived he said these stains would be very difficult to remove and he would have to charge me $ 100 extra. I told him that every carpet he cleaned probably had some type of soiling, spill, or stain, that’s why people get their carpets cleaned. I wasn’t going to move my stuff back in and start all over again, so I said go ahead but I was miffed.
The job took a little less than an hour, which seemed pretty standard, and I paid the $ 179, when I never had paid more than $ 125 before.
I didn’t realize D&G was based in San Jose (according to my receipt), but when I did my Sausalito carpet cleaning google search I used my work computer in downtown SF, so I guess that explains why D&G was the first listing in the search.
In my opinion I must have had to pay $ 50 to $ 100 for the technician’s time to drive to Marin and back. When I paid the bill the technician said he would give me a discount next time. Yeah right. My mistake, I’ll never use these folks again.

I like their service a lot, he arrived on time as he told us, cleaned the carpet and made it look like new, the stains that were all over the carpet were gone. I strongly recommend service of this company. Excellent work done!

Like a few of these other reviews my price was doubled from the original quote even though I had given them the sq. footage. my carpets were not that dirty but I did have a couple of coffee stains which i have had before and were removed successfully in the past. This guy came in with a machine similar to one’s that I used to rent from safeway years ago and did a half ass job on all of my carpets especially the stained area. I not talking about a large or deep stain just a little coffee drips. Anyway 3 days after he left –the stains reappeared. I have called 4 different times and each time the office tells me someone will get back to me and take care of the problem. Guess what I am still waiting 4 weeks later. Do not use these people you will not be happy with it.

I had my upholstery and mattress cleaned by D&G. It was pretty easy to schedule them. They showed up on time. I wasn’t too happy about the estimate changing from what I was originally quoted over the phone, but whatever.
Alex, the technician did a diligent job cleaning my sofa, sectional, and mattress. The day after, I noticed the streak marks from the cleaning on my sofa have not gone away. No amount of rubbing on the fabric helped. I called and was told to give it a couple day for it to fully dry. Call back if the streak marks remained the same and they will come out to fix it.
I’ve called several times in the last couple weeks. I am constantly told that the technician will get in contact with me and schedule time to fix it. I’m still waiting for someone to call me back and fix my streaky sofa. Since the upholstery is a light color, the streaks make it look hideous. I was going to schedule D&G to clean the carpets of my apartment, but it looks like I should seek another company who don’t take your money and leave you hanging.

The scheduler had offered a 3 room special for $ 85. I had specifically indicate the sq footage to confirm that it would still be $ 85. I was delighted that they could accommodate our evening request. Upon booking, I requested for an itemized receipt so there wouldn’t be complications later.
An hour prior to the appt, the scheduler called to say that the $ 85 was just an estimate. Prices may changed based on the condition of the carpets. We proceeded because we knew it shouldn’t be an issue as our carpets were already cleaned prior to the sale of the condo days before (yes, we are OCD and wanted peace of mind).
The technician came and inspected the carpets, instantly quoting us $ 199. Before we started questioning, I showed him the email of the original quote with room coverage. He got on the phone and came back with $ 150. After much debate, we ended up at $ 100.
Quality wise, he was in and out within 45 minutes. The carpets were wet. They still look the same. I guess you pay for what you get.

Alex from D and G Carpet Cleaning was just here and I am thrilled with my new clean carpets! Most of them were just dingy from not being cleaned in a while, but one had pet stains and a little coffee stain (we’d mostly gotten it out at the time of the spill… and we use a LOT of cream!) but now the rug is perfect.
He was a nice guy and a hard worker and the price was right!

Had read reviews which admittedly were mixed, but… Technician arrived 30 minutes late, and with a quote on the phone prior to his arrival, of course the on the spot price was more than doubled. I had moved all the easier furniture out of 2 rooms, and was planning to be away for next 48 hours, allowing dry time. So decided to proceed. He did not remove his shoes or cover them, he did not vacuum first, he did not move a thing in either room and was in and out in 75 minutes. The dry time was not 2 hours as he said, but more than 24 hours. There are still spots, and I would not use them again, but on the plus side – technician was pleasant and when asked, he helped ME put protective slides under heavy furniture so there were no marks left as carpet dried.
Why is is so difficult to find good carpet cleaners I wonder? The price per hour is pretty darn good, if we are any example.

We called this company to clean a small 5’x8’ area rug after a cat peed on on corner. The company came out and the fellow took the rug out to the driveway to do the job. He charged $ 110 dollars (more than the quote) and and left the wet rug out to dry. After most of the rug dried we brought it in but the corner in question remained wet longer than most of the carpet (not good for a wool carpet).
The rug smelled worse than when we called the company! We called them after the rug was completely dry (a few days) and explained that there was something wrong as the rug smelled terrible. we were told that «there were no guarantees» and there was nothing they would do about it.
These folks are scam artists and do not stand by their work. Not sure what me next step is going to be with them but choose someone else for your own needs.

This company is great! I had them clean my carpet for a move out and when they finished the carpet looked better than when I moved in. The room was fresh and clean and I’m so pleased with the customer service. Keep up the great work!

A tenant next to me just had D&G come and clean her mattress (after the cat got to it.) And just as an outsider, I am so impressed with what I saw happen, that I believe a review has been warranted.
The technician was a German fellow, and his work was impeccable. From the vehicle he arrived in, to the equipment he used, to the very clothes he wore, everything reflected professionalism. I helped him to find a source of hot water for his machine, so I got a chance to speak with him briefly. He was very friendly and courteous. And he worked very hard on that mattress to make it perfect. He was actually sweating – because he was trying so hard. And from what I could tell, it came out great. Then he packed up tidily, wiped up the little bit of water which had dripped around his machine, and left.
In the future, when I need services like this, I am definitely calling D&G. I don’t know the fellow’s name, but he left an extremely positive impression for his great work ethic and acumen.

My sleeper couch is fairly old (11 years) with old old stains, the cleaning really brought the look of the couch back to almost new. Definitely worth the money.
This was important as the size of the couch and the space for the couch is very small so to replace the couch would have been a big hassle. Now I am good for another 10 years!

I called and scheduled an onsite cleaning for a large wool rug. When the technician arrived, we discussed what could be done onsite vs what could be done in their shop and I decided to have the work done in their shop. He took the rug with him.
Less than a week a later they called to say the rug would be delivered the next day. When it arrived I was amazed by how much better it looked. I bought the rug new 7 – 8 years ago and never had a professional cleaning until now. Aside from a little fading of which I was already aware, the rug looked new.
I’m about to call them right now to have another rug picked up for cleaning. Their service is great and very reasonably priced!
