Specialties
Creativity Explored is a visual arts center where artists with developmental disabilities create, exhibit, and sell art. The gallery has been selected by the readers of the Bay Guardian and the SF Weekly as BEST ART GALLERY for many consecutive years. Gallery visitors will find a large selection of reasonably affordable art in a variety of media — drawings, paintings, prints, ceramics, pastels, textiles, etc. 2D and 3D work of all sizes — something for just about every taste and budget. During the week, visitors are able to go into the main studio to meet and talk with the artists while they are working. Most of the work in the studio is for sale and may be taken when purchased. Work included in a gallery exhibition may be purchased and picked up when the exhibition ends.
History
Established in 1983.
Creativity Explored was founded by Florence and Elias Katz, on the principle that all people have the ability to create, and that visual artistic expression is a viable means to self-growth.
